  • Aldi have typo'd the screen res.

    11" WQXGA (2560 x 1600) 90Hz Paper-like Anti-glare Touch display

    • +9

Careful, there are many different specs of tablet, with the same name but different hardware. The screen is one of those elements that gets swapped out to meet a price point.

      • +1

        It looks like this one…

      • Don't be misled by this "sane" warning as it is not substantiated with facts, unfound speculation at best.
This Lenovo tablet and specs has been around for quite a few years with this particular one loaded with android 15. The Mediatek processor has been updated and Lenovo devices produce great screen quality at this price point, I know because I have one.
Compared to my Samsung s8+ this device is super slow, but used primarily as a media device, it is excellent. It only has 4gb RAM and this is it's shortcoming, love the Samsung s8+ but it is 5 times the price.
Don't load lots of apps or ask it to do work tasks, keep it minimal and it will serve you well.
I did try using it for more than media and quickly watched it's performance fall over, then stripped it back to basic apps and as a media device it has worked like a charm for a couple of years and the battery life is very good.
Oh, I paid $169 from Aldi as a sell out item and I'd buy it again at $199, it also comes with a good cover/stand.

        • -1

Well you are a helpful individual aren't you?

See, I too have this tablet. But it was to replace a similar one that just stopped working, and when trying to find a replacement I did a reasonable amount of research. There were different specs at different prices, including the chinese XIAOXIN Pad 11, the Plus version at 12", etc.

8GB of memory is a good idea, as is a keyboard case so you can easily access desktop mode. Haven't used the pen yet.

Being very sure that the cheap version you are getting can be compared to the $320 version is the smart move.

  • +3

Are these any good for media streaming?

    • +4

yes very good especially if this is the 8gb model

      • Will be great but if it’s the 8gb version , need something for running car diagnostics on instead of my phone.

      • That's what we sarcastically say any 4 in the past and 2 and 1

    • -1

I thought you still got the daily newspaper.

    • I dont know about that, but deez knows a lot of about this tablet

    • yes, ideal

  • +13

Website does not list ram amount. Not a good sign.

    • +10

Last time ALDI had this I checked the stock in store and it was 4GB.

    • +1

Yep, will be 4gb like last time and pretty useless.

    • It will be the low end as previous sales, 4gb RAM, see my earlier comment concerning this.

  • What do people use for tablets nowadays? I have an S8 Ultra and still struggling on what to do with it.

    • +7

Always on wall mounted smart home dashboard

      • +1

does that damage the battery/cause it to swell keeping it wall mounted permanently?

        • Lenovo usually has the option to cap charging to 80%, I've had a m8 on the wall for over 3 years and its fine

    • +3

I'm tempted for watching movies/tv in bed or travelling. Jellyfin server can do more than stream to the TV.

      • I only do three things in bed and it's not watching movies/tv.

    • +2

With the stylus? Drawing/art, note taking, whiteboarding, sketching out ideas etc.

Could get some emulators running on it, those expandable clamp gaming controllers and make it a retro handheld console.

    • +1

I watch Youtube and streaming in bed with my tablet. But you have a heavy ultra tablet, so maybe not. I just know i'll drop it on my face and the corner will smash me right in the eye.

I'm also waiting for the new Assasins Creed Jade mobile game

      • I've done that, but it went into the partner's eye.
Can confirm it hurt, and she wasn't happy

    • +1

Read comics, textbooks, note taking (with an external keyboard), watching tv on. Using as a second screen for my windows laptop is useful too.

Honestly, I was using it for the vast majority of my work until recently. I changed over to a laptop as I found the teams implementation a bit limiting (can't remove password on a document) and I wanted to run a local llm (which you can do on a tablet but it's a bit rubbish).

    • +1

Game streaming from my main rig. Mediatek on this wouldn't be too good though.

My s8 ultra is on 24/7 between YouTube at night for me and kids playing games/watching brainrot on it in the daytime.

    • +5

I turn on a show I am watching and bring it around the house with me as I do chores (No I am not an iPad kid but typing that out I can understand how I certainly sound like one 😂).

Otherwise it's good for traveling - the screens in Qantas planes are so low def and pixly there's no point attempting to watch anything from them - so the tablet comes in handy to kill time on a flight too.

    • +3

Watching movies, YT, playing games etc on the sofa/bed etc while not infront of my PC. Especially in winter, rather curl up on bed than sit in front of the PC

    • +2

Tv shows or Netflix whilst travelling for work.

    • +2

one hand holds the the device while in bed, the other hand does something else, like eat chips or salted peanuts or whatever

      • +2

Wow my wife would kill me if I ate chips or peanuts in bed

        • +1

good thing i dont have one

          • @Roe Jogan: You don't have a bed?

            • @tjoy: i have a bed, not a wife, everyone with a wife tells me they kinda regret it a times. having a wife.

              • @Roe Jogan:

                not a wife

                Get a hubby then…

They'll be fine with eating chips and peanuts in bed…

                • @jv: jv dont assume everyone is into the same thing as you, i do have gf/s they are just not allowed to sleep over. ifykyk

                  • -1

                    @Roe Jogan:

i do have gf/s they are just not allowed to sleep over

Do you have more than 2 grandfathers ?

    • +1

Tempted by this for use in a home golf sim (with Rapsodo MLM2Pro Android app), but maybe just keep using my phone and put the funds toward XR glasses instead (virtual screen could be a perfect usecase for Golf sim is the thought).

Concerned about how much RAM this will have

      • home golf sim

        Must be very nice

        • Outdoor setup, gets the job done, but projector is useless in daylight so thinking tablet or XR is the next step for daytime use.

  • Home assistant dashboard panel would be the only reason I’d be remotely tempted

    • -1

Would it have enough ram, thinking about home assistant but very early into it.
Is the hardware and software advanced enough to just replace the physical buttons with a screen?

      • I'm tempted but I'll get disappointed if it is as slow as my current wall mounted tablet. Anyone has any experience?

      • I have an m8 on the wall for HA, i think it has 3gb of ram. Its sitting there on fullykiosk. Runs perfectly fine

  • Is this just the Xiaoxin Pad 11?

    • -4

      No

    • +1

      Yes with a matte display

    • It actually is the same and cheaper to buy from Temu when they have 40% or 50% cash back deal if you don't bother about warranty. The global version actually comes with 6GB RAM compared to 4GB but it doesn't come with a Matte display the AU version has.

  • +5

No mention of RAM, gotta be 4gb :(

    • +1

We are talking about ALDI here…

  • +6

spend a bit more for a xiaoxin pad pro gt at $290
Snapdragon 8 gen 3 chip can handle PC gaming, switch emulation, media and more.

    • +2

Does it have a matte screen? That's the main thing drawing me to this tablet atm

      • No

      • +3

You can get any glossy screen and put a screen protector on it to make it matte.

    • Where do I find these? I searched Xiaoxon pad pro and only found AliExpress links to one with an MTK processor.

All budget Lenovo tablets I've come across have MTK processors so far

  • +3

I posted a deal like this one almost 2 years ago, also for a Lenovo. But somehow even after 2 years, the specs are very very similar…

  • +2

Bought this on Amazon in December for $142.99 but without the case so this deal is so so. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/939527

    • this would be the case if this model also 4Gb

  • I think that's a fair price if this is the 8gb version which probably isn't.

  • +3

I guess it is same one as one from February 2026 which had 4 gb and glossy screen. Same price.

  • Can anyone comment on what stock levels were like in February? Am I likely to be able to find stock?

    • -1

"Past performance is not indicative of future results".

      • Actually past performance indicates that a future device, of similar parametres, is more likely to perform in a similar way, certainly more likely than not.
Simply saying this device is NOT indicative of past devices is baseless.

    • Not Feb but about two years ago (I think) they had 12ish in my store. It was basically the same tablet.

  • +1

how good would this be for kids drawing and sketching, i bought a 400 dollar samsung 4 years ago and its sketching app just keep on crashing.

    • +1

My kids use it and it hasn't crashed on us yet.

    • +1

Back up and try factory reset

    BREAKING NEWS
    I've asked Gemini:

Based on the specifications provided in the ALDI listing (11" WGXGA display, MediaTek 6300 8-core processor, and 128GB of storage), here are the details:
Model: This is the Lenovo Tab M11 (specifically the updated variant powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, often carrying the base regulatory model number TB336FU).
RAM: It most likely has 8GB of RAM (LPDDR4x).
While some lower-end configurations of this tablet globally exist with 4GB, the specific MediaTek 6300 / 128GB retail bundle that includes both the official Lenovo Tab Pen and the Folio Case standardizes on 8GB of RAM.

    • There is no way this is getting 70 upvotes for 4gb of RAM

      • It has apparently been confirmed to be 4gb.

        • Clearly AI is not ready to take over our jobs. Can't trust it.

  • is it good to have it in kitchen area to play google photos slideshow? I don't want to spend money on google pixel tablet.

    • +1

Why not save $50 and get a nest hub
Or get a cheap laptop and install chromeOS flex, you can set up the screensaver as a Google photos slideshow

  • +2

Here's my real life experience with these. Got these last time for the kids and honestly they've been great.
Battery life, screen, RAM all been really good. Pair with Google's parental controls and you can lock it down fairly well for <10 year olds.

This thing will meet your basic requirements for youtube, Netflix, kids apps etc. I'm actually impressed for a 4gb Android tablet, it runs flawlessly.

    • +1

Yeah its a Lenovo. The quality control would be up there with the best just from the branding. But you may start to have issues with the 4gb ram after a couple of future OS updates. Unless you're Apple, the branding still cannot escape the limit in hardware

  • +1

anyone who got this can you please confirm the RAM?
