  • Math doesnt check out

    • I am the third type, between the ones that can and cannot count.

  • I'm curious what the market for this is. Obviously cheaper than a smartwatch with full blown WearOS (or an Apple Watch) but I feel like there are too many sacrifices to be made once you get to a certain price point

Talking as someone who owned a Mi Band 4 before jumping ship to an Apple Watch SE and Series 7… and for $149 RRP it's a bit insane for a fitness tracker essentially

    • Cheap GPS watch. A lot cheaper than a Garmin.

      • Fair enough. I haven't used the Mi Bands/Smart Bands or whatever they're called since the 4, as mentioned, but at least back then, I think the experience wasn't as good

I just think I would rather save up and get into a WearOS watch or Apple Watch SE and call it a day. Though I imagine people who are buying this don't care about their wrist having notifications and other connected features like mobile payments, which is fine. Just means I'm clearly not the target demographic…

        • "I just think I would rather save up and get into a WearOS watch or Apple Watch SE and call it a day."

          The opposite for me.

Sick of the sht battery, and owning a Samsung doesnt help. A 2 year old watch5 is so slow after one of the major OS update.

          • @SetTheFaqUp: I charge when I'm in the shower and on the Series 7 and up, that's enough for my watch to be full… so no issues here for me on battery. Really I haven't understood the battery issues cause there is a lot more that a WearOS/Apple Watch can do vs a fitness tracker that is inching closer to the size of an Apple Watch.

Can't speak about WearOS cause I haven't owned one (despite being on Android full time). My brother uses a Watch4 Classic and he says it's fine so, take that for what it's worth I suppose… tho unsure what he even does with his watch.

          • @SetTheFaqUp: same here. sick of battery. had multiple samsung finally this year gave up and move to garmin 28 days battery.

        • my mi band 9 pro gets notifications connected to my phone but yeah I mainly like it for the 20-30 day battery life, especially since i only wear it for runs and workouts anyway. I dont like having something like a watch on my wrist during the day otherwise.

          • @Fernan: I mean it does seem appealing overall. Just isn't for me cause I can't swallow the price for a non-smartwatch and no mobile payments

            • @artcvan: fair enough, does suck especially considering the chinese version do have mobile payment

        • There’s a lot of saving up to do between $89 and an Apple Watch. You could spend $79 to get an Apple Watch strap and use a small piece of cardboard with the time written on it for the face until you’ve saved the rest?

          • @dealbrowser: Also a fair point… I did point out RRP however initially. An SE 3 is $399 for the 40mm, so a $250 difference between the Smart Band 10 Pro.

Yes it's a big difference still, but imo, worth the savings for the people who would utilise the features from it. Such as myself

        • Redmi Watch 6 is most of the way there. I have the Watch 4 and get notifications.

Only downside is that I can't pay with watch, or reply to notifications. But big deal.

Having to charge a WearOS watch every two to four days did my head in, now I have to charge only once every fortnight. Game changer.

          • @adrianhughes1998: I almost exclusively pay with my Apple Watch nowadays… so big deal to me unfortunately is mobile payments.

I also don't really care about the charging aspect. I mean, I've enjoyed 2 week battery life on my Mi Band 4, but my Apple Watch is essentially a phone anyway, so charging whilst I take a shower isn't a big deal to me.

            • @artcvan: If it suits your needs then perfect. For me I just prefer to pay with my phone instead of watch but all good

    • I love auto/mech watches and wear as daily life, but take off and don't wanna damage those expensive things when doing sports or going to gym. so i have tiny sports band on the other wrist (mi band, cant remb the number try to get the band 10 cheap on sale OZB deal, but their monkey business pissed me off, so i just don't bother).

i had apple and sammy ultra. such big watch (46, 47mm) with such poor battery life, won’t touch them again until them can at least last one week…

      • I think in re. to the battery: it's really a mentality shift that you need to make if you want an Apple Watch or WearOS watch to work

I used to also own a sports band (Mi Band 4) and loved the 2 week battery life. But ultimately, a sports band can do workouts, receive notifications, control music from your phone, and probably a couple other things (that require an active connection to your phone).

A smartwatch on the other hand is akin to your smartphone. This device on your wrist can do mobile payments, make calls and send texts on-device, connect to 5G, run apps that talk to the internet, browse the web, stream music, have independent maps and directions, and even manage your banking for some banks. If I had cellular on my Series 7, it could replace 85% of what I do on my phone.

And that's why I don't believe we'll ever see a mainstream smartwatch reach a week's worth of battery life. Ultimately you can't do that unless you're disabling the features which make it a smart watch. And at that point, you're better off with a sports band…

        • the problem with smart watch: their screen is too small to be used as a real alternative to smart phone, not to mention the battery life…

          • @alexGoodwin: I mean, I've used the Apple Watch SE and Series 7. The 44 and 45mm screens don't bother me. Ultra is even better with 49mm…

I wouldn't want to survive on using my watch only for months on end, but it would work well on a pinch. Battery life again, not really a problem. I charge it when I shower and it's usually close to full by then. Rinse and repeat. Or I pop it on the charger for a quick top off before I sleep.

        • So you don't have a phone and go out and about with only the smart watch? I guess it is cheaper than buying a top of the range iphone then

          • @argamond: Well not what is implied here… I said I could if I had cellular. Realistically not getting far when using a GPS Apple Watch.

I do own a phone to pair my Apple Watch to, but I could ditch it hypothetically once everything is set up.

        • The highest and best use of the apple watch is pinging your phone when you misplace it.

Nobody streams music to them and the Dick Tracey thing gets old.

That might just be me, though.

  • Showing as $149 for me, with no discount?

Edit: You have to apply coupon at checkout.

    • How did you get the code?

      • +1
Edit: there is a collect button under the price

  • Got one of these arriving tomorrow or Tuesday. Want an OLED screen and basically want it for notifications and time. So I'll turn off all the fitness stuff and make the battery last a bit longer. :)

  • No NFC still by the looks of it

    • Ugh, thanks. Some posts are saying yes to aus NFC and many aren't.

      Can anyone confirm for sure?

  • Thanks OP got one. I had 400 extra mi points something I must have done with my Mi band 7 pro. so got it for 84.40

    • Same here, good deal.

  • Xiaomi band 10 is great for swimming recording. It can detect heart beat rate in water. No button, no leaking. I'll try the 10 pro now.

  • I ended up getting the Green colour Xiaomi Watch S5 for $165 with the 40% discount which seems reasonable considering it just got released.

  • I have been used Mi Band 10 for around 4 months. Before i upgraded to Garmin. Well Mi Band 10 pro is good for this price. If you want something light and battery last long go for it. It is two times better than fitbit charger 6. Worked well with iphone.

  • Nearly bought it n checked the specs its doesn't have speaker nor mic, a need for me.
    Good price though.

  • I'm a traditional watch wearer. I like my old school auto watches
So have used a mi band for several years now, the slim line form factor looks like a bracelet, and I barely notice I'm wearing it on my other wrist. All I use mine for is tracking my fitness, steps and heart rate. Works fine for that. Battery goes forever.

  • Heart rate accuracy is very good on the Band 10 according to the Quantified Scientist. I guess we can expect at least equal accuracy with this.

  • Since when did the Xiaomi Smart bands get so expensive? I remember getting one 5 years ago for like $50

    • Tell me about housing too.

    • You can get the band 10 for $57.80 at Amazon now.

    • It's weird because nothing else has gone up in price in the last five years.

    • Yeah under $50 for band 4 and band 6 etc

  • Do all the new account sign on bonuses for another $8 off in cart.

New users can go through a couple of easy hoops to get further price reduction from points.

400 points from new Mi account
400 points from downloading the Mi store app and logging in
900 from clicking share button at top right of any product page 3 times (just click, not actually sharing)
1700 points total = $17 off from whatever you're getting.

Getting the black Watch S5, comes down to $144.4

Don't convert the points into coupons. You can directly offset a purchase by redeeming Mi points at checkout, there's a checkbox near the payment button.

    • Thank mate, you've saved me $17!

      • Nothing but down votes on another thread for exactly the same post I made. Glad someone else's post that saved me could be payed forward to you.

    • you sir, are a legend and a scholar

  • Careful,!!! Has not NFC

  • Sweet! I was expecting this thing nine months ago.

  • Anyone had theres shipped? Nothing at my end. 😪
