  • Damn that's cheap, it's a shame nobody can afford to mount it to anything lol.

    • You can always run a RAM-less PC….

    • Yup, I have a full PC built waiting for RAM from last Amazon deal to arrive, been stuck in Order Received status for weeks, deliver date has been and gone

  • Cheap. Bought the RGB version and belatedly found that it ends up sitting on top of the ram slots, effectively blocking it. Also partially blocks the nvme slot on my mobo.

    • You can mount the fan slightly higher, it doesn't affect cooling performance too much.

This is what I had to do with my Phantom Spirit because I didn't realise my ram sticks were higher than the maximum clearance.

      • Yup. Did that but it's still blocking 1 of the sticks (i have 2, on MSI B760M mobo)

        • Yeah even for single tower I am wary of RAM blocking and nowadays I check the product images to check if it has an offset mount.

E.g. Picking Deepcool AG400 or Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 over an Thermalright Assassin King, even though Assassin King is 5 pipe.

        • You can get 85-90% ish performance with 1 fan. Otherwise you can mount the fans both in pull through config and mount it behind the second fin stack.

          • @ATangk: In addition to the performance/cooling drop, removing one fan from the 2-fan CPU cooler results in a significant dBA increase, especially with the removal of the push-fan.

      • I've done a few builds for people and sometimes have had to remove the front fan depending on their ram.

Overall it's an amazing cooler for the money and doesn't impact temps that much.

  • Have this exact model in my PC, first used with an i5-10400, then R5 7600X. Never had any issue. Theoretically it can handle ~260 watt TDP so pretty much any consumer CPU on the market.

  • the goat air cooler
literally cannot beat it for price to performance

    • It certainly was for a long time. It’s newer bigger brother, the Phantom Spirit (PS120) 7 heat pipe is even cooler and quieter for just $5-$10 more.

  • This is the 6 pipe version. Have they discontinued the 8 pipe version?

    • Thermalright doesn't make many 8 heat pipe coolers, maybe you're misremembering? https://www.thermalright.com/product-category/heatsink/hp-8/

There's the Phantom Spirit 120 (and its variants) with 7 heat pipes which is still available for purchase, just not this cheaply.

      • Looks like Phantom Spirit 120 SE is $53 from same vendor. A lot of good options on sale right now from Thermalright.

        Non-flashy one for $49.54

        • Thats the one! and thank you, picked it up.

        • Seven pipes! THANK YOU

      • ahh yes the 7 pipe, i knew there was another version that had more then 6 heat pipes! cheers for that!

  • Nice one, it's still the same price in 3 years!
