Motorola Moto Tag 4-Pack $75 (Was $175), 1-Pack $18 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Harvey Norman

280

First time I've posted a deal, let me know if anything needs fixing.

This is cheaper than the last deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/951527
Suspect its an EoFY sale, and because the Moto Tag 2 is getting closer to being available in AU

  • Sucks that these are exclusive to Harvey Norman in Australia…

    Unable to price-beat/match anywhere else.

  • Unimpressed with the one I bought for testing. It goes offline for days and I have to continually delete it and re-pair it to the app again.

    Battery: Normal

    • hmm, works fine for me, having 3 of them

      • I only have one for myself so I may have simply gotten unlucky. Still, I've bought other trackers to test. As always, ymmv

  • Works generally OK, but for some reason I got tired of replacing the batteries, not sure what the issue is. Currently running 3 of these, and the batteries run out at all different times. Could be cheap batteries.
Would be nicer to have it rechargeable

    For those who are wondering:
those are the rare non iOS tags that have UWB and also compatible with ALL airtag accessories which make it quite compelling on paper

    • I find the uwb hit and miss on Android particularly with distance and direction, instead I have to play marco polo with the finder until I press the sound button.

      • yeah, I'm not sure if it is any good but I suspect it is better to have it than not

        • Agreed

        • To me UWB would be the only reason to buy and you are saying it doesn't work very well. The USB-C rechargeable ones from other brands are cheaper and so easy to charge.

          • @dollarone: Not able to use rechargeable for checked luggage though.

    • Might be wrong battery size?
      Check yours.
Correct battery size is CR2032 (20mm diameter, 3.2mm thick).

I've seen people who say battery doesn't last pop CR2016 or CR2025 batteries in these.
Make sure your firmware on them is the latest as well (2.0.104 is currently the latest).

      • yep, correct battery and latest firmware

        • My experience is slightly under 1 year on 1 battery. Duracells.

  • Why is it cheaper to buy 4 individual ones as opposed to a 4 pack?
HN did the same during their BFCM sale when I bought my 2 other ones from them.

  • What is the news on the Moto 2 tag considering some of the feedback on these?

If I remember correctly, not so accurate if trying to find another list phone or keys etc and you need to rummage around.

  • Loving it! Honestly, not much difference from the Moto Tag 2, so I stuck with Tag 1, especially at this price. The 1 pack deal was so good, but after calling customer care I managed to score 3 units at $17 each. Also used my GU Health rewards to get a gift card at 5% off, so even better value overall. One tip, I initially ordered Apple AirTags for the kids but returned them when I realised they beep when the kids move around. Moto Tag doesn't do that, so much better choice for me.
