[PC, Steam] Free - Linebound @ Steam

Linebound is free-to-keep for the first month post launch! Grab it while you can!

One player draws; the other navigates. Together, you reach each exit.

Linebound is a local, asymmetric, co-operative puzzle platform game for two players. One of you is the Artist, drawing platforms directly into the pages of a living sketchbook in real time. The other player is Sketch: a hand-drawn character who is brought to life inside the book and must hop through its puzzles and platforms.

The Artist sees the world from the outside. Sketch lives inside it. They need each other to progress. With an intuitive, easy to learn gameplay-loop, Linebound puts its focus on player to player interaction. Communication is key, as trust is needed to effectively dot each i and cross each t.

Linebound takes place inside a hand-drawn sketchbook. Pencil-scratched environments, crayon-colored platforms, and doodled creatures fill each page with charm and personality.

Features:

  • Asymmetric local co-op - 2 players, 2 different experiences
  • Real-time platform drawing mechanic
  • 15 hand-crafted puzzle levels inside a living sketchbook world
  • Hand-drawn art style with pencil characters and crayon environments
  • Built entirely around communication and cooperation

Important: Steam Remote Play Together or Parsec is required for online play, as Linebound does not support it innately.

  • Hard to believe that another similar game called Crayon Physics came out almost 20 years ago (freebie).

It later became Crayon Physics Deluxe (Paid version is on Steam)

    • That game is amazing! Love it so much.

  • Reminds of "the incredible machines" franchise

    • The reviews on the Go to Deal page are universally positive. Only takes a minute to browse them.

      • Well thank you for your insight on how I should base my decisions on the opinions of 15 random strangers that may or may not be real. I feel so much more enlightened now. This board is a joke. Neg my comment till you go blue, boys. There are things I've scraped off my shoe that have had a bigger impact on my life than your votes and opinions.

        • You're carrying on like a pork chop.

          • @Jack Scallywag: And by carrying on like a pork chop you mean you have zero comeback? Basing whether or not you neg a deal on the view of 15 reviews of questionable origin is indefensible, so let's go the personal attack as a distraction. Just a sec, I have to tend to something sticking to my shoe.

            • @syousef: I see you're having a bad day. Get well soon! ❤️🎉

              • @Jack Scallywag: Yes I'm having a terrible day being a pork chop, champ. Have the day you deserve, you utter legend.

    • The issue is with the posts for games that are shovelware asset flips. This one looks to have a decent idea behind it and that it might be worth sinking a bit of time in. It also helps that the description doesn't look like it was copy pasted directly out of an AI tool.

    • Observe empirical evidence. Update your assumptions.
