I'm still rocking IPS 21:9, but that's moreso due to manufacturers neglecting the already niche 3840x1600 resolution.
That being said, it's not really a problem if your brain doesn't know what it's missing out on.
e.g. I didn't care about curved until the monitor I upgraded to happened to have it, and now for 21:9 it's definitely a must. It certainly doesn't help that my old flat 34" is still being used in the house and so I've got a constant point of comparison.
im still on my 3440 x 1440 premium va from msi since 2020! I was thinking of going 32 standard ratio but I think I really like ultrawide as well. My VA is starting show its age though with pinkish tints on the sides recently :(
Xiaomi has their new 2026 ultrawide on special atm which is an upgrade vs mine - colours, contrast and refresh rates wise but been readinga lot of bad qc on the previous ultrawide xiaomis going bad after just a few months.
@ozchobie: If you're thinking of a 32" 4K it's worth considering the pixel density.
The 3440x1440 you're used to is a great resolution, assuming it's 34". I've always felt a PPI (pixels per inch) of around 110 is such a sweet spot for monitors, and the 27" 1440p, 34" 1440p, 38" 1600p range all achieve this. This means that going bigger just gives you more screen real estate, rather than shrinking or expanding the pixel size.
32" 4K is just more pixels squished in with a PPI of nearly 140. At least for my eyes, I didn't feel there was much of a difference in fidelity at all, and it was certainly not worth the trade-offs like performance loss in gaming. I promptly returned them both times I tried it.
Each to their own, and it's definitely worth trying for yourself if you can source from a vendor with a good return policy (like eBay plus.) Regarding the super cheap panels, I'd only really consider purchasing them if they were being sold by a reputable middle man, like Amazon or eBay plus. You've at least got some decent recourse that way.
Also, if you use 2 monitors, make sure they are at least closely matching in pixel density. This is an absolute must, windows will scale horribly between them otherwise.
@duckduckering: true about good return policy! and yes about mine being 34. I think it suits my workflow and how I really like having windows side by side. A lot coming out are 38-39 which doesnt really suit my space and I think it's really too long. So yeah 34 is perf! I dont even think I need 4k :3

Is that only because most UWQHD 34" panels are VA because they want to push the higher framerates?
I honestly don't know for sure.
Considering VA is such a gross downgrade from IPS, the reason has to be financial (as is usually the case).
VA is likely cheaper to make, and perhaps it was surmised that a cheap IPS panel is more likely to cannibalize sales of OLED, than a cheap swamp monitor. Making it similar to how we used to have to choose between TN and IPS, I suppose.
For $229, it's an okay buy. When I got mine, I found a stuck green pixel. A few weeks later, I found a new dead pixel. The overall screen image quality is okay, but nothing like the equivalent sized Dell monitor I use at work. The manufacturer was happy to offer a refund.
I have this monitor and it's ok.
Hdmi ports weren't working so just hooked it up via displayport.
Considering I got it for free from vouchers, I don't care. Would I buy standalone out of my own pocket - probably not.
Whats the screen size in cm please. I dont think the dimensions on amazon are correct. Says only 60cm wide :S

Bought it based on this post and had it for a couple days now, quite happy with it.
None of the 1-star reviews seem to be about the 3440x1440 IPS panel. Hopefully lasts me a couple years.

This may be a questionable panel, but so many manufacturers have pulled out of the 3440x1440 IPS game in favour of OLED that monitors with these specs are now so few and far between. They've since gone up in price so much that one may as well go OLED if they're gonna pay that much.
But this is definitely more of a why not price. As long as it's working on arrival (some reviews have reported immediate faults,) it definitely may be worth it if one can get a good couple years out if it.
