  • This or a 9700x ?
Besides 3d cache seems it performs similar , but less wattage and newer architecture

    • If you do decide on the 9700X. This link with coupon EOFY15 and the PayPal discount = US$204.49 / ~A$286.16

Previous all time low was A$340.

      • Wow that’s cheap,
Got mine from a Temu credit back deal (not ShopBack)

    • Get the gpu

    • i have a 9700x and i'm happy with it, bought off Ali in October for ~$410, down to $380 after TopCashback.

  • $253 USD for me. For some reason with my account I can never get the same price as your posted.

    • Here's a breakdown

US$260.31 on the product page, plus the coupon, then the instant discount by selecting paypal and finally the 'tax'.

      • Where is this options? Is it in PayPal app or AliExpress app?
        Click "See currency options"

        • That's explaining how to do exchange rates when paying during PayPal checkout. It has nothing to do with the PayPal instant discount at checkout.

Add to cart, go to checkout, apply the coupon code in the post, select PayPal and then you'll see the price I screenshotted.

          • @Clear: So PayPal will be the one converting the currency exchange rates not the bank?

          • @Clear: I just ordered it.

It came out the exact price on my credit card. Thank you.

  • I'm very tempted but I'm just going to keep waiting until Zen6 comes out. The cheapest Zen6 should be faster then the 7800X3D with its all new (DUAL) 2x memory controller reaching 8000MT/s + at 1-1 clock with the CPU.

    • OK, cool.. just sharing? lol

    • You'll be waiting around forever if you keep hanging out for next gen tech. I rather part way with $330 AUD and enjoy the upgrade today rather than waiting til March next year

      • Well i do have a Ryzen 7700 & RX9060XT 16GB game at 1440P.. i dont think i'll get anymore FPS with that GPU moving to a 7800X3D or even a Zen6 CPU but i know for sure Zen6 will make everything else i do on my PC much faster.. apps & windows ext… Where the 7800X3D is actually slower in apps due to 300Mhz less clockspeed vs the 7700

        • Maybe you should have stated you have a 7700 and your use case in your first comment. Others could have provided feedback catered to your situation/circumstance and likely agreed with you but instead you got sarcasm and broad feedback related to 90% of people looking at this deal (me included) who may be sitting on the fence with an am4 rig.

          • @Jazza2400: DDR5 prices are still high so AM4 will live on a little longer i think…
I'm very glad i ended up upgrading all my PC's with last years Ryzen 7700 for $210 deals on Aliexpress

I got myself at the same time.

            Corsair 64GB (2x32) DDR5 6000 CL30 for $256
            Klev 48GB (2x24) DDR5 6000 CL30 for $210
            Kingston 64GB (2x32) DDR5 6000 CL36 for $240
            and
            Klev 32GB (2x16) DDR5 6000 CL28 for $159 right before the price rise. ..

I also posted all those deals on here and they barely got above 10+ 1 votes.. today they would break 500+ 1 Votes at those prices

            • @vid_ghost: Unprecedented times I say! I ended up caving and getting this deal as a bit of a project pc to use with sodimm (so dumb) adaptors as I have a 5700x3d.

              • @Jazza2400: good luck.. I've seen some people on youtube needing to go down to as low as 3600MT/s with DDR5 on So-dim adapters to make it 100% stable… i guess thats where the 3D cache will help heaps.

          • @Jazza2400: I've got an Intel 7700k in desperate need of an update. Can anyone advise a mobo that could go with this. And the ensuing windows install afterward.

        • I have the ryzen 7700 as well, and the only trouble it has is with GSGs like Crusader Kings in late game, and with mod heavy Bethesda games. Every else seems to run great, so I'd say it's not worth the upgrade yet

    • Not sure why people downvote reluctant non-buyer posts like yours when they come with a rationalisation. If you're not on the platform already the surrounding market remains miserable. If you are on the platform then you should know that the memory controller shared by Zen 4 and 5 is genuinely abominable—if you low roll, like me, you won't even be stable on expo timings. x3D chips mitigate a lot of the performance loss from having to run worse timings, but even then for me these gains simply don't justify this upgrade for most people because even my very bad 7600x mauls most games at 1440p. Unless you're very sensitive to 1% lows or playing esports it's very hard to make a case for this and it then makes perfect sense to wait on the swansong generation for the platform unless you are going to squeeze extra value somewhere or unless you know you'll be satisfied on this forever.

  • When you can buy the rifle but can't afford the ammo.

    • Laptop ram and sodimm adaptors. I managed to snag 16gb of 5600 on fbmp.

  • Hot damn. I've managed to snag some ddr5 laptop ram and some sodimm to dimm adaptors. I really am thinking of making a janky setup with this (subject to 4800-5600 max memory speed).

I saw a prebuilt desktop at officeworks the other day which had sodimm modules in it. I suggest anyone looking to build ddr5 use the adaptor and snag some cheaper laptop ram for this purpose (tide you over until you can actually get ddr5)

  • Thanks man just bought one, picked up the 9070 XT 30 mins ago for $780 and now this

    • How did you get it for that price? Is it new or secondhand?

      • The other deal at the top of computing right now.

    • BRO WHERE DID U GET THAT DEAL?

  • This is a good price :) i remember when $550 was a good price for the 7800X3D.. in the past i paid $440 for a Ryzrn 3700X on sale… CPU's are so cheap these days

  • How long do things from Ali take to ship in peoples expirences?

    • Under 2 weeks on average.

    • I got some plushies within 7 days the other week it was unreal

  • Do I need to enter a promo code? I have $36 instant discount. It ends up at 254 USD

    • Yes.

      • I just realized it was the wrong listing.

        Ordered it. Thanks!

        • And I forgot to put the code in the coupon fields of the deal oops haha

  • 32GB DDR5 RAM is double the price of this CPU.

    Wtf is this madness?

  • Due to posting limits here's a whole lot of extra AMD CPU deals that I asked AliExpress for. Sadly the 5500X3D sold out before I could share it. Anyone is welcome to post as individual deals.

As usual be sure to double check other listings in case any are cheaper.

    • cheers for the share!

ended up combining purchase on the 7500f, 7700 and an aliexpress 5500x3d for a combined $660 (with about $50 cash back, so 3x cpus for under $200 each)

    • Thanks, I got the 9700X for A267.05!

  • The temptation to get this plus a 9070xt for under $1150 is killing me right now…

    • But then ram, ssd, psu (maybe) and then I start shaking my head

      • Exactly. RAM and SSD say “You shall not pass!”

  • any 8700Gs by chance? don't need a dGPU for most things

  • Would it be a significant upgrade from 7600? I'm very tempted now

    • You'll see better performance in the 1% lows thanks to the extra cache. The extra 2 cores won't really make a difference for gaming.

    • Are you actually cpu-limited in anything that you do right now? If not, don't bother

    • I play flight sims, upgraded from a 7600 to a 7800x3d. It has made msfs 2020 a lot smoother, especially on the ground, very happy with the upgrade.

  • Everyone is sharing their pc timelines, so I thought I will share mine. I went to a Mac, got a Mac Mini M4 Pro specced up a bit for $3000. I paid using giftcards and got a whole $300 off. So $2700. I will probably be able to sell it in 5 years for $3000 seeing where the computer market is going. By then 32GB of Ram will probably cost $1000 and a 1TB SSD will probably cost $1000 as well.

  • OK I caved. Any good deals on AM5 motherboards? Can have dimm or sodimm ram

    • Same sigh now the headache of finding ddr5 at reasonable price.

      • I found a smol one on fbmp for $50 that'll get me by

      • I got 16gb of 5600mhz sodimm for $50 and an adaptor for $20 this is how I'm going to roll. I may only get 4800-5600mhz but at least it'll be working. Jankmaster. I just need to find another with equivalent timing.

  • Let me know when DDR5 drops… zen 6 will probably be here by then though!

    • 5 years minimum. A whole generation of nerds won't know how it feels to build a gaming PC. They will start to go out and make friends which is bad news for the gaming industry.

    • Sodimm to dimm adaptor will let you use ddr5 laptop ram in a desktop motherboard.

      • Does it work with this CPU and any mobo?

        • I'll find out soon, it should work with any mobo. I tried it in a ddr4 because I bought adaptors and it worked
