  • It’s also on 12m plan, $83.16pm

    • ATL - $997.92

    • Thanks. Updated the Post with the details

    • Correct, I mentioned in other post as another option for people. Combine it the $45/month Sim promo for 12 months.

  • I’ve been on sim only plans and bought a phone outright for several years, but this deal is tempting.

    • What's the total monthly fee between the phone and the SIM though?

      • Yeah I didn’t realise at the time of making the comment that it basically totalled to just buying the phone at the $1300 sale point it’s at, at the moment.

Phone + lowest plan was like $118 or $128 a month off the top of my head. I just went ahead and purchased the Air outright from JB (got an older iPhone that is definitely needing replacement)

  • A SIM plan has to be with it for 1, 2 or 3 years?

    • This is the TnC on the Optus website for this deal.

      "Terms and conditions
If you cancel early, pay up to $1,299 for device (256GB model) plus your chosen plan costs. Terms apply."

      • So with the 1 or 2 years plan, the total cost within the first month plan cancellation will be $45 + 997.92?

        • You get $25 bonus credit each month for the device on the 12 month plan. If you cancel your plan, you just have to pay out the device cost and forfeit rest of the bonus credit.

  • weird, it says "Minimum cost $1,330.65. Includes device payments over 24 months and one month of your chosen plan fees."

  • Just wait for Shopback post paid plan cashback $200 live again and this would a deal.

    • $170 now.

  • “Minimum cost $1,330.65. Includes device payments over 24 months and one month of your chosen plan fees.”

Not sweet at all, it’s like a trap.

  • You've selected
    Apple iPhone Air
    Light Gold,256GB - 12 months
    $83.16/month
    $60 Promo Plan
    60GB of data
    $45.00/month
    Total
    $128.16/month

Minimum cost $1,318.14. Includes device payments over 12 months and one month of your chosen plan fees.

That totals to $1,537.92 if you stayed the 12-month term.

JB should have a voucher plan coming up.

    • Maybe JB will have this for sim plan $79 + 249 out of pocket.

  • Is $60/mth the cheapest post paid plan on Optus? After the 1st year promo of $45/mth we will have to pay $60/mth minimum for the plan alone? That is quite expensive for phone plan per month.

    • but the phone over 12 months then leave

      • Correct, get the sim for 12M so its like paying the phone per month in the next 12 months.

  • The 60GB for $45 per month for 12 months offer is for "new services only" i.e. existing customers are not eligible.

Does anyone know what the specific eligibility criteria for this are? E.g. as an existing customer, if I port my number away, is there a minimum period before I would be eligible for the offer?

I've asked Optus chat support and been escalated but no one seems to know the answer.

    • if exisiting customer, contact Optus and ask loyalty offer. When I asked them, they offered $30 (50%) for 12months.

      • Thanks for sharing that. I just tried, best they could apparently do was $20 off for 12 months (which almost matches the current $39 per month offer for the first 12 months for new services).
