  • Could potentially wait for the annual Coles 20% off, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't run it this year.

    • When does this sale happen?

      • Usually mid September (2025, 2024 & 2023 for reference)

        • Well the Switch 2 RRP is going up 1st of September so that's going to cancel out a lot of that.

          • @Vool: The coles 20% off theyre talking about is for eShop gift cards so unaffected by price increase

    • I’ve topped up my NSO membership to 2028 already and ran out of gift cards. Wait for September may be a bit too late since the price hike begins 1 Sep.

  • Can do 5% price beat at Officeworks when BigW sales is online. Stack with 10% ultimate gift cards and Onepass 5x flybuys pts.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/960968

It may be the best price before Nintendo hikes the price in Sep 2026.

    • OW will lower the price by 5 cents the day before so they can refuse the price match.

      • If you are early enough before OW updates the price, it is possible.

        • Would you recommend showing up at the local OW as soon as they open?

    • they won't do it the last time because giftcards are excluded
      https://www.officeworks.com.au/information/policies/price-be…

      • I thought that just means they won't price match gift cards, but you can still pay with Ultimate Gift Cards with a price match?

        • yes you can still pay with ultimate gift cards. but they won't price match. so no 15% price difference.

          • @melo4510: Wrong. Of course you can pay with GCs when buying on price beat. What is excluded is price beats on GCs themselves. You buy the GC at 10% discount at Coles, and use it to pay OW.

    • Officeworks website person just woke up and adjusted their price

  • We should reserve a certain amount of LNG for on shore use, and we should reserve a certain amount of RAM for Gaming Consoles from AI!

Won't somebody think of the children!

    • Those big tech giants plan to use AI and robots to replace human in the future. That is why they really don't care about average customers now.

    • Go on then.

  • Will there be a ps5 sale?

    • The BIG W Toy Catalogue doesn't have any prices on PS5 Consoles (or any first party Playstation products).

      Just has:

"Our best price is coming. Check online 09/06"

  • If I’m planning to buy Mario Kart anyway, the this console deal seems pretty close to the bundle price. Does this sale also apply to the Mario Kart bundle, or would I need to buy the game separately? My last console game is Wii so confused

    • I'm guessing not, though also depends on if they still have stocks of those - upcoming bundle is the Pokopia one.

  • i reckon they'll run out of stock

  • I got mine from everyday market cash back. $715 with $150 cashback. They probably do it again

  • Ok deal, although it was sub $600 with the 30% vEveryday marketplace cashback the other day.

  • Planning as a Christmas present for the kids. Is it likely to be cheaper around Black Friday?
I'm not sure how often Nintendo goes on sale

  • Looks like it's 574 (700 - 126) with the everday market deal with the 18% cashback that is currently offered. If this is incorrect, please let me know

    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/1126536791…

    • Where is the 18% cashback? I had a look but couldn't see anything

      • Just checked it now and it looks like it has reverted back to 1% sadly

  • Likelihood of the Switch 2 deal selling out?

  • DEAL IS LIVE

  • I'm still struggling if the pokopia bundle deal is a better option for those that want pokopia.

Buying game key cards sucks. You'd have to install it but still have it inserted to play so no benefit. And buying pokopia digital is like 109 bucks..

The bundle gives you digital for 5 bucks more than the inconvenience of a game key card.

    I'm very torn.

I also can't tell if I even want a switch or I have FOMO because of the price hike and the I'll regret it later when it all goes up lol.

    • Do the lay by option, you can always cancel for $20 fee if you change mind or find cheaper before November lay by cut off date

    • I doubt Switch 2 is going to go down, and not anytime soon, so if you need to sell it the option is there. That's also the advantage of buying the Pokopia card over digital.

    • Having a similar internal debate, logically I shouldn't as even though I've had my Switch (original joycons still work with no drift, but the mini player indicator lights no longer work) since 2017 and I go through monthly periods where it doesn't get touched at all (presently have used it once since March!).

I'd buy it just for portable Hitman (yet I technically have already done the portable Hitman thing with another pc hand held device!). But by the time I decide I do want one, the price rise will have hit. Sadly Mario Kart World isn't appealing to me like MK 8 was on the Switch (essentially the only reason why I got the original Switch in the first place).

    • Already own a switch 2 but agree with your thought process in digital Pokopia. Personally picking up discounted cards to buy digitally.

  • Switch 2 or OLED? It's mainly for (mostly) portable playing for a 8yr old….

    • I had the same question and went with a 2. It's just got more legs. Plus I really wanted to play Star Fox for myself haha

  • Quick get yourself to Officeworks for price beat

    • Just got one from my local store. There was already a line when I got there at 6:50

    • Server there said they usually update at 11am, had few gone already so might need to go to store with larger stock.

    • Got there at 7:30am, no line and got the price beat. Office works Windsor, Brisbane

      • Stock very limited here now. Only saw 2 left

  • I just got 5% off bigw gift cards from NRMA (free membership) and saved the hassle of price beat. Unless you have other Officeworks gift cards to stack of course.

    • Could have price beat and used gift cards. Not ozb enough

    • Just did the same with NRMA gift cards, came to $597.55 with the 5% off. Took 15minutes online getting the cards, placing a BIGW free delivery order. Done and dusted. No mucking around getting coles gift cards and going to officeworks.

  • I just got 5% pricebeat at Officeworks, pretty stoked.

  • I spent 45 mins on the phone to officeworks just now for a price beat to be told, sorry its a different product. LoL

    His reason:
The one in bigW is 1kg+ and officeworks is under 1kg lols

    • Thanks for the heads up man, I managed to get a price beat by telling them that OW put the spec in spec but Big W under feature. They did try to search first but didn't come up, so I told them to search by just the switch concole 2 and the 256 GB will be under feature. Then I also explained that the one in big w spe c is the box while OW is the console, ofc that's just logically speaking just to avoid them using that as an excuse but they didn't and went through with the payment. Free delivery as well since my local doesn't have stock. Good luck if you're trying again.

      • They are asking about part number and warranty information from bigw website. Won’t price beat otherwise

    • Total bullocks. I got it PM over the phone around 8:30am and was ready for pick up in 30mins.

  • Got price beat over the phone for home delivery.

  • Managed to price beat at Officeworks ($597.55) then pay with discounted Coles Myer gift cards. Thanks OP!

  • "Unable to add to Cart" in the online store :(
Tried another browser… yep added fine…
Attempted to log in… "nothing in your cart". "Unable to add to cart"…

Seems Big W really doesn't want me to have one of these :P

Also, why when I log in does it verify via email, then verify again via SMS?

EDIT: Tried a third time to just run through not logged in, but you run into a prompt to log in or create an account when you try to get the payment screen. Attempted to log in again and it did let me go through. Very odd behaviour.

    • Website might be getting hammered with it being the first day of the toy sale?

  • Got the OW price beat this morning with some other items. Thanks OP
    Put away for Christmas

  • Got one from Officeworks this morning too with price beat. Happy as.

  • fyi only 2 months and a bit till they hike it: https://www.nintendo.com/au/news-and-articles/price-revision…

  • JB Bot will price match Switch 2 console and Switch 2 pro controller without you enduring the queue if you have JB cards to use

  • Went to price match, OW beat me to it after pulled away for a work meeting 🤦‍♂️

    • was planning to go during lunch and just bought giftcards from coles for it. damn….

    • They still have the Mario Kart bundle more that Big W though and it works out the same if you value the code the same as physical cart

      • no stock available near me unfortunately..

  • Anyone else do price beats in Australia? OW now matching BigW @ 629 …

  • Got mine from Big W, used a combination of discounted gift cards AND had rewards dollars to be used. I might not use it daily, but I hope to get some serious mileage out of it. I still need to buy a screen protector and a memory card before I begin using it.

  • How long is this deal for??

Missed out on the coles ultimate gift card 10% damn!!!

    Any other similar??

    • How long is this deal for??

BIG W Toy Sale ends on 8th July.

      Any other similar??

Coles 10% off Celebration Gift Card starts next week, which can be used at Officeworks.

      • Can I use that for eShop cards at Officeworks?

        • Not sure, but generally you can't use Gift Cards to purchase Gift Cards.

    • Sale ends on the 8th July but if you put it on lay by you get 20 weeks to pay it off, which can help if you're a little stretched OR if you want to get it for the holidays.

But if you put it on lay by you can't use gift cards.

  • Got JB Hi-Fi to price match and got 6% off gift cards via https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/962006 (deal is also for JB gift cards) coming to a total of $591.26

  • Does switch 2 havw any free games on eshop? First time u
    Interest to know

    • I had a bit of a look (first time Switch 2 user), but didn't see anything particularly interesting. It's mostly the freemium games you see for free elsewhere.
The Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack is a pretty good deal to start with (especially the Family pack) for access to a large library of the classics. Else, there are a lot of very cheap (<$5) games on offer as well through the online shop.
I used Dekudeals to check the price history of various games.

  • was thinking to buy tomorrow but it's out of stock now :(

    • Officeworks has it for the same price, and you can pricematch at JB Hifi etc

  • Does anybody know if the 10% off Nintendo eShop Gift Card applies to the subscription gift cards or just the dollar amount gift cards to be spent on their online store?

    • According to here at the bottom, only dollar amount ones:

      Terms and Conditions
Receive 10% OFF Nintendo eShop Gift cards.
      Cards included in 10% Off offer = Currency load ($15, $30, $60, $100)
Offer available 09/06/2026 to15/06/2026. Available In store Only.
Subscription is subject to a recurring subscription fee taken automatically until cancellation.

    • You can use the Nintendo eShop Gift Card to pay for Nintendo Switch Online membership.

  • This is not really anything special. $629 + Mario kart deluxe separately is $718 which is around I paid for release with a bundle anyway. All you are getting here is $629 console without a game which you will need.

    • Yes, but the price of the console will be increasing to $769.95 from the 1st September.

  • Oh I see. One of the rare instances where it's cheaper to get at the start. Inflation out of control. Good luck

  • Does anyone know if I can use Big W gift card to buy eShop card?
