        Listing says delivered.

    • Acceptable to me. MacBook Air 13" M4 is 1.24kg. The windows laptop under 1kg on the market I can find is MSI prestige 13, but price is much higher at this specs.

    • +1

If it’s a Fujitsu notebook and that light, it’s definitely in the sub-notebook territory, so it’s not really playing in the same league as what we’re talking about here mate!

        • +7

OP isn't a Japanese businessman who needs a laptop that's light as a feather at the cost of $$ and other specs though. Neither are most people. 1.3kg and less than 2cm thick = thin and light to 99+% of people.

I think your comment comes off as much more arrogant than the one you accused it of being.

            • @AsukaST: Maybe you should take your own comment about doing research seriously, and look up the definition of a thin and light laptop. You will find that 1.3kg and 2cm thick is within that definition.

            • +7

@AsukaST: Not everyone has the muscle mass of a newborn. If you’re genuinely buying phones because they’re 30-40g lighter you need to go to the gym or visit a GP for muscle atrophy.

            • +2

              @AsukaST:

Everyone travel overseas at least once a year.

Now I just know you're taking the piss…

My old 2 in 1 laptop weighed about 6kg, I had no issue carrying that around all day in its tablet mode.

        • Got a link to the Fujitsu?

          • +1

@Pete Gabitas: you may Google "fujitsu fmv note u"
It can be as light as 634g only.
Asus zenbook sora is also around 900g only but cheaper than Fujitsu.

            • @AsukaST: Don’t see anywhere u can even buy that and no not everyone travels overseas once a year lmao, I haven’t been overseas in 9 or so years

This one which cheats on weight by using a battery that lasts half as long as the Zenbook A14?

              • -2

@BoltThrower: I believe it's common sense that when it's ultra thin and light, its battery doesn't last as long as its heavier competitors.
From my real world experience, battery life is never an issue.
When I have long traveling time, there are power outlets everywhere. On planes, on Asian/European trains, in airport lounges etc.
It uses 65W usb-c for charging, so it's really easy for me to use the same charger and cables for laptop, phone, earbuds etc. I don't have to carry anything extra.
(Never put your phone charger in checked baggage, there is always a chance of lost baggage.)
When there is no power outlets, I use the same power bank that charge my phone to charge my laptop. When I am inside my car or taxi/uber/rental car, a 12V usb car charger will do its job.
So ya, in my last 4 years with my Fujitsu laptop, I never need to worry about its battery life.

                • @AsukaST: Are you anxiously living travelling between charging stations lugging around a 65W brick that's only going to half-charge your laptop?
There's a compromise somewhere. I'm pretty sure you'd get better power to weight performance on a slightly heavier laptop that doesn't require carrying a heavy charger…maybe a Macbook Air?
You sound like you've done your math, but trading performance for modularity?
Also, your life could be improved with a KFC-eating tank (I'm not one lol) to help carry your stuff.
I'll be one-bagging this year with a 40L 1.07KG Tomtoc. I do need a lighter laptop, deciding between a MBA and a Zenbook.

    • Agreed, thin and lights these days aren't thin and light. My Acer swift 15 inch is under 1kg. LG Gram light as hell. Considering the advancement in components in the last 5-10 years I don't get how laptops have increased in weight.

      • -1

Yes, Samsung and LG make light laptop as well.
But none of them is available in Australia, because Australia is just a dumping ground for inferior products in tech and car markets.
I buy most of my tech products overseas, 1 for cheaper price without GST, and 2 for better spec.

      • I can't believe people would consider 1kg heavy for carrying around for any period of time. That sounds like health problems

Lighter standard form with AMD for a bit less:

Full HD screen if that makes any difference but probably better for battery life

      • Oops yeah, missed that. But for a 14" screen probably ebtter that way

        • +8

Once you've tried a 2880x1800 OLED on a 14" you'll quickly realise there is no going back to FHD or IPS.

    • Is this one good for the price?

      • No, not compared to the OP deal. Get the Intel device in the OP, it is a better deal.

        • What is really the difference, outside of the 2 in 1? Would they not be equivalent specs? I guess screen is better on the 2 in 1 but is that all?

          • @BigHat: Laptops with the 258v are generally a reasonable bit more expensive than ones with Ryzen AI 350 (the Intel 225H/255H are usually closer to the 350 price).

The 258v is a Lunar Lake chip which should give you better battery life and I believe also better integrated graphics than the Ryzen 350. Maybe slightly worse multi-core performance on the Intel.

            • @StingyMan: For someone who doesn’t need touch screen , heard the hinges mechanism might break sooner than the laptop without that 2 in 1. Still is it better to buy this instead of amd one?

              • @itsok: I have read similar comments about the touch screen hinges online. To be completely honest, I haven't used a Lenovo laptop with those hinges before so don't have anything useful to contribute.

                • @StingyMan: Is the lenovo amd one still a decent laptop tp buy for $1597?

                  • @itsok: For the Yoga brand (and the current RAM shortage) I would say it's a decent price. There have been some Ideapads with similar specs that are a bit cheaper (for example this) but don't know when/if they'll come again and keep in mind the Ideapad is the more budget-focussed line.

    • Not a flippable version though despite the "Yoga" name / nomenclature. But I prefer not to use the flips anyway since I had using Windows in Tablet mode..

      • Looks flippable on the Officeworks product page and Lenovo site? Product Code LE83JQ000E. It comes with a pen too.

        • Nah.. I was responding to the one suggested by ATangK which is product code of LENYS05BAU and is using the Ryzen processor. That one is single long hinge and doesn't flip. The OG from the OP of this deal is the LE83JQ00E and does flip around as shown in the pics.

  • How does this compare to the HP omnibook X Flip/ Ultra flip? The X flip has been on sale for $1200 three times so I keep waiting for it to come around again.

I didn't really want a laptop when those sales came up, but now I'm thinking it would be nice to have a 2 in 1 OLED laptop.

If this is better than the HP ones, I'm happy to spent the extra $450.

    • -8

If you want one, don't buy.

IF you need one, I honestly have no idea of their differences.

    • If you need more memory, go for this one!

  • -3

Should get a discount if co-pilot is on there

  • -2

Kind of wild. I'm sure there are some differences under the hood, but I bought a 32gb RAM 1TB SSD 14" Lenovo Yoga for $1,703.00 in July 2023. How sad the combination of the slowdown in laptop innovation (and presumably loss of market scale), plus the hardware LLM crunch.

    • Have you seen how much 32Gb of RAM costs alone at the moment? For the current market this is good value.

      • Oh absolutely. Hence the comment about the "hardware LLM crunch." Not saying this is not a deal in the present moment, just that bang for buck has stagnated (or gone backwards) historically. Can't see that changing any time soon.

    • Whats the processor? Big difference between current and old gen processors price

      • Core i7-13700H 2.4G 14C 20T vs Intel Core Ultra 7 258V.

  • Bought this exact laptop which JB HI FI was trying to peddle for $2400 a couple weeks ago, got it price matched to 1999$ w/ Lenovo official website.
Can i get a refund for the difference (18 days ago / got receipt / got original box)

For reference oled screen is beautiful and laptop feels premium quality. I intend to use it for work on the go and am happy w it.

    • +1

I recently did a "post-purchase" JB HiFi price match refund because the phone I bought was on sale for $500 less 3 days after I bought it, and they transferred the $500 to me.
They specified that they would honor the price difference refund within 14 days of purchase, so you might be just out of window.

    • If you have a credit card with price protection, you could try there. I think the Commbank one that they give to people with a home loan does have it.

Got a 'used' 14 inch ideapad slim 5 with 32 ram, 1tb ssd and ryzen 7 350 with a hd plus oled screen that's accurate for $712 on the Lenovo outlet. No discounts applied.

Has the tiniest indent on the lid that I didn't even notice after first inspection. It's otherwise perfect. Battery 100%.

Its totally worth checking out the outlet evey single day if you are after something now. Laptops come up and sell within a day sometimes but there are some amazing deals to be had if you know what you are after.

    • Was it an excellent refurbished or a very good one?

      • +1

was one of the ones just listed as used. not entirely sure but just thought maybe they are returned laptops shortly after purchase or in my case cos it has a tiny ding. Didn't have a condition listed anywhere. Jut went for it as it was so cheap and could always return it if i wasn't happy with the condition.

    • that's like buying fish & chips

  • This one has the same specs for 1599. Can anyone confirm if this is the same SKU / eligible for 5% price beat?
