      Mi Pay only. There is a list of supported regions on Wikipedia (Australia is not on it).

      They call the operating system HyperOS 3, but this isn't the same Android-based HyperOS found on Xiaomi phones. It's their own proprietary real-time OS and it doesn't support android apps, like Google Wallet.

        But it can connect to Xiaomi's EVs (<3y top design, vs 10y failed Apple car ;) & smart home devices…
        I will never waste time to pay by watch when the phone wallet (my Samsung wallet can store memberships, vouchers, etc & far superior to watch hype).
        I use (Xiaomi) Amazfit band 7 $45 special & happy with most important tracking. I don't waste time with tiny screens. Not even S23U can compare with 4K screen productivity.

    A smart watch needs to run Wear OS to be "smart", otherwise it is just a fitness tracker with notifications.

      Xiaomi does make a Wear OS watch with a Snapdragon chipset, with very similar naming scheme. Costs a lot more though.

      Bro this Xiaomi Watch runs RTOS, while other models and manufacturers choose Wear OS. They are all smartwatches, just different approaches.

      Fitness trackers, as in their name, mainly focus on tracking activities. Later notifications are added to catch up with smartwatches. But their features are very limited.

      Anyway, the differences are getting smaller. Just dont suck up to Google software, it's not all good 🤣

        Compare much less financially strong Xiami building smash-hit SU7/ultra, YU7 EV in <3y & "migthy" Apple marketing Co failed after 10y >us$10 billions project (Xiaomi only $1.4B) for SU7 that Ford CEO doesn't like to return after 6m testing.

        Main thing is you get access to the Play Store and all its apps. Oh also mobile payments. Google Wallet is a god send when you start using it on your watch. Any mobile payments on a wearable is actually amazing regardless.

            @McMaferMur: Garmin also costs both your arms, a leg, and a kidney for something comparable. Unfortunately, not really a good option either for many people (out of my 5 banks, only 2 of them have Garmin Pay from my knowledge.)

    Can I use this phone as a wallet to load my bank cards? Lucky I bought the jungle green two days ago noting there is a 14 days return policy.
    I'm using Xiaomi Phone 15T Pro at the moment, will it sync the notifications?

    Sorry to say it's a nice piece of crap! Got the Xiaomi Watch 5 (Wear OS model) and it's the worst software on a smart watch.

    This one is pretty much the non-smart version of the Watch 5.

    I think it's better off getting the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro - Also 40% off = $89.40

      Do not agree, the bang for buck is strong in these Xiaomi watches

      Sure the S series aren't a full blown smartwatch & can't use them for NFC payments they are still a slick sports watch for cheap

      I'd say the Pixel 1 would run out of juice about the point this one hits 90% battery life remaining and for some that rates highly.

        This is a giant Mi Band. Decent battery life and fitness tracking features, but once you go up to a certain price threshold you'll start wanting wireless payments and apps, and only Wear OS does that.

        I had a Huawei Watch GT once, great smartwatch for the price but there's not much else to it other than fitness tracking and notifications. Sold it for a Mi Band 9 as it does the job with less (and more importantly less weight on my wrist) - If I'm going up a tier I want wireless payments.

        Note: Just to add, this watch does support Xiaomi's own Mi Pay wireless payment platform, but it is only supported in China and Europe, not Australia. So if you're living in Europe or China then great, but not here.

          I have personally never had a wearOS so maybe I have to experience it to know it. But honestly for some people like me, this seems to be good enough as long as fitness tracker is accurate and reliable.

          In terms of apps, from my Mi Band 10, Xiaomi has its own apps/functionality like events, calendars, alarms, timers, weather, etc that honestly satisfy me enough for a watch (perhaps there are even more on the S5). As much as I would love to have a mini phone on my wrist, I don't know how practical that would be. I carry my phones with me literally everywhere, so I'll most likely just pull out my phone rather trying to do the task on my wrist. But again maybe it's something I have to experience to know.

          I do agree having NFC payment on my wrist (for something supposed to be flagship) would be great but it seems to be capable of it, just restricted by software/region. Hopefully, Xiaomi will find their way to support it in the future.

          If it was the full 269-299 RPP, I would probably not even consider it but getting it for 40% plus off justified it for me.

          Edit: Plus I am paying extra over the Mi Band 10 Pro or Redmi 6 for the look. I like the way it looks, closer to a regular watch with round face
