  • Why would anyone sign up for this instead of Amaysim (wholly owned subsidiary of Floptus) for $50 a month?

    • because this will give you a bit over 3 months of free NBN on 500/50

    • Personally on Amaysim now, so was looking for my next switch

      • Same. This is good timing. Thanks for sharing it!

  • Twice had the pleasure of going through sign-up with Optus NBN (through Finder) only for the order to never be placed (no email confirmation either) by Optus - going into some blackhole. Never again - plenty of other NBN providers to churn with.

  • As per previous deal, my previous order couldn’t connect to my property due to nbn unable to provide this service lower speed whilst im currently on higher speed with different providers. Wasted my time speaking to optus

  • So if I'm a current optus fttp 500/50 customer, I can select a different plan (e.g. 1000/100) and get this deal?

    • *Customers applying for the same type of product (NBN or Mobile) must not have been a current or recent customer of that product type within the past 30 days

    • No!

  • Im almost done with my 90 days with optus. Was $350 last time. But need to stay 4 months cos 90 days take me over my 4th month and can only cancel before the debit happens.

    • same position

    • Just got my $350 Visa for February signup.

      • Same. Feels nice.

  • Has anyone actually been paid out by Finder on one of these deals?

I see a lot of criticisms on these deals, but there are also a lot of criticisms on econnex deals and so far my success rate on those has been 5/5

    • Yes interested to find out more too, I've had success with Econnex gift cards, still waiting to find out on TCB/Econnex cashback but haven't yet dipped my toe into one of these Finder deals yet.

    • Was paid out by Finder for the Nov nbn deal, but had to submit a ticket since it was marked as not eligible previously

Have signed up from the earlier April deal, so let’s see what’s the outcome by end of Jul

      • but had to submit a ticket

How was the process to get it resolved? Did they play dumb and frustrate the process (looking at you Shopback) to try to get you to give up or were they helpful and got it resolved without too much effort?

        • My offer was marked as not eligible, Finder support were fine. Chat support was responsive, no long waits and they took responsibility straight away. It took two chats to get it resolved, that is, to get it the "ineligible" removed - I haven't been paid out yet (due in 2 weeks) so we'll see.

I wonder if Optus marks them as ineligible every time or something, there was absolutely no reason for it.

          • @367: Are you still with Optus now? Or did you only stay for the required 90 days?

The T&Cs say stay for 90 days, but I've been told in the comments here I will have to stay until 31st October for this one which is when the reward is paid.

        • I had to email a bunch of invoice/email pdf's and got $350 voucher a few days later. Getting everything together took half an hour and was a bit annoying.

          • @denserham: Did you only stay with Optus for 90 days like in the terms, or did you stay with them all the way until the reward was supposed to be issued?

      • Same got paid out but first was marked as ineligible. Support team was helpful and managed to get it approved like 2 weeks after lodged the ticket

        • How long did you stay? 90 days?

    • Yes, gift card issued on Day 61 - all went well.

    • No, I have not been paid from $350 deal back in Feb 2026.

      • That lot isn’t paid until June according to terms, I’m on the same one

Also you had to do 4 months because of 28 days in Feb

  • Just remember to start your conversations with Optus customer support with "If you don't comply I will lodge a complain with the ombudsman" to avoid them trying to rip you off at every turn!

  • How far in advance can you schedule connection?

    • Based on my experience can't schedule. It wilk switch over very quickly after the order has placed

  • …Still waiting for any progress with Finder for the previous deal in Feb 2026!

    • Terms said June for that lot

  • signed up on Feb for the 3 month for $350 deal. Now it shows "processing" on finder. It also says "Once we confirm you met the eligibility criteria, you'll need to stay with Optus until the payment date to get your reward." and the expected payment date is Jul 30.

So I will need to say with Optus until early Aug to claim my reward?

    • I think you should stay till you get the reward.

They denied to pay my $300 reward gift card saying that I didn't stay till the reward fulfillment date. Chat support said I'm ineligible to receive the reward, gave up.

  • Not Optus again after a recent signup and how they stuffed up the connection and then claiming that a new NBN box need to be sent since they can't find my existing one and the overall nonsense they talked about. I signed up with Telstra and was back online within 10 hours.

  • Optus is a joke of a company, the only thing that was 'keeping' me with them was the EPL, long gone now.

With Carbon Comms now and couldn't be happier.

  • still waiting for my 350 one..

    • how it shows on finder rewards portal?

      • Mines says "Processing", i'm over the 90 days by 1 week. (Day 97)

  • Don't go with Optus if you want playable pings on overseas servers.

  • Anyone know if this is applicable to FTTN?

    • nbn FTTN 25/10, 50/20 and 100/20 is eligible for the gift card.

Check if you can change from nbn FTTN to FTTP. 100/20 is the same price as 500/50 $79/m.

  • Far put so you have to wait till October to get the giftcards.

    • Yea but still saving around $76 when compared to Amaysim's $50 deal

  • Joined last time.

    Very painful dealing with Optus.

They took over the existing Internet when churning, but the Optus Internet didn't work.

After multiple calls, finally worked 2 days later, then billing issues.

    Avoid!

  • @findercomau, can you confirm the eligibility requirement. Is it:

    • Stay for 90 days, or
    • Stay until 31st August?

    Thanks

    • You have to wait for fulfilment in October. From what I heard is if you don't wait till fulfilment you might miss out on giftcard.

      • Are you referring to this term:

*Be a registered Finder member, or create a Finder account after claiming the Reward, and remain a member until the Reward is fulfilled

I took this to mean remain a member of Finder.com.au

  • are we able to choose a future activation / port-in date to start the nbn plan or nah? i couldnt see that option during the whole order filling process hence did not click through

    • No option to delay connection date. They’ll take over your provider pretty much in a few mins, and there’s no option to delay connection even if you call them.

  • Just got my $350 Visa for February signup. Got an email saying congrats. All i had to do was claim it. Giftcard came in after 12-24h.

I was a first time customer with optus and switched from Leaptel.

Downtime was 5 seconds as they switched the service provider over.

    Very smooth and easy.
