    I’ve been using this the last six months and it’s a piece of junk!

    Anybody have tips to get a closer shave?

      I would suggest you try the following: Use a dual-edge safety razor or cutthroat. Hydrate your face to soften the whiskers. Use a good shaving soap or cream. Make up to three passes with grain, across grain, against the grain in that relative order.
      You could go to a good barber to gauge it against electrics for you. I will say I have recently had to reduce my closeness to avoid skin infections from razor burn on my aging skin though.
