  • I signed up through the Westpac Rewards link about six weeks back. The prepaid Visa hit after 30 days as expected. It's a branded AGL Visa card that is activated through the My Card Wallet app. It's a touch clunky to do so initially but it's fine once you load it into your native digital wallet. I was already switching over for the $200 bill credit (which anyone can get) so the $100 Visa was a nice bonus.

  • What happens if you switch out once you receive the $200 bill credit, do they reimburse you or is it to be used with AGL only and forfeited once you leave them ?

    • Their terms and condition says forfeited if you leave and cannot be exchange for cash

    • Are you basically asking if you can sign up, get the $200 bill credit then cancel and try take the $200 out? If so, of course not man

      • I’ve legitimately done this before, but with Energy Australia I believe.

      • A lot of company's pay out your credits or money in lieu

      • Was common to do this before even with AGL

  • Does anyone know if Bank of Melbourne counts as Westpac (owned by Westpac) for this offer?

    • You just need to sign up via this link for the offer. Nobody is going to verify it.

      • Yeah I can’t even see where it says you need to be a westpac customer tbh.

I’m gonna try since I was gonna sign up with agl anyway

    • I'm a Bank of Melbourne customer, in online banking under my credit card there's a link called "My Offers & Benefits" click on that it brings you to https://myoffers.bankofmelbourne.com.au where you'll find a link which takes you to the exact same AGL offer signup page that's in this post.

      So TLDR yes

      • Great, thank you

  • Good luck getting the credit from AGL. Wouldn’t honour similar previous deal despite screenshots from the sign up process (showing offer on their website, with address, plan and rates).

    • I got mine every time

    • I've got mine every time as well. They even publish the date (in the My AGL portal) when it will be awarded.

    • I was with AGL many months back. I got the credit at that time

  • As usual, no love for existing customers

    • the mroe i see these the more im reminded to leave agl (profanity)

    • $50 Digital Prepaid Visa for existing AGL customers switching to this plan

  • I churned from agl in april and recently received similar store credit in the past 12 months. Reading the T&C, seems I'm still eligible for both credit and gift card. Have I missed anything?

Also, currently with agl for gas but presumably this offer will treat me as 'new' customer?

  • I booked a 'moving home' connection with them couple weeks ago scheduled for 19 June. TopCashBack also has some AGL bonuses (was $100 for staying 90 days with electricity). I clicked through TCB link, and then applied using the St.George/Wespac bank deals. Anyone know if TCB will honor cashback since it did register a visit to AGL?

    • How did you apply the Westpac deal after clicking from TCB as they open their affiliate link?

      • I initially went to AGL compare plans through the TCB link. Then after that signed up using the Wespac link.

        • It doesnt work like that, only one link (the latter one) will apply

    • Top didn't track for me

  • bills always say "actual" reading but never noticed them come round ?

    • pretty sure all electricity smart meters can be read remotely

      • oh ok? mybad
i was thinkin the gas meter

    • It gives me reasons to take a picture when the connection supposed to start and the next bill. I can see on the bill what it states. I suppose verify and do not trust

  • mark

  • This one or Velocity 40k points? I don’t think these 2 can stack up (?)

    • I do not think so. Different offers. They do not mingle.

  • Can I do this and then stack a battery plan next week after install?

  • FYI, they say:

The rates and charges under this energy plan are variable and can change with notice to you. … If we vary your rates, this will generally be once or twice a year, and we’ll give you at least five business days’ prior notice of the variation.>

    • That’s a pretty standard condition

  • AGL control the majority market in Canberra, and they refuse to give deals to ACT customers.

    • They know all the public servants have money

    • ActewAGL?

    • No i believe it won't.

The $200 credit in your link and in this one is just for all customers. But for Wespac (and other banks including St.George) customers, there's an additional $100 gift card.

      • Can we get $200 as bill credit in electricity for internet signup.

    • Yes you'll get the $200 account credit for signing up with this offer. This $100 GC bonus is only intended for Westpac group customers, but its unclear how they will validate that, maybe the referrer page needs to have come from a Westpac site and not from a third party site like Ozb but who knows. If you are a Westpac group customer i would click through from the offer link on their website to be safe..

    • I do not think so. These are different offers. They do not mingle usually

  • Do I have to setup payment method with my Westpac card or account? I'm with Westpac but would rather pay via my Amex

    • I've done the signup and there was nothing mentioned anywhere about using Westpac or STG/BOM/BSA as the payment method.

  • Needs to be more than $300 to get me to switch to AGL.

    • Why you hate AGL?

      • AGL is famous for screwing people over and having the highest cost. They have more incidents sent to Ombudsman than all the other companies put together.

They tried to charge me $1K for the final month in a house when nobody was living in it and nothing was connected lol. They are crooks!

  • The EV night saver plan is decent

    • That's what I went looking for, because I'm a Westpac customer with an EV who has been eyeing that AGL plan. But this offer appears to present only AGL's Smart Saver plan. Still considering it, but I'd have to stay on the Smart Saver plan for 30 days, then claim the credit, then switch to the EV night saver plan.

      • You'll still get $200 credit switching over to night saver

        • It's not offered on the signup link as far as I can see. Only the Smart Saver plan is offered.

  • After trying to sign up and going through all the process the end said it had trouble verifying some personal details. To call them up for help…:S waste of time.

  • AGL website shows 2c/kwh solar feed-in tariff. (not 4c)

    • Shows 3c for me. Maybe location specific?

    • Feed-in tariffc/kWh excl GST.
      1.5

      Looks indeed location specific

  • For energy an Internet, wouldnt you be better off with the $400 bill credits fromt this deal?

Get up to $400 in electricity bill credits with AGL
That's $200 for electricity, and another $200 when you add AGL internet. Simply join online and stay until 30 June.¹ Plus, go into the draw to win an electric vehicle.†
For NSW and VIC residential customers on selected plans. Competition for new and moving customers. Ends 10 Jun 2026.

    • But AGL's NBN internet is terrible by reputation. It's been plagued with problems while in the hands of Southern Phone (see Whirlpool etc). However, it's moving into the hands of Aussie Broadband which should dramatically improve things. I don't think they've taken over the service provision yet though. Correct me if I'm wrong!

      • I was on the chat with AGL 10 mins ago and asked about AGL gas if they have any credit.
They told me they will give me $50 credit for gas only, but I switch electricity as well, they would give me $400 credit.
So, I bought it and switched . Total $450 credit .

Then they mentioned if I switch NBN, they would give me $200 credit for NBN as well. But I refused.

Maybe jump on their chat and try your luck .

    • We have just switched with this deal. Also $150 cash back with Topcashback.
We have gone to the 3 hrs free power plan.

      • Hey there
I was wanting to do the same, but when opening the link via TCB I dont see the agl plan with the credits, only lists the plan smart saver, doesnt mention the $200 credits, are you sure you were able to stack?

        • It appears as an option for me when going to site via the Topcashback link. We are in SA if that makes a difference.
I couldn't see any reference to what plans received cash back. However didn't get the 3 hrs free option via westpac link

          • @tars19: TCB has cashback for all plans that appear when going through their link but for me in Nsw , the Agl credit offer doesnt show up..

            • @Jazzzy-b: Oh, I misunderstood. For our SA address there are 4 options that have up to $400 in credits

  • Just signed up, there was nothing in the form that checks if you are a Westpac customer?

    • The only thing they can check i reckon is whether you clicked through to the offer from a Westpac site, but whether or not anyone will check that is unknown.

    • yup, just did the same after logging in from my Westpac account.

    • If one has this through westpac, I suggest go through westpac page itself

  • Is it possible to future-date the electricity connection while signing up?

  • Already with AGL from previous $200+200 offer (electricity + gas) waiting for 90d to get credits then will shop around again.

    • How long does it take for you to get the credit?

      • Has to be after 90d staying connected with them- beware my electricity bill, they sent me a bill on 89th day (quarterly bill), so going for another cycle…

From memory in past experience they have refunded credits when I ported out, but YMMV?

    • You cannot withdraw the credits right?

  • My current plan with Origin ends on 17/6. This offer ends on 10/6.

Does it mean that I must apply by 10/6, or switched over to AGL by 10/6?

Can I sign up by 10/6 and ask them to switch on 16/6 before Origin plan ends?

And be eligible for the credit as long as I stay from 16/6 to 30/6?

    • I have this question as well - it says "You will be connected with AGL when the current billing cycle ends with your existing retailer." Problem is my current billing cycle ends July 6. Does this mean I miss out?

      • I asked them and they said

'If I am understanding correctly, you currently have your electricity service with another provider, and your billing cycle with them is due to end after 10 June.
Please be assured that you will still be eligible for the $200 bill credit as long as you raise the connection request with AGL before 10 June. The offer is applied based on the date you submit your request, not the date your service actually becomes active.
So even if your current retailer only transfers the service to AGL after your billing cycle ends, which may be after 10 June, you will still receive the promotion as long as the request is lodged before the offer end date.'

        • So in short, it's the sign up date not connection date.

        • Amazing, thank you!

  • I saw a comment about the $400 electricity credit for swapping electricity and internet to AGL.
So I went and checked if it was possible through this westpac deal.

    It is.

I also confirmed with support that I will receive everything offered. ($400 electricity credit + $100 prepaid visa card)

Optimal deal if you're willing to swap electricity and internet is:

    Go through OPs link.
Go through the process to add electricity.
Then it'll show you the promotion for internet. Go through that.

    Checkout. :)

    • Forgot to mention,
internet deal only requires your internet to be connected till June 30th. So I scheduled mine to switch over at the end of may and will switch ISP july 1st.

    • I think $400 is for electricity and internet. This deal is for electricity only where you get $300 net. One may be able to connect with internet after connecting with electricity and get more credit that depends whether support will give you

      • I think $400 is for electricity and internet.

        Yes, like I said
"I saw a comment about the $400 electricity credit for swapping electricity and internet to AGL.
So I went and checked if it was possible through this westpac deal.
I also confirmed with support that I will receive everything offered. ($400 electricity credit + $100 prepaid visa card)"

This deal is for electricity only where you get $300 net.

You go through this deals url, add electricity and then add internet when it says you can (It should also say you get $200 electricity credit for the internet)

So you will get $200 electricity credit from OPs deal, $100 Visa card from OPs deal and then $200 electricity credit for having your internet connected till June 30th.

    • depends - I went with origin NBN and it's only ~$50 per month for 500/50

  • Will the credit from this plan be transferred to another AGL plan later?

    • It's applied to the account you have when you sign up. And stays on that account. So no

      • A plan change with the same provider does not normally result in a different account number

        • Yeah I misunderstood what he was saying.
I thought he was talking about leaving and then coming back later.

          • @[Deactivated]: Sorry about the confusion.

Yes i mean get on the smart saver plan for the credit (maybe stay for 1 month?) , then change to the solar or EV plan. Hopefully that credit still stays in my account

  • Does this stack with the $40 abandoned cart promotion?

    • What is that?

  • Strangely they failed me for credit check despite having excellent credit score and no missed payments etc. however my AGL account was created and connection showing up as in progress. I never failed credit check which is often soft hit with any of the utility retailers before. Has this happened to anyone else ?
