Hi,
I have a Merida Scultura 400 (2021 model). I just wanted to find out if the Cube Attain C:62 Race Road Bike is an upgrade over it?
Chatgpt didn't seem to think so, but I wanted an opinion from people who ride on a regular basis.
Thanks

Have you ridden it? You have to ride it, as with all bikes. Only you can know if it's going to scratch that itch.
Haven't. They didn't have one in stock.
The Cube 62 has a cleaner look to it with the integrated hidden cables, 12 Spd setup, newer 105 groupset and nicer frame so would be a small step up on the old.
Chatgpt suggested to upgrade the tyres to GP5000 rather than purchasing a new bike.
Not sure what you have on the current GP5000 or Pirelli Zero's are the go
I have Maxxis refuse
I just saw that is on sale for $1999. I bought a Cube Nuroad Pro for $1799 a few weeks ago, but if the deal was on then I would have got the Attain. Cube make a quality bike, I am very impressed with the Nuroad but for the components/price that C62 is a steal. Hopefully mine doesn't drop that much, the staff said it has been very popular and lots of customers are choosing gravel bikes over road bikes.
It's an upgrade but i don't really rate Cube's at all - Polygon in this price range.
For the money i'd get a Giant TCR Advanced/Defy or better yet a Cannondale Synapse/Supersix or trek Domane.
They're a cut above.
At 9.2kg that is a tank. Rather put your money to a second hand rim brake bike or save up for a better (lighter) bike
Do you really need to upgrade? Isnt it going to make that much difference? Is your bike uncomfortable? Not maintained? Need repairs?
If not wait save a bit more to get a bigger improvement in what you have now.
My only motivation is to be able to ride faster and get better at going uphill.
It probably wont be enough of an upgdade to improve your riding - except in the case that it makes you want to ride more often so you get fitter OR your old bike is using 30yo tech.
Bike performance only makes a significant difference to the pro peleton becasue thet are all so close in skill and fitness.
Look into your heart , and I think you’ll find the answer is just buy it. You only live once.
