  • Punch it chewie!

    • What a piece of junk!

      • Never tell me the odds

        • You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought.

    • Well, your manage to keep me around a little longer-ness, it looks like you managed to keep me around a little longer.

  • Anyone have more than one of these giant sets? If so, how do you display/store them?

    • I am fortunate to have just one. It's in a plastic jail: https://www.moduspace.sg/product-category/moducase/

    • Built a coffee table display case from oak and perspex plastic. It's big, wife "accepted" it.

But also going to swap this out with a technic stand so it can be upright alongside the other UCS ships.

      • Pic of other UCS ships?

        • And make sure you leave the geotag on the photo :P

    • I buy. Make. Deconstruct. Sell. Start with a new set.
I think it's just me. Lego people hate me haha. And I hate clutter

      • Deconstruct is easy, repack for sale is hard……

Did you repack every piece the same way?

        • Yeah I go backwards through the manual and bag in numbered bags for the next person

          • @Thinkswithelbow: That is serious hard work….

So how much you get for your repacked set?

I wonder if anyone would buy if I sell it assembled but with all the bags. The person buy it can do the deconstruction themselves….

    • can either wall mount or buy a lego technics stand which gives a ~40x60cm footprint

can also get a homage of this set for ~$100 on aliexpress - looks exactly the same as the OG set does, on a shelf, gathering dust :)

      • Are you speaking from personal experience?

I also have several clones. Don't miss the LEGO name on the studs either!

        • yes - i have the homage version on the stand on a ~60x40 shelf…bought a few years ago and still looking exactly like lego!

    • Its in the original box in my storage 🤣

  • Aaah the set that never wants to die. I bought it 3 years ago and still haven't taken it out of the brown box.

  • Awesome! Bought 3.

    • Cool, you overpaid because it isn't on sale yet.

      • Yeah realised that, returned them and will buy again in 11 days.

    • Everybody knows you never go full retail. You don't buy that? Ask Sean Penn.

  • I'd love to be into lego, but I lack the success in capitalism required to pay a BLOODY GRAND for a lego toy.

    • Secondhand is the way to go (not necessarily this set, still exy for secondhand) for value and also testing the waters.

    • Just pay $250

Or less, if you're willing to shop on AliExpress.

      • Imagine its your IP and you spend so much time and money promoting it. Then some PRC scam bag steal your hard work and sell it for one fifth your price!!

Sometimes you bunch just make me sick….

        • a lot of the money here goes straight to disney - have you ever watched a pirated film?

        • Lego just made a record 2.4b USD in profits.

Im literally shaking in anger that shareholder value wasnt higher because of aliexpress

        • Disney bought someone else's ip, then spent time and money destroying it.

        • So you guys think it is ok to steal someone's IP because they make a lot of money out of it?

Assume you bunch also think its ok for people to steal in supermarket because Coles and Woolies is making a lot of money every year?

    • Yeah Lego is crazy expensive. I definitely wouldn't be given this as a kid (as so expensive).

I do love Lego but I'm keen to see other brands give them a run for their money. The Mattel car brick sets are impressive and way cheaper.

      • It's for adults with money to burn, or nerds.

  • This set is retiring this year so if you dont have one its a great price to pick one up.

    • Is it actually?

  • Expensive plastic for landfill

    • No one landfills Lego.

If you don't want it, at least sell it for sth.

    • Please tell me where your council dump is located. I'll be there with bells on.

  • One day I would love a big set like this. But the pricing is outrageous.

    • Don't feel bad about spending a small fraction on clones — the patent expired long ago.
Unless it's a personal barrier for you, in which case disregard. It's your money after all.

      • Nope.

        Compatible bricks - no issue.

Copying same design and not paying Disney royalty - no can do.

  • What the hell is an aluminum falcon?

  • LEGO prices are insane!! At this point, you could buy a Bambu P1S, a few spools of filament, and print the pieces for a similar cost. Except you’d be getting a whole hobby out of it, not just a single set.

  • I have this set, loved the build, hate the set. It just a display piece. I’m scared of things breaking off when I pick it up and spending ages putting it back. I bought a stand for it, omg that was stress in plastic form

  • Didn't you watch the LEGO movie? Use THE KRAGLE.
