  • I ordered one last time.
Not 100% sure why, except I felt hard done by as a teen when I saw the cool things Amiga could do in the magazines.
I reckon these will hold value so it isn't a big risk if I don't fall in love with it.
And I do feel a bit FOMO if they end up selling out.

I probably wouldn't have put down the money on a passion project on Kickstarter, but I figure if it doesn't happen, Big W will be good for the refund.

    • I dont think these will hold value (my Thec64's havent) but its not that expensive and I dont regret my pre-order.

NB I dont know why this is a deal, I paid this much in Feb for my preorder?

  • I was just toying with the idea of dual boot commodoreOS to get some old school amiga nostalgia this might be better, thanks op

  • SB has 10% CB at the moment, bringing it to $242.10!

    • What's SB?, too early for me…

      • I had to ask ChatGPT to figure it out for me. “ShopBack has 10% cashback at the moment.” It’s annoying when people write in code..

        • Thx👍

  • Anyone has luck with emulators and a stock of games in storage.

  • From June to December… Hope it actually eventuates.

    • Retrogames has a good reputation

  • Do these have a floppy drive? I have about 500 floppies out in the shed.

    • No it doesn't, and Amiga floppy drives had special hardware that doesn't exist in modern floppy drives.

AFAICT, the only way to get the files off Amiga-formatted floppies is to find a genuine Amiga that still works and has a working floppy drive.

      • Update: if you have a really old PC with a motherboard that supports two floppy drives, then you can use the second floppy drive with ADFREAD software running under windows, according to this webpage: https://www.winuae.net/download/

Search in that page for "adfread" to get the details.

There are other ways to read Amiga-formatted floppies, but they all require special hardware. Those methods are listed on this webpage: https://www.amigaforever.com/kb/13-118

    • There may be some enthusiasts on YouTube who would love you depending on what you have.

I wish I knew what happened to my Amiga and Collegovision.

  • The cashback shown is misleading. It's showing the cashback rates for BigW marketplace, this item is sold by BigW themselves.

The TopCashBack rate is currently shown as 4%, which is the BigW marketplace rate. BigW's cashback is 0.5%, considerably lower.

  • So tempted, but i'm so happy with my Mini A500, and doubly so now i've finished the working keboard for it
