  • The new 10 Pro is slightly more expensive in another deal FYI.

    • I think more than 50% extra cost is a bit more than "slightly". Still a good deal if you need GPS on a watch, but I think most people would prefer this one if they don't need GPS or the larger screen.

      • $80.85 I bought it for the other day

        • If that's true why not post it here then? The only post here for the Xiaomi Band 10 Pro is $89.4.

          • @studentl0an: It was the main launch day deal thread.

            • @xavierod: The only launch special I can see is the Band 10 for $33.

              Have you got a link?

              • @studentl0an: Mi17 launch deals page 2. Props to dchrono.

New users can go through a couple of easy hoops to get further price reduction from points.

400 points from new Mi account
400 points from downloading the Mi store app and logging in
900 from clicking share button at top right of any product page 3 times (just click, not actually sharing)
1700 points total = $17 off from whatever you're getting.

Getting the black Watch S5, comes down to $144.4

Don't convert the points into coupons. You can directly offset a purchase by redeeming Mi points at checkout, there's a checkbox near the payment button.

                • @xavierod: I think you bought it for that price + 15 minutes of your time to do all that work. That's a bit of a difference to saying you just bought it for $80.85.

                  • @studentl0an: Took about 5 mins tops. Don't do it then and pay extra. Every deal on ozb is a voucher or code or hack. No different here

                    • @xavierod: "Every deal on ozb is a voucher or code or hack."

You're not serious are you? This post isn't either. Most posts here aren't. Cashbacks aren't even allowed to be put in titles.

      • commented this in other threads but I prefer these over the pro models - wasted my money on a previous pro model of miband and came back to the standards. I mainly use fitness trackers for the gym and the pill design is far more comfortable if bending wrists and using straps constantly. the 'pro' really just means a slightly bigger screen, onboard GPS (will never need if you're bringing your phone to play music anyway) and the claim of more accurate sensors, all other features are the same

even battery life is the same - pro has a bigger battery and bigger screen as tradeoff

        • tbf I prefer thin and out of the way but went with the Smart band 8 pro instead of normal Smart band 8.

it's not as "thick" as you might think, because it's much less square than a garmin or apple watch. more like a vertical rectangle.
to me it was out of the way and also because it's extremely light. the silicone band that came with it was a bit too rigid though, probably good for durability but it cut into my skin a bit. so ordered a $8 different colour silicone band off aliexpress (just the one with best reviews and push through hole type method) and it was much much softer and the comfort issue was completely gone.

I couldn't do the super thin vertical display of the normal Smart band. just difficult to read and see for me.

    • yeah, I bought that too…
Will let the wife choose the one she wants and I'll get the reject :)

  • Aren't the new models 40% off at the moment on the Xiaomi site?

    • they charge shipping under $69 on Xiaomi site

      • Buy two

        • just wondering jv, how many smart bands have you tried?

the 8 Pro was my first. but already feeling the itch to upgrade just because I can afford it.

the 10 Pro doesn't look that different tbh. the changes/upgrades seem to be so small you can barely notice. slightly better sensors? curved 3D display? new watch faces? which is telling me not to bother.

          • @skibidigrimacmoggr67: I have the 7 pro

            • @jv: thanks for sharing that.

seems then I should wait at least 1 more generation of Smart band pro before considering upgrade.

one major difference I forgot above is the display brightness, double brightness on 10 Pro of 1500 nits (2000 peak) and my 8 Pro only does 800 nits. but I watched reviews last night and seems the bubble 3D glass of 10 Pro creates reflections on the glass, making it a bit harder to see the display.

anyhow I got used to the 800 nits of 8 Pro it's fine, I remember day 1 testing under the sun and I could still see the time easily with the simple large watchface I use.

if any use for you in the future. I recommend these japan channels which review each new Smart band and similar.
Gadget Log (for simple overview and sensor accuracy test): https://youtu.be/Sq51EEjDHSM
              and
Zaki Labo (for bit more in depth, they usually show timer/widget function etc): https://youtu.be/4O4qvzLMnzI

I watch both with auto translate subtitles. also if there is no sensor test in the Gadget Log video. usually they release 2 videos of each product, first is overview, but second has the accuracy test %.

              • @skibidigrimacmoggr67: I ended up going for the S5…

                • @jv: sounds like a nice upgrade.

if only Xiaomi enable NFC for their global models then they would be really popular and be the one to beat.

                  • @skibidigrimacmoggr67:

                    It has NFC.

I can see I can add to my wallet some UK and EU banks, but nothing in Australia.

                    sounds like a nice upgrade.

Yep, at around $150, not bad…

ok some progress then. last time I heard it's only compatible with Wepay in china..

    • Not sure that deal was obtainable from what I can see….

      • My order is out for delivery.

        • Still available at that price?

          • @JuryWheel: yes…

            https://www.mi.com/au/event/offer-exclusive-deals/

You need to add the 40% coupon.

Smart Band 10 works out to $53.70, so if you order two, you get free shipping.

I ordered the S5 which now appears to be out of stock.

            • @jv: Thanks or the tip 😀

            • @jv: Where to get the 40% Coupon? It's not automatic?
              Thanks for the tip too.

              • @Mamajo: Click on the 'Collect' button, then they will be applied in the cart.

  • These go up in price? I guess it used to be aliexpress before

  • Sorry new to the smart band fitness tracker world. Need a budget friendly and good tracker watch. So is it a good choice and price to consider?

    • Yes

  • This vs the Redmi Watch 5 Active?

    • And has anyone had any joy with an alternate app to use? The native one feels a little clunky… OK, by "clunky" i mean my middle-aged eyes struggle to read the times on the sleep report…

  • How accurate is the fitness tracking, especially for calories? It doesn’t need to match expensive watches exactly, but how reliable is it overall?

    I’ve seen mixed reviews.

    • You can't actually measure calories burned with a smart watch in the way you can measure heart rate. They are all just guessing.

  • Looks and reads like a Galaxy Fit3 which you can pick up for a little more if you prefer that brand.

  • This is 52 delivered on Amazon business prime last time I checked
