Kia Tasman X-Pro MY25 $64,990 Driveway @ Kia Australia

380

Kia Australia has slashed drive-away pricing across most of the 2026 Kia Tasman dual-cab ute range, with discounts of up to $13,000.

The biggest saving is for the flagship Tasman X-Pro, now priced at $64,990 drive-away, down $13,000.

Model New Drive-away Price Discount
2026 Kia Tasman S 4x2 Dual Cab Pick-up $42,990
2026 Kia Tasman S 4x4 Dual Cab Pick-up $49,990
2026 Kia Tasman SX 4x4 Dual Cab Pick-up $51,990 $6,500 off
2026 Kia Tasman SX+ 4x4 Dual Cab Pick-up $54,990 $11,500 off
2026 Kia Tasman X-Line 4x4 Dual Cab Pick-up $59,990 $11,000 off
2026 Kia Tasman X-Pro 4x4 Dual Cab Pick-up $64,990 $13,000 off

Likely a response to much slower-than-expected Tasman sales due to high diesel prices and a butter face.

That said, unlike the exterior, the interior is best in class, and the Tasman is one of the most fuel efficient diesel utes.

With $65k the new starting line, please comment what you're actually able to negotiate from there (further discounts, accessories, etc).

  • It's a close call between this and Mahindra Pik-up for ugliest car on the road

      • But the people watching and/or laughing as you drive it are wondering the same thing you are: why you bought this monstrosity, right before you reluctantly get into it :)

        • Except it doubles as a fishing dinghy with enough expanding foam.

        • No one gives a F. Case: Chinese branded cars are selling very well.

        • I guess ugliness scale is relative. I for one don't find this car ugly… not that I can buy it with the $250 tax offset I will be getting in the future.

          • @bigbadboogieman: Can buy dinner and drinks for 2!

            • @sim36: I am planning to fund a year's worth of credit card surcharges with it. It's already been earmarked.

        • If people cared about looks, not a single SUV or pickup would be sold.

      • as you walk towards it, ouch!

    • That is why Mahindra is giving out $5k worth of fuel card

      • I know somebody who does 800km every week on dirt roads with a 2023 model.

Yeah, it's not a pretty car. But holy shit it's bulletproof. It came with a bullbar, snorkel, rubber floor (not just mats, the entire damn floor) and better suspension etc.

He paid $40k for it, and it hasn't missed a beat.

        • Agree. Far too many people in the West are brain washed by looks and brand image

(I was slightly tempted too in my youth haha). Some things atr Tools to serve a purpose.

    • mahindra is at least utilitarian and rugged looking, in a Grenadier/LR Defender sort of way.

      • I'd hate to see what you bring home after a few beers…

    • I had no idea what the Tasman looked like, but damn that’s hideous.

    • Could be worse. Could be a Cybertruck.

    • I thought so too, but I saw a tasman with various 4WD addons yesterday.

Its the worst and an offense to thine eyes

    • Don’t like your chances of a pick-up with a Pikup. But at least it looks like it’s built for hard work.

  • Wonder how come this car is still so pricey…

    • Because Australians love bloody Utes mate

      • Aussie Aussie Aussie

      • But it looks ugly.

        • It's all relative. Compared to a Ferrari a Hilux is utterly hideous. I don't think any 4x4 is particularly good looking

    • Ugliness aside, it's not pricey now. Most cars have a profit margin of about 10%. The X-Pro has just been discounted by over 15%. You won't find another ute with the more features for $65k.

      • ARE YOU SURE?????

        • Certain. This is GWM-level pricing we're seeing from Kia.

          • @BestTechAdvisor: Yep. This is, "let's move as many units as possible to push stale stock, and claw back some market share".

  • Have they sorted that rear suspension yet?

    • Sure but I think paying $64k for a BYD or Zeeker (or whatever) is crazy but people are doing it. Each to their own.

      • For a weekend ute, the BYD Shark destroys this in looks and performance. That's why people are buying it. 0-100 5.3 secs. Once you feel that you start getting the paperwork ready. Plus it's cheaper, has V2L and runs on petrol.

  • Look…….the need to have children and grand children is vital if you don't want to die alone in the future. Also having sex is vital for your mental health and physical health. Buying this vehicle does jeopardise these 2 things which are essential to a long, healthy and fulfilling life.

    • Buying this vehicle does jeopardise these 2 things

Only if you are an ugmo…

      • Or an OzBargainer…

    • Seen a few good looking girls get out of the passenger side of these Tasman Utes.

      • They are cousins.

      • Tell your mother & sister to stay home!

        • I was being serious, but funny all the same lol.

  • Omg 🤣
But seriously though why would i buy this crap when i can get a shark with way better looks and interior.

    • Absolutely hard disagree with the interior as best in class. Its ok, but its not best in class.

Suprisingly the second row was lot smaller I expected when I looked at it.

      • Absolutely hard disagree with the interior as best in class. Its ok, but its not best in class.

do you mind sharing which ute has better interior than BYD shark?

most of them still come with hard shell plastic… the bar is so low lol.

        • The X-Pro has a better interior than the current Shark. Spend some time in both and it's apparent.

Shark's real benefit is it's a proper PHEV. You'll also need to get the 2L Performance trim in order to tow 3.5t, and it still won't be as efficient as the 2.2L turbo diesel in the Tasman over long distances.

    • Genuinely nice interior but average off road. Also mental fuel consumption when battery is flat, especially off road.

  • $30k for a 4x4 model and I will buy one.

  • Thank god you can get red, sick of the 50 shades of grey in utes.

    • The red ones go faster

  • BYD shark is better.

    • Depends on your use case

      • What is the use case where this is better? Neither are a real offroader or heavy tow rig.

They are the same soft roader, except Shark is less ugly and is an 80km range plug in hybrid.

        • Neither are a real offroader or heavy tow rig.

The X-Pro has a locking rear diff, low range, better angles, more clearance, more wading depth, and is lighter, so it is far better off-road.

The Tasman can tow a full extra tonne and will do so at long distances much more efficiently, +25% payload.

I'm happy to discuss the areas where the Shark beats (or ties with) the Tasman, but it's not off-road or towing, and anyone who knows what they're talking about will agree.

    • Anything better than a Kia. And there'll always be someone annoying on here that says oh but looks are objective whenever someone points out this is fugly

      • Anything better than a Kia

Shark isn't better than the Tasman off-road, carrying, or towing.

And there'll always be someone annoying on here that says oh but looks are objective whenever someone points out this is fugly

If we're only talking about looks then, yeah, anything recent is better than the Tasman.

    • Off road it definitely isn't.

  • Can it do skids and climb Beer 'O' Clock Hill?

  • can not really trust Kia with Whatever price they advertised , but this one is real price drop bargain for brand new Ute with Korean quality.

    • Korean quality.

      😂

  • Race to the bottom

  • This price must be a joke…

  • I thought the byd ute is already ugly but this omg just beyond me that car maker design a car like this

    • Probably not aimed at people like you.

      • Sales indicate it wasn't aimed at anyone

        • Sure, but it was always going to be really difficult to release and sell their first ever

utility vehicle where many other brands have a legenday reputation and history with a

great national service centre/maintenance network. For their first iteration they have

come up with a decent unit that can obviously be well improved on, but an ok start.

  • The Kia Tasman.

I imagine the design process went very similar to this:
    https://youtu.be/WPc-VEqBPHI?si=AhjVSfwPFVxA1gc9

  • With rumours saying they're considering an emergency styling refresh. Might be worthwhile waiting.
I don't mind the look tbh when bullbar n dark colours are installed

    • I don't mind the look tbh when bullbar n dark colours are installed

I saw a cab chassis with a colour coded tool/service body, bullbar and taller tyres and it looked much better.

  • All other Kias look so nice, why did they have to make this car soooo ugly

    • Because they run it past everyone at the local blind society and they were all in agreement it looked amazing.

    • I am yet to see a good-looking Kia, period. But Tasman tops the ugly list. All that expensive pre-release hype and marketing, followed by such a flop.

      • Design is subjective, but must people would agree that the Kia Stinger was very good looking; designed by Peter Schreyer, designer of the Audi TT.

        • Like not just the stinger. Every one of the others from Picanto right to Carnival has the nice sharp brand design but still good looking

  • With the extra $250 tax offset we will get next year after filing our annual returns it's going to be almost free.

  • The savings you’ll get will be spent trying to improve the look of this dogs breakfast with exterior accessories from ARB et al.

  • Now this is a deal, unlike those Chinese rrp deals people post

  • Kia Tasman
    BYD Shark

ugliest plagues of the car world.

    • what you drive mate? sexxy camry?

  • Will go down much further.

  • Buyer A: Yay the perfect vehicle for the preschool drop off and weekend ballet drop off! Won't take it off road as i don't want to damage the paint.

Hater A: Eww so ugly my fwends will laugh at me and hurt my fweelings

    /thread

  • I quite like the look and it has a great interior and the pricing is getting more realistic. It got up beer o'clock hill too.

  • These are any good for school run?

  • Anyone else hate their neighbour? Buy it and park it outside their house as a centre piece.

  • How shit do these look lol trash

  • do i want this or a new shark 6 performance that just came out. i think i want the shark, every day of the week

  • It's a weird vehicle… from some angles I'm like "that looks kinda cool" and from other angles I regret having eyes at all. The latter thought always wins out.

  • Is there an engine difference in their model lineup, or just bells and whistles?

    • Not in Australia, all are 2.2L turbo diesel here

  • From after sales perspective and reliability wise Kia and Hyundai compete with Toyota now. Their warranty rate is very low compared to other manufacturers.
Interior design and quality is very good, but I don't think anyone can say anything good about the exterior lol

    • compete with Toyota on reliability? Perhaps during the warranty period. Good luck after that.

      • After the warranty period is 7 years - better part of a decade. Things have changed a lot in the past 7 years…
