It’s not like there’s a multi billion dollar industry with millions of consumers worldwide.

And also constraining the actual supply of ceremonial-grade matcha for matcha ceremonies.

      • -3

Just shows how well the con is working.

It's horrible and nothing anyone can say will convince me otherwise.

that's one way to out yourself as being terribly uncultured

My personal favourites… Hot/iced matcha drinks, matcha chiffon cake, matcha kit kats and snacks in general. It's incredibly versatile and really enjoyable.

      • I can't stand it in any form, but I generally don't like earthy flavours. I should hope that doesn't make me uncultured.

It doesn't taste great, I think that's why it's sometimes served with a lot of sugar or strawberry syrup. It's naturally green though which is fun.

      • Exactly - it doesn't taste great, just like regular green tea.

    • Bro wake up and left his brain on bed.

You've exposed Big Matcha; it was all a well-coordinated ruse just to fool you and you only.

  • I venti matcha is $12

Is it good btw? I like the maccas Strawberry matcha

      • I swear the strawberry stuff in the McDonald's strawberry matcha is just the stuff the put on top of the sundaes …

What’s the deal with this Matcha shit all he sudden?

    • It's because the rock you've been under was just kicked over.

      • I looked into it, TikTok trend. I’m more than happy to stay under my rock to avoid that shit.

  • +2

    Genocide matcha

  • I don’t mind the matcha

  • +2

It tastes like grass and is highly addictive

    • But Bo Bo cha cha is better

Honestly, does anyone go to Starbucks in Australia for coffee? And if so, why?

    • +6

People go to Starbucks for their flavoured drinks, it’s more akin to bubble tea rather than coffees.

That said Starbucks in Australia is mid compared to US, Japan etc, and for some reason a lot of Asians get Starbucks as a ‘Western flex’

    • I think many uses it as a semi work space also, get a coffee and stay for hours to do work and/or face business meetings.

      • -2

Fair enough. I'm from SA so its always been an oddity for me.

    • +1

Plenty of workers with laptops and students studying in the Melbourne CBD stores.

    • To look cool

  • -3

The coffee tastes like burnt charcoal coupled by zero culture integrity and slave wage.

    • +2

Thank god this deal is for the matcha stuff then?

  • +2

I tried it once, the matcha with strawberry jelly from the Murdoch WA shop. it's like matcha water and it's the most regretted $8.

  • Curious question. Is the promotion redeemable via standard in-store ordering, or must the transaction be processed through the Starbucks app for the offer to activate?

    • Standard in-store ordering works fine.

      • It says for rewards members only, I'm not one. Can I just walk in and order? Will they ask for rewards member email for other offer though? I don't want to embarrass myself lol Also can you order few (say 4 drinks to get 4 more free drinks)

        • +1

My partner setup a brand new account today just before she got hers. So I’d say it’s worth downloading the app and creating an account just to be safe.

@Slo20: Just in piara Waters WA and can confirm it definitely requires membership code to be scanned for the price to come down. Also you can buy as many as you like (as long as they are Macha stuff).
