ATL for local stock, would be good for anyone looking to upgrade their CPU.

Surcharges: 0% bank deposit, BPAY, Afterpay, Zip, 1% for card & PayPal payments.

Unfortunately I don't have any DDR5 so I will be missing this deal for now (Or until the AI bubble decides to pop)

  • Its an OEM tray CPU.

    • Wouldn't make much of a difference since retail won't include a cooler. Just get a fancy box.

    • if you buy a prebuilt from PCCG or wherever you're getting a tray CPU. There's zero difference between them except one comes with a box

    • Worth paying the extra $89 for warranty from local seller with a ABN in case of failure, Computer Alliance provide a 3 year warranty but I'm sure you can argue for a longer warranty period under ACL. 3 Years seems a bit short of a lifespan for a CPU.

You can also do TRS too if you are traveling overseas in the next 60 days.

  • If OEM tray voids warranty with AMD, will ACL warranty cover you? Effectively 10% off from boxed prices atm.

    • I would say ACL will cover you. I think CA will address if there is any issue with the unit. It's a local shop.

    • Under the ACL you can claim directly from the retailer. Although I don’t know how good CA are with honouring this.

    • they will. CA is obligated to follow ACL, they sold you a product that's faulty? under law they have to remedy the consumer as an australian licensed business

  • I've been closely monitoring 9800 pricing.
The cheapest place to buy from right now is MSY. You're much more safer to spend the extra 58 towards local and better covered stock.

    Clearer to remove any doubts.

    • You mean these guys?

Computer Alliance has been around for quite a while, and I'd trust them a hell of a lot more than MSY/Umart…

      • Don't freak out go to Centre.com instead who are 1 dollar more.

Also decent article from 10 years ago, MSY isn't that bad now. lol

        • CA is local….lordie lord. They are good to deal with.

        • They're not that bad now? Some guy just had his RAM completely stolen from him after trying to get a replacement/repair.

          • @Coolkid21: Correct but under new management, remember msy, pc byte got bought out by umart.

        • Bad retailer (MSY) got bought out by a worse retailer (Umart). I wouldn't buy anything from them where warranty is a concern. Case, air cooler, whatever. Not core components…
