  • Not worth $58. Not worth $29. Maybe worth $14.

  • Cadbury’s tastes like crap now

  • wasnt long ago these were 21 at costco (often on sale 18)

    • @chickenchipsgravy Costco hasn't sold at those prices you mentioned for a while. There was a special advertised in a Costco group page in June 2025 and it was $28.99 as per screenshot here.

Costco Business is also the same price at $28.99 here for Sydney 2000 postcode.

    • Maybe google 'Inflation' and also think about the current world situation some prick overseas caused, fuel prices impact delivery/transportation costs.

      • Obviously not you, but I am so over companies blaming transport costs on oil prices to cover greedy price rises.
A light truck, with a 3T capacity uses about 13L/100km
It can carry 200 of these boxes Sydney to Melbourne for $200 at current prices, or $100 at January prices. 50c a box increase.
The real cost to ship these around is much less, as they ship in bulk, not a little truck.
So the fuel cost is a tiny contribution to costs, don’t be gulled.

I’ll also note the price of cocoa has dropped again and wages certainly aren’t 50% higher than a few years ago.

        • and the cost of transport of the raw materials

          • @visitorsonlyparking: Per kilo cost to move a container across the ocean has doubled from 10c to 20c, give or take.

        • Yup, I cant believe the amount of brainwashing that works on people who believe every single excuse companies put forward for the price hikes and mysteriously the price takes ages to come back down even after the "disaster / event" has subsided for months or years.

          • @lonewolf: the cocoa price has fallen out of the sky, from 12k/t in apr 2024 to just over 4k/t this month. price of chocolate should be coming down soon once the current high priced stuff works its way through inventories and is replenished.. Whether it does or not is anybodys guess, but nobody is going to be buying their overpriced shit soon if operation epstein distraction carries on.

  • Won’t buy Cadbury unless it is under $1 per 100g

    • Them days are long gone. Even factory workers want $50/h pushing a button on the conveyor belt.

      • Cadburry CEO took 25mil last year, equivalent to 65K per week, and doesn't even push any buttons

        • Cadburry CEO took 25mil last year, equivalent to 65K per week, and doesn't even push any buttons

Probably replaced the button pushers asking for $50p/h with AI and robots

        • Is that too much?

        • That's outlandish at the least. They've certainly pushed some figurative buttons with that.

If they knew what was good for the brand they'd stick to pushing them Cadbury buttons and not wrecking the quality to extort profit.

… I'll see myself out now

      • Or perhaps we pay humans a livable wage

        • Yes but if the workers get paid more it will cause INFLATION! Only the corporations are allowed to keep increasing their profits. We can't let the peasants pay keep up or the billionaires will earn less billions.

        • It's hard to justify paying an Aussie four times as much as you'd pay a Bangladeshi for identical labour

    • You can put the savings towards the running costs of your Time Machine…

      • Local Metro is always clearing out one of their lines for around that price it seems. I can take it or leave it. Pretty average chocolate, but at the right price…

    • Won't buy Cadbury unless it is Whittaker's.

  • So what's the spread?

Really don't want to buy a box that's 2/3 of just plain/turkish delight.

    • I just opened my box there were 12 Crunchies, 12 picnics, 17 turkish delights, 16 cherry ripes 35 dairy milk and the rest were boost about 16

  • This is equivalent to 10 of the sharepacks, for an average price of $2.90

Not a great deal when sharepacks regularly went on sale for $2.50 each, but it seems they haven't dipped below $3.50 in the last 12 months

  • $3.71 for 200g

    • $1.86 / 100 G

Otherwise Cadbury Favourites is $2.14 / 100g commonly on special at Woolworths, like they are now

    • Yep, insane when you can get Aldi Choceur for $2.25 for 100gms.

  • Probably 60% cherry ripe and Turkish delight 😂

  • Chery Ripe

    Another cheap Chinese EV?

  • Not a great price for 1.56kg at all!
180g Share bags go on special for $3.50. Twirl, Caramello koala, cherry ripe, Freddo, etc. Was on a couple weeks ago at coles.
Basically the same price per 100g. Not worth it for paying such a big amount. Should be a much bigger difference.

    • I used to be able to get smaller packs on good deals. Not right now mind you. And not quite this cheap per unit. But this should be even cheaper, as you’ll see from all of the deal I’ve shared. Neg!

Spare me. I once paid thrippence for a bag of boiled sweets as big as a baby’s head back before the depression… Thanks OP.

  • Good deal based on modern prices, but it's only $1.86/100g, not a good enough deal for a box with Turkish delight.

    • Turkish delight are the black jellybeans. they are there to remind you that you cannot have the yin without the yang

  • Turkish Delight rises again 🤮

  • Hmmm 1/2 price…
One has to wonder if that's half ther "old" price, or half the "new" price.
Comparing around the traps you could buy this product off ebay for around $34 plus post, or not much more including post, since February 2026.

Makes Big W new normal price a tad look expensive.
