I’m not sure if this is a deal or this has been like that but I noticed this is the brushless version which should be more powerful than others and this comes with a case and also charger and battery which is quite nice

    Maybe brushless?

    • +6

yes that’s what it says in the specification and also on the picture

      • This was much better spec and price: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/882651

        • +3

yep, just without the case battery and charger

      • +1

The picture does not look to be the brushless version. I suspect the specification might be wrong.

  • nice, does this do masonry ok?

    • +5

It'll do light masonry work. If you're doing heavier masonry work, or a lot of it, then a rotary hammer drill is the way forward; It'll be a lot quicker and easier.

My house is double-brick and I use this to hang pictures / etc. instead of hauling out the corded hammer.

I wouldn't use it to drill holes in concrete.

      • +1

It can drill concrete, it is just slower. Okie for the occassional requirement.

Don't waste your money. You need one of these.

Can I use this as an cordless screwdriver ?

    • Perfect tool to assemble IKEA flat packs.

      • And you can even 3D print mounts for the SKADIS board for these specific batteries that click satisfyingly in place to mount your tools/battery

I’ve had AEG and Ozito 18V brushed drills, as well as a Bosch brushed corded drill, and none of them have failed in the past 15 years. However, this Ozito brushless drill was the first one to fail, lasting less than two years. Fortunately, Bunnings has a great warranty policy, so I was able to get a replacement along with another five years of warranty coverage.

Great drill. Will handle 95% of DIY jobs. Good price

  • item out of stock or not available for me :(

      • they cancel my order after 2 days :(

        • sorry to hear that, maybe ran out of stock?

I'm getting sick of hitting my regular drills with a hammer. They don't last very long.

Had a few of these over the year and all failed within warranty.
Had one difficult return where they tried implying the chick was not covered and had to press the point it was not serviceable component or similar.

That said the most recent model seems better built.

    • +1

      Your chick wasn't serviceable?
I didn't think Ozito serviced anything. They just chuck it (no pun intended) in the bin and give you a new one. though they do sell some spare parts.

However, chucks should be standard and easily replaced.
The Ozito uses standard 1/2" x 20 UNF spindle threads, and Bunnings sell chucks that will fit.

So legally, Bunnings could have easily repaired it for you, but they don't bother.

      • Chuck yep. It was odd they were trying to reject the claim basically.

These were all brushless versions and are good value.

  • after waiting for what seemed like about 3 hours for the page to load, I got this:
"Oops! This product is no longer available."

    • still works for me

  • If you need wrist snapping power try this one.

    • What makes you think it looks like a non-brushed model? It says it's Brushless?

      • My mistake I must of misread the box while I was in store. It does say brushless in the image.

Can someone help me with this? Is this one of those electric screwdrivers? if so, is this a good one? If not, can you suggest me something good and what should i be looking for? TIA

    • Ozito Cordless Screwdriver = www.ozbargain.com.au/node/915919
It's not as powerful as a hammer drill or an impact driver; It's for more delicate work. I've had mine for years. Used it mostly for Ikea style furniture building. This electric screwdriver pairs well with the cheap/softer fasteners from the furniture manufacturers.

    • Look at the Worx Slide Driver or Bosch PSR Select for convenient electric screwdrivers.

The Bosch often gets discounted as part of those Amazon Bosch brand deal cycles they seem to have.

    • Looks like you need this Bosch cordless screwdriver, I am sure you won’t be disappointed with it.

  • Man, was about to buy it today and it seems it's all out of stock.

    • Looks like it got removed from Bunnings website.
