Inclusions

• World-class ultralight winter hiking gear & clothing (total pack weight ~15kg).
• All meals, snacks, and hot drinks (excludes breakfast on day 1 and dinner on the final day).
• Two world-class guides.
• Return transport from/to Canberra.
• Extensive preparation package, including a detailed packing list document and video.
• Small group size of max 10 people with 2 guides (5:1 guest-to-guide ratio).

Prize Exclusions

The prize does not include:

• Flights
• Travel to or from Canberra
• Accommodation before or after the trip
• Travel insurance
• Ambulance, medical, evacuation, or cancellation insurance
• Personal clothing, base layers, footwear, or personal items
• Any costs associated with cancellation, delay, injury, evacuation, medical treatment, or personal circumstances
• All participants are responsible for ensuring they have suitable insurance and meet The Adventure Gene’s health, fitness, and safety requirements.

Judging Criteria

Judging will take place on 21 May 2026 by a panel appointed by The Adventure Gene.

To be considered, an entrant must correctly answer the three trip-page questions.

Eligible written responses will be judged against the following criteria:

• Relevance to the Snowies Intro to Snow Camping trip
• Thoughtfulness and sincerity
• Demonstrated interest in winter hiking, snow camping, nature, or outdoor adventure
• Originality
• Clarity of response
• Alignment with The Adventure Gene’s values and style of travel

The winner will be the eligible entrant whose written response receives the highest score against the judging criteria.
