  • Have this, it’s nice but watch out for the grey streaks — love the size but the panel quality felt like a downgrade from my last OLED monitor (some Asus 1440p 240Hz OLED):

Grey streaks or vertical bands on LG OLED screens, often referred to as "dirty screen effect" (DSE), are an inherent quirk of OLED panel manufacturing.

I think I paid something around 2500 right when it came out about year ago

Edit: oh and, it won’t power my work laptop over USB-C unless it’s at 100% (I thought I checked PD output prior to buying as that was one of my criteria for single-cable solution); below 100% the display will randomly stop feeding power momentarily and MacOS will enter sleep mode, which was super disruptive for meetings — workaround was prop the lid until it’s back at 100%

Would I buy it again? Hard to say, but I’ve had zero urge to upgrade to anything else which is rare

    • I have the older version of this (1440p) and I wish I waited out for something like this. I noticed games look noticeably worse on 1440p on this big ass monitor.

It was a bit of an impulse buy for me at the time since I was obsessed with OLED curved monitors.

One thing to note is that they’re releasing a 39” version of this with way less curvature. Looks pretty neat

    • How’s the scaling on Mac OS?

  • If you buy together with one other person can use the 15% off over $4000 and get a $400 gift card

Works out to be $2017.94 each monitor and a $200 each worth of gift card value

    • That's even better!

  • AMEX peeps can also stack with 'Spend $1500 or more and get $150, back, every time' offer if they have it. (Expires 23/07/26)

Thats how i got mine for $1,974.15, last sale

  • this or new 39 inch model ? the only downside is 800R of 45inch for me at the moment…

    • I will go 45 to save hundreds of bucks…

    • For 500 bucks difference I'd go 39, newer tech, newer panel, less curve, why not

    • It's an interesting one

45" felt too big when I first got it, and that was coming from a 49" 32:9
And while the horizontal curve was perfect, the lack of vertical curve became noticeable to me as stuff felt stretched out (not that anyone sells them with that)

Took me about 6 months to adapt to it

42" would be the sweet spot I'd say

For games & movies it's awesome, and 45" all the way
For work, I'd say towards 39" just because everything would feel a bit more focused and less stretched out on edges

But also relative to how far you are away. I'm about 80cm or so

    • I have a 15% code that takes the 39 inch down to like $2380, at $244 difference the 39 inch would be a better buy. Better size, less aggressive curve, standard pixel layout so no more text blur. Try asking support for a 15% code.

  • Would this work as a productivity (work) monitor 8 hours a day?

    • Sure

Is it the recommended use case for this monitor? Obviously not, but yeah nothing stopping you from doing it

    • Check the burn in warranty

  • I've bought cheap VA panels my whole life and I grabbed this one for $1899 from jb last year

A lot of people say that a downside is the curvature but I've thought about it zero times since using it

    Life changing

  • this is a great monitor
    love the 800r curve
I had the new oled from samsung 49 and the curve was basically like having a flat screen, i had to return it
this has the perfect curve for gaming and productivity
    super bright as well
my 5080 works well with it
best to use it with a monitor arm as well

  • Anyone in Melbourne wanna pair up?
