  • Woolies typo? $270 - $95 = $175, not better than half price.
Intern little too excited with copy & paste

    https://i.ibb.co/5xKc3GHs/Screenshot-2026-05-18-at-5-47-55-p…

    • better than half price.

      For them, not for us…

    • My son is with OnePass 1yr plan ending 29-Jun-26 & re-renewal will increase to $200, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/954201.

Simple, risk free, ~200Gb data, 1 year plan: Amaysim 365-Day is the only option, right…Kogan & Vodafone have no deals & Lyca porting out is troublesome? Thanks

  • Does the 10% discount for everyday extra members apply for GCs and SIM plans as well?

    • I wrote in the post for this SIM as it has worked in the past. Don't think it works for gift cards or all SIM plans sold at Woolworths e.g. Woolworths Mobile.

Everyday Extra members can get 10% off $175 = $157.50 (after discount).

      • And 1500 EDR points are $7.50 so an even $150 in the end.
But we can use gift cards for Starter Pack…

    • Worked for us early March this year. I believe same deal, but 240gb.

  • The finder deal for amaysim is better. $199 + $75 gift card from finder.

    • That’s if finder pays out.

      This is much less hassle.

      Source: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/17551166/redir

      • Yeh they do. Just need a nudge sometimes. 100gb more too. No brainer

        • The $199 deal with 100gb extra is also available from Amaysim website and Woolies. Finder is terrible with tracking these promos. Not only do so many people get shafted but waiting time is 4 months or more. Trying to follow up and spending hours on chat or waiting for emails, when it should be automatic is terrible. When people say its not worth the hassle or anguish they're right. They are only in business to scam. Otherwise they cant make a profit off these deals. They count on people forgetting after months and then getting fed up so they don't bother.

    • Is this for new members only?

    • Amay website doesn't allow me to checkout properly if I just the link from FInder.

  • Any issues porting optus to amaysim?

    • Did boost to amaysim on a saturday afternoon. Got the wtf message that this can take 1-2 business days. Actually took about 30 minutes before I was able to use amaysim.

      • i am on boost and planning to move to Amaysim however, how is the network coverage ?

        • Boost coverage to me is heaps better. You get the full Telstra network vs Optus' wholesale network for Amaysim, but a benefit is that you don't have to deal with Telstra IDs and whatever shenanigans there is associated with Boost…

Amaysim has a better customer support team + eSIM activation/transfer process in my experience

          • @artcvan: Boost does not have full 5G SA coverage compared to the retail plan. Yes, they are better than the wholesale Telstra network, but it is worse than it was years ago.

The call quality on the M1/M420 freeway is horrible, and sometimes I get it connected to my Starlink VoWiFi, and believe it or not, the call quality is better than VoLTE.

Optus does not have a wholesale network, but it does prioritise traffic as Telstra already does.

            • @bjdchwr: November 2025 from Boost Email:

              Network Coverage and Management
Coverage and performance may vary between plans - some offer broader coverage or enhanced features.
Not all network upgrades will apply to every plan.
We use traffic management to help maintain a more consistent experience across millions of users.
Some plans may include data prioritisation. If your plan doesn't, your data speeds may be slower than prioritised traffic during congestion periods.
              5G Standalone Rollout

Telstra is rolling out 5G Standalone - an advanced evolution of 5G technology. Your current plan won't include access to 5G standalone, but your existing coverage remains unchanged. This means:
You'll continue to have access to 5G in areas currently available to you.
In new 5G (Standalone) only areas, you will have access to 4G.

        • In Brisbane boost call quality has been dropping and Amaysim has been better in the city.

But as soon as you leave the M1/M3/M5 etc, you are better off with Boost.

But Amaysim is a big improvement on vodafone.

      • Tbf they always say it'll take that many days in order to cover themselves… I've found that most providers take 15-30min to transfer over anyway

    • Optus (prepaid at least) and amaysim share the same billing system. It's fairly quick, about as quick as a cross carrier port during porting hours.

  • Can u port the number from Amaysim to Amaysim?

    • Lol you must be new here

      Member Since 04/01/2013

      Oh well…

    • No. Port to someone else then port back. Plenty of cheap 28 day options at Colesworth now and next week. For example (all with more data than you would likely need in 28 days):
      - $7 Dodo at Coles from Wednesday
      - $14 Optus at Woolworths from Wednesday (comes with 600 ER points)
      - $12 Boost at Woolworths from Wednesday (comes with 600 ER points)
      - $6 LycaMobile at Woolworths until tomorrow

      • Is there a time limit before I come back as a new customer?

        • Think you can basically come back immediately, but why not use the full 28 days on the cheapy 28 day SIM?

          • @Yapapi: Just worried if they see you as new if you came back too soon, like in less than 30 days?

    • You need to port out, but beware they now have shitty process on verify IDs to connect, tried all 3 PP, DL & Medicare all failed, still waiting for them to get back.

  • any idea when would this deal end?

    • The dates are in the post, before the comment section.

      Available between 20/5/26 to 2/6/26.

  • Same price direct on Amaysim + 20gb bonus.

    https://www.amaysim.com.au/sim-plans/12-month-sim-plans/365-…

    • Everyday Extra members can get 10% off $175 = $157.50 (after discount).

      • Don't forget you can also pay with a wish gift card it you purchased it on discount. Note need to be the full value. No spilt gift cards. Can confirm purchase in store today.

        • Wish or Woolworths GC right? Doesn’t have to be WISH?

          • @JHoliday: I used Wish. I suspect Woolworth should be fine but didn't try.

Personally l prefer to self serve which allows payment via cash and card. Once the person auth you, you can then select payment via gift card.

On card machine they auto go into payment for card. Swapping payments might cause some trouble if it does another auth check.

      • I signed up for 30 day trial of Everyday extra members yesterday and today when I scanned the item, it still shows $175, didnt apply the extra 10% discount. Also I dont get anything on the app to activate 10%. Woollies staff told me the extra 10% is only applicable on groceries not gc and sim plans. Can you clarify how to get it?

  • New services only, or can existing amaysim customers get this?

    • Port out into another provider (eg $2 Telstra SIM) and port back in.

      • Nah can't, I've got a service already and need to add another.

      • I just tried the $2 Telstra Sim, and you need to select a plan during activation. Please correct me if I am wrong. The cheapest Telstra plan was $15 for 7 days and I think 4GB. I ended up porting to woolies mobile $12.50 for 22GB for 30 days, then will port back to Onepass.

        • With the $2 Telstra SIM card, no need to recharge. Scroll down to the option of activating without recharging.

    • Finder deal is way better imo. $124 and 320gb for 365 days. No brainer

  • i am on boost and planning to move to Amaysim however, how is the network coverage ?

    • Impossible to say, it varies from area to area.

If you live in the country, you're probably asking for trouble if you go off Telstra, even with the Vodafone + Optus combined coverage in regional areas.

Capital cities are broadly better from all 3, but there are still black spots.

E.g. Vodafone coverage is mostly okay in Western Sydney, but if you travel on the Western Line on Sydney Trains, you'll find consistent black spots from Strathfield to Redfern that don't occur on Telstra or Optus.

    • Hi. My opinion is Telstra have previously exaggerated their coverage. The ACMA rightly recently called out Telstra's coverage maps resulting an area the size of New South Wales being removed from the map. My experience is there are rural and regional areas where Optus has had better coverage.

  • how long do i have before i need to activate the sim?

    • It's in the post:

Activate SIM within 12 months of purchase.

  • Can you send/receive sms while overseas like with boost ?

If not any other prepaid provider that offers that ? Need to receive 2fA codes like banking, etc

    • I've been overseas about 7 years now, AldiMobile hasn't let me down yet.

    • amaysim yes, I have been using it overseas for last 3 years, easy to get sms messages. There is a thread somewhere on ozbargain about people talking about that and how to do it etc.

    • You need to activate roaming to get the messages while you are overseas. $20 for one year and they give some internation call minutes, and sms

      • For Amaysim or Aldi?

        • Amaysim

          • @Ozgrabber: Ok so Boost and ALDI mobile are the only prepaid providers where you can receive SMS for free?

      • Have always been able to receive messages for free during international roaming on Amaysim without purchasing any pack, unless it has changed now.

        • Not sure for Amaysim, but Optus did change, was able to receive massage for free with Optus when overseas, but had to purchase packs last year when in Japan and China, not happy, switched to Boost

          • @excite: Depends on the date of activation. Optus and a lot of its MNVO of which it owns Amaysim have whiteout any terms about free sms overseas. If you look at Coles, Optus or Amaysim it talks about receiving free sms while overseas while having an active overseas package on.

I remember it was actual on my critical summary on Coles Mobile but its all gone now.

Note Optus is owned by Singtel who is owned by the Singaporean government. This is pretty standard policies for Singtel.

  • Slightly off topic….so if i am currently having a $35 per 28 days prepaid plan with Amaysim, once I buy this card, I just need to stop auto renewal for my current prepaid plan and activate this 365 days prepaid with the same number? What is the right process to do the switch…? Thx in advance!

    • This plan is for new customers only. So you will have to move your number to another provider first. Just get the cheapest one you can for a month. Then you can connect back to Amaysim. Buy the plan before the 2nd June at Woolies or the end of May if getting it on the Amaysim website. You have a full 365 days to activate it after you buy it. So no rush either

  • The amaysim/finder deal is slightly better - assuming you dont mind waiting for the gift card

    • Remember to activate within 20 days too.

    • Did this deal finish? When l check finder website and app there nothing there for amaysim.

      • Yeah it did

  • Stack it with everyday rewards promotion in the app. I had a 10x points and scored 6500 points for 2 sim packs. Also stacked to get discounted gift card in rewards app and scored Amex points as well.

    • I'm a Coles shopper so had a truckload of offers. Spammed activate and scored 10,000 over two sim packs and a midweek shop. Beauty.

  • Thanks OP. Bought 3 last night @$150 after all the discounts and rewards.

  • Has anyone try transfer credit from sim kit in to exiting account through CS? Or I have to port out? What is the best port out solution? Thanks🙏🙏

    • Want to know as well. I think in some previous posts, someone had mentioned they were able to do via CS.

  • Thanks OP. I bought this from a local Woolies yesterday. I plan to port my current kogan plan which expires in July. How long can i wait before porting it over? TIA.

    • Porting is usually quite quick within an hour in general unless there is an unexpected delay. With delays, it could be a few hours or a few days. You would be very unlucky to experience a few days and it's rare.

Otherwise porting is usually quick on the same day. Choose a working/business day to port out and in, just in case of issues. I find amaysim customer service to be excellent when I have contacted them over the phone.

      • What i meant to ask was, i want to ride out my remaining days on my Kogan service before porting over. Wanted to know how long can i wait before i port out to the amaysim that i just bought.

        • Does your starter pack package has an expiry date?

          • @Think: @starcam I have already written in the post description. It is also mentioned on the amaysim packet:

Activate SIM within 12 months of purchase.

          • @Think: It says to activate by 7th July 2026 to get 220Gb, and 200Gb if activated after. So I think I should be good if I activate it at the end of June 2026? When we purchase from Woolworth, the receipt from Woolworth says "$270 activation WAS SUCCESSFUL". I presume that only means activation of the giftcard? I hope I'm not wrong…

    • The 10% works as I got 10% discount on an amaysim SIM card a few days ago. Not sure why your discount isn't showing up.

It's automated at the checkout and we don't have to activate. The discount option shows up on the final checkout page only, just before payment.

      See this comment.

      • Ok, thank you for clarifying. Staff probably doesn’t know about this.

  • My Everyday Insurance 10% discount worked a treat with this. It was my first time using it, so learned that it only appears once you try to make payment (not even when you scan your card).

  • Makes sense, thank you for clarifying.

  • Thanks OP for posting this discounted deal. Grabbed one & stacked with an offer present in everyday rewards app. So 1500 + 352 (app bonus point offer). 1852 points collected.
Activate your offers in the everyday rewards app before you buy a sim kit.
    Enjoy!

    • How to activate the offer in the app?

      • Scroll down to “More boosters” and tap on boost on a range of offers there.
Boost offers before you buy any product.

  • Thanks. Grabbed 2.

  • Hope this is still available tomorrow, its not showing up through the link on the app or browser

    • Still available

  • Is it me or the maths ain't mathing?

  • Onepass is a better deal if you want Optus and don't use more than 200gb. Currently $150 but 12% topcashback. Also if you pay with zip One time card you get another 6%off. (If all cashback goes through comes down to around $130l. Only 4g though, which would suffice most people.

    • Does Onepass include international calls and text?

      • Fair enough, no international calls but if you don't need them I suppose you can save a bit more. Otherwise Amaysim or even Optus when there are those nice cashback deals.

  • Is anyone having porting issues over to Amaysim from Telstra (or in general)?

Been waiting 3 days and customer service are still investigating the issue in the background.

    • It can be stressful porting a number when it doesn't happen in the stipulated timeframe. Although you still have access with Telstra, you do wonder what has gone wrong and why it hasn't happened yet.
I ported from Moose to Amaysim this morning and it took 32 minutes. I signed up directly through Amaysim though and did not purchase the plan from WW.
However, I did not receive the $50 Refer a Friend credit, which is being investigated as well.
