  • I did this a year back with Optus and the best they could do was 4 repeating numbers i.e. 0412 222 XXX etc. I vaguely recall them saying it costs ~$90 once off fee but they forgot to charge me lol

  • Thanks everyone for suggestions. Just tried Amaysim as suggested and it cost $30 for some good mobile numbers. 🙌

  • At this point in my life I remember exactly two mobile numbers, mine and my Wifes. I do not know my kids or my mothers mobile number as I don't know that I have ever physically dialed those number, just stored in my address book and press on their name (or yell at the phone to call them for me).

I do, however, remember a slew of land line numbers of childhood friends and family that are long disconnected as well as the number for Lube mobile, the Reading Writing Hotline, Pizza Hut and of course Jenny.

    • thats firteen firteen firty two

    • Ditto!

  • I got a 04XY XYY XZZ for free when activating my Amaysim, they have a refreshable list I could select from..

    • I thought you could only get numbers?

      • 5318008

      • 00ps

        • That makes 53453 cheers!

  • Are you talking about a mobile number of a 1300/1800 number?

Just pick one that is easy to remember and give out. People don't really remember numbers like they used to and call 1300 MARKETING or it becomes a pain in the backside. It takes people longer to look at the keypad and know M is 6 and A is 2 etc.

Just get an easy number that is easy to read out and give. A number that is easy double and/or triple digits or a group of numbers.

My mobile has 2 x Doubles and 1 Triple. Easy to give out. My 1300 number, not so much. But I still remember it and give it out where required.

    • 1300 GEE K2U ??

  • (045) 8675309.
    Ask for Jenny
    . ;)

  • It took me decades to remember my phone number, it's too late to change it now. It's literally burned into my brain.

  • i got a gold number on a $2 sim

  • Who remembers phone numbers these days?

You look it up on the web and tap on it. If one cares to keep the contact then add it to your contacts.

    • It's not about memorability. They look good on marketing material.

I've had a gold number from the early days. On almost every occasion I give someone the number, the response is, 'That's a good number!'. This is sometimes followed by, 'How did you get that?'.

      • The numbers look good? I don't think that outside of a handful of math nerds that anyone cares if your number has a pattern, or is prime or cubic or anything.

They just type it into their phone not reflect on its supposed beauty.

  • 0410 676767 would be priceless.

    • Maybe 6 months ago. People have moved on. Well, all except 1 by the looks of it.

      • 6-7 months ago

      • The Pope hasn't moved on.
