  • All 14 inch deals, waiting for a sub $300 15 inch deal

  • I find it odd that so many laptop posts fail to provide the battery capacity (wH) and the condition of said battery. (Yes I can google the model, but that's beside the point).

Isn't battery one of the most important parts of a laptop? and other than AIO/portability, perhaps the largest factor that separates it from a desktop.

So why no mention whatsoever here or the external listing?

I suppose we can assume "very good condition" means the battery is at least 80%, but I'd rather not make assumptions when buying.

    • Fair call, battery is definitely not a decorative item 😄

All units in this batch are 80%+ battery health.

  • DO NOT BUY THIS! THE WORST LAPTOP I EVER HAD. FAN WONT STOP SPINNING!

    • have you tried using fancontrol to adjust the fan curve?

    • Are you sure you have Latitude? Most companies that I worked with, has partnership with Dell and they use Latitude laptops. I don't think they will continue the partnership if as you say it is the worst laptop.
It is not the best, but also not the worst.

      • yup, i had to set the power option to hibernate instead of sleep just to make sure the fan stopped spinning when not in use.

    • Open and the bottom panel and give a good blow. Fan is probably full of dust.

    • I have two of these laptops an no issue with the fans

    • I had a gigabyte laptop like this. Fan would'nt stop spinning loudly then i found theres a 'silent profile' in the gigabyte software.

Turned it on and suddenly no more loud fan noises and i didnt really notice any degradation in performance.

There were some odd bugs occasionally though in VLC player where movies would randomly skip 5-30 seconds forward. Only ever happened when the 'silent profile' was enabled.

  • Is RAM/SSD upgradeable, or is everything soldered in?

    • Good news, nothing is trapped forever on the board 😉

Both RAM and SSD are upgradeable, not soldered.

      • Is this deal coming back?
I can see pricing is $50 more currently. Thank you!
