That's one of the reasons the game received rather mixed review score. I'm too lazy to install it on my PC to try (had ultimate edition so I got this free from Microsoft… I reckon it is a PlayAnywhere title). I played both Gears 1 original and the Ultimate edition too much years ago so haven't really played much of this.

@LongJohn92: Thanks for confirming @netsurfer and @LongJohn92. Such a shame devs needlessly remove features from the PC version. Like surely it wouldn't have taken any additional effort to include it since the console versions already have it?! I'll just get it on console then.
Can we disable screenshake in this version?
It wasn't an option in the previous remaster
Reloaded is just an updated port of the Ultimate Edition (the remaster which you were referring to).
But according to this web page yes there's a setting to turn off this screen shake. It's shown as in the game settings as camera shake.

I just went googling and apparently you can indeed turn it off, which is great.
It was fine two decades ago on a 4:3 CRT, but it's just too egregious for my old eyes on an ultrawide now - I might have to grab this version and have another run through the campaign
That's good. It should improve the gameplay frame rate a lot turning it off on modern pc systems.

I quite enjoyed revisiting this game.
Still a damn good game by today's standards despite its original being released 20 years ago
