Edit: Deal seems to be happening every night from 7pm - 6am AEST. Can't seem to specifically filter those times in however, so set as not expired for now.

I believe this is the cheapest it has ever been, especially if you pair it up with the 15% cashback from TopCashBack which should stack with this coupon as it was generated via Lenovo website directly (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/960486)
Looks to be a short pop up sale only available till 6am, so good luck late night dwellers!

I've got this monitor from the last sale, and can vouch it is a dream to use, my only gripe is the quite aggressive auto dimmer, which I can't seem to be able to disable/reduce.

Have to second the auto dimming on this monitor is really agressive in hdr mode

  • order got canceled

    • Oh damn, was it flagged as a price error or anything? That's disappointing to hear.

      • +1

Not cancelled yet. Suspect that’s a false claim.

  • +1

OP have you found a better way to reduce brightness? It takes ages on the OSD.

    • You can adjust it through your VGA control panel (NVIDIA or AMD) manually, although I've got HDR enabled and set on TB400, so I can't actually adjust brightness through OSD at all.

      • Yeah I have hdr enabled all the time as well, just wish i could change the brightness without having to change off hdr on monitor, turn off hdr, change brightness, then reverse the steps again. Otherwise really good monitor

        • There is a setting in the menu DCC/CI if that is off that might be your issue. That allows brightness adjustment via software.

bought one last night got $130 cashback tracked and also $57 reward.

    • +1

What time did you grab it @RichardF89?

      • +2

        11pm wa time

  • +1

Thanks OP. Will upgrading from my S2721DGF which has been having issues

    • +2

      $134.85 tracked on topcashback au

    • Heyyyy, I have the same S2721DGF which is absolutely fine… I was holding for an OLED.

      Could this be THE one?
      😅

    • What do you think @Deepchild?

      This vs the S2721DGF ?

  • +2

Ok now that’s locked and loaded, any recommendations for a half decent monitor arm?

    • +1

Congrats, did you get the $134 in cashback too?

      • +1

surely did, what a steal, thanks for the tip off

        • No worries mate. Glad to help. I know how frustrating missing out on something that you've been after is.

I'm wondering if I should get this too, and replace my Dell S2721DGF which is about 5 years old and going strong.

Gaming on an oled will be sick.

I have $70 in store reward points, not sure if I can use that against this to make the deal even sweeter.

Can't go wrong with the North Bayou H100

  • +3

Great deal, really annoying that the 27" is the same price.

  • +1

This is an odd sale strategy by Lenovo, seems to be running every night this week.

    • +1

With no clue about end date. Very annoying.

      • The 15% cashback ends in 10 hours, but that seems to come around frequently also.

  • I've just realised the auto dimmer is going crazy on my copy i have to switch hdr modes temporarily to get the brightness back

    • What triggers the auto function, do you know?

      • No idea, just realised myself when i switch from hdr photo to hdr movie it will boost up the brightness (presumably to what it should be) and then i can switch it back to hdr photo where it'll retain the brightness (until it goes back down again lol)

        • Mate, that's annoying.
Are there any firmware updates available?

          • +1

@Lord Ra: Nah they haven't released any firmware updates since august last year. This is a great monitor with only firmware holding it back. Still worth it for the price $764 after cashback is a great price no other monitor comes close to this price. Would buy another but would like my second oled to have a headphone jack

            • @JacobAU: I'm going to be in the same boat as you shortly.
Let's hope the interwebs helps us find an answer to this dimming issue quickly.
Looks like OP also has to deal with this issue.

@Crimson Shinigami have you had any success dealing with this?

              • @Lord Ra: Unfortunately, not much luck, I've only managed a band aid solution by using the monitor OSD to flick between different HDR options (from movie to hdr400 for eg) to force a refresh in brightness, but not a permanent solution yet.

                • @Crimson Shinigami: Maybe if all of us from Ozbargain gang up and put in complaints about the monitor, that will spur them on to investigate and try to apply a fix.

Is anyone techy enough here to give me a spiel about this issue, so that I can contact log a support ticket with customer care and copy pasta it?

                • +1

@Crimson Shinigami: @JacobAU and @Crimson Shinigami have a read of what barracuda posted here. Seems to have worked for him.

Can you please try and see what happens?

Mine is still in box, or else I would have.

@Lord Ra: I had read this thread as well but a bit of a noob in this space. If I keep HDR off for now will any of this be problematic?

                    • @madseason: Shouldn't be! Yep, just turn off unless gaming.

                  • @Lord Ra: I tried this awhile ago and i think it solved the no 1000nits bug at the time but that's since come back. That fix isn't for auto-dimming.

                    • @JacobAU: Ah dayum.
Perhaps there is a way to disable the auto dimmer?

                    • @JacobAU: I just plugged mine in. Looks nice. Very very glossy. So much so I can see more of me than i can the black backgrounds,, cos I work in dark mode a lot.

What settings do you have this bad boy at for
                      1. Gaming
                      2. Office use

                      @Crimson Shinigami
would love your input too please, thanks.

I love the fact that it came with the 8k DP and hdmi cables. Now I know I have the best. Those cables alone would have cost a bit.
                      TIA

                      • @Lord Ra: Just default settings for me really. Set hdr mode to photo and left it at that. Just make sure you set your 240hz in display settings. Enjoy! And let me know if you figure out any fixes for anything

                      • @Lord Ra: I pretty much kept mine default for the most part (set my HDR to TB400) and disabled all the oled care/power saving settings (I'll take my chances with burn in).
Honestly though, I find screens a personal preference, so play around with the HDR options and see which suits you the most.

                  • @Lord Ra: Yeah I tried that too a while ago, unfortunately it doesn't fix the auto dimming issue. Looks like I will be dealing with this for a while xD

    • Seeing a few posts on Reddit about this issue, sounds like a total deal breaker having to fiddle with the menu swapping settings back and forth every 30-40 mins to restore the brightness? …. apparently the 27UD-10 is affected also.

I'm scratching the Lenovo's off my (4th Gen 27" 4K OLED) list until it's resolved, they have no burn in warranty either whereas it seems everyone else has 3 years. Patiently waiting for a repeat of the previous Alienware sales now

      • +2

I mean only really an issue if you need the extra brightness. I use it without just fine and only pop it on if i feel something isnt looking as good as it could. Still annoying though

        • That's a good point, I was assuming it was going to an uncomfortable level but I guess there would be more noise about it if that was the case.

          • @Wip3out: Yeah nah its not a huge issue, very usable without doing the fix everytime. But all these things should be taken into account along with price and your goals.

        • +1

I'm using mine primarily for productivity and had to turn off the brightness anyway because it was gonna burn my eyeballs out haha. Since changing the settings around it's much nicer now. I can see this being a dealbreaker for someone who is working constantly with imaging or video production though, it flicks around a lot in HDR mode. Lenovo should fix this, I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard.

          • @madseason: What are your current settings please @madseason ?

            • +1

@Lord Ra: Oh nothing special. HDR off, game mode off, lower brightness, 120Hz SDR. I think HDR was making the auto-dimming way more noticeable.

              • @madseason: I don't have an OFF option for Game Mode, only standard.
HDR off turns off Dolby Vision, which is fine for office.
Brightness is quite dark, so I had to bump it up to 80, contrast 65, sharpness 40.
I reduced dark boost to lowest Level 1.
                DCR Off.
                DSC On
                Colour Mode: Warm.

                Anything else?

    • Are you on windows? Does toggling HDR on and off (Win+Alt+B) reset it?

  • +1

The deal is on at the moment. Also only 4 hours left for the 15% cashback with TC

  • +1

@Crimson Shinigami, can you please mark the deal as current?
I've just checked and the price is still $899.

It'll help if you add the time to the post,
7pm to 6am only. That will stop people from reporting it as expired.

    I can't report it again.
