Free 3 years/45000km servicing worth $1017 on Jaecoo's cheapest model. Slightly larger than a Tiggo 4 with better specifications and features.
8 year unlimited kilometre warranty. 8 year capped price servicing.

And the cheapest Toyota is a Yaris with hubcaps for $33k 😂
Toyota love to have an unnecessarily large number of trims. The Chinese have figured this whole thing out. A model with most stuff, and a model with all the stuff. That's all you need.
Toyota is a very reliable and well built car with decades of experience and engineering behind it. What the hell is Jaepoo?
Will they be the next Daewoo?
I was thinking the next Hyundai. Excels used to to be cheap and everywhere.
Definitely remember the $13,990 d/a manual Excels that lasted more than a decade. Like the old Mirages.
But things were built different then and less electrics to go wrong.
@Juice08: Alot didnt actually last long, especially the autos. So many were sold, super popular price point with the funky colourful advertising. But a big % were landfill well within a decade. Mirages were better build quality.
My mate just retired his Excel. It had over 500k kms, would not die.
@smartProverble: Same. Mrs’ mum had one sold it with 250k before she lashed out bought a nice car. It was a manual and it took a beating.
the next Daewoo and get taken over by GM? Like Holden too? Unlikely.
1.5L engine is pretty small no?
1.5L turbo 108kw (76kW/t) is normal for this class
And none of them are performance cars or advertised as performance cars. Both are regular traffic cars
108kw would be more than a 2026 corolla
@Brick Tamland: try comparing the standard corolla's and not the one that is nearly 3x the price of this
@shxhshzhz: i find it funny how toyota license tech from BYD… cant they work out their own electric hilux??
also its funny to see aussies wank over oriental yellow japanese cars like as if tojo came and fucced their grandmother… and she liked it
its merely a conveyance… your landcruiser 79 isnt your personality.. is it? no?
YES, especially in a car this size.
You sound so stupid its not even funny.
If china was going to use kill switch or some fantasy that you think from that second the chinese car makers would be bankrupt instantly
Use a little bit of brain before posting rubbish
80 odd years of calm???
Have you forgotten how many countries the West has bombed in the last 30 years?
@frostee: Quit the race baiting. Its pathetic. The bloke was obviously referencing world wars. And look if another one happens we are buggered. Period. Owning a chinese car whether its landfill or not and whether they exploit it in some way or not, we are buggered. All of us.
@squattington: I’m not making excuses for the atrocities the west has been involved in (or instigated). It’s actually irrelevant to topic. Just sayin that conflict isn’t over. There’s more to come. And the west doesn’t have the upper hand this time in my opinion. China has been playing the long game. If they want; when they want; the west is doomed. War is not kinetic anymore. And hey. Just my opinion. You’re welcome to make a cogent rebuttal.
@Skronkman: my opinion is the west deserves to lose
if you elect the people in charge then this is the result
ask yourself why a country that makes enough food for 100 mil. people cant feed 27 mil australians…
i look forward to the day pauline hanson takes over
then you'll see some shit
@tonyjzx: I look forward to that day. No guarantees but I doubt she could be worse. If she sux we can vote her out. Democracy. That’s kinda how it works. Love it or leave bro.
@Skronkman: i would wrap myself in the australian flag
i would not wrap myself in the israeli flag but maybe that's ok with you too
dear leader cant ever be wrong
i own property all over the place here, you? why would you leave that?
@tonyjzx: You’re on a tangent. Take a bex and a lie down. Come back when you have something relevant to the discussion to add.
@Skronkman: shalom my friend
i'm sure your kinds is confused… dont we hate those types… and yet here we are eating 71 yo red muff
First of all, you believe that all the countries around the world are dumb enough to allow China to "install" "drones" in tens of millions of homes, but you also believe that China is dumb enough to think about doing anything with them.
In the theme of free trade I think they’ve even encouraged it. Folly. Only now are they starting to realise it.
In a completely unrelated point, mods can we please have an increase to the blocked commentator quota, as 50 is not quite enough these days?
thanks for reminding me that i can do that
Let’s revisit this in 5-10 years time. I’ll be very happy to be wrong.
Youll be on some other nutter bandwagon though, so it doesnt count!
On topic. Nice comeback.
@Skronkman: they said the same shit during covid
china cars dont buy them
somehow them 2021 gwms and shitters are still around
@tonyjzx: On topic. Not. Again. You should join your schools debating team. They need an excuse to lose. You’ll do fine. Twit.
You disappeared for 10 years from OzBargain from 2013 to 2024, what did you get up to? 🤨
Like my ozbargain history has anything to do with the topic. But typical of the you types to do the ad hominem attacks. Play the ball. Not the player. Pathetic as an excuse for rebuttal. Tell me why my argument is incorrect.
@Nillionaire: What do you think I’m hiding? I’ll be honest with you. What are you hiding? To be fair…
Like you never forgot your password to a website before and it took you some time to remember it?
TP-Link doesn’t ring a bell?
I wish I lived a life where I thought I was important enough to be the victim of a kill-switch from a nationstate actor.
Me. I prefer money. And I like to not spend money when I don't have to. An actual tangible improvement to my life.
Couldn’t agree more. Hence we’re on OB. I’m not judging, just trying to open peoples eyes. China plays a long game; and has a long memory. I truly hope I’m wrong.
You don't have to when there's a proposed bill (2021) in the US to add kill switches to cars. And when western leaders have openly stated they like Chinas governing model, why is it so hard to believe? All the tech and billionaires are meeting in China while also darting between Davos to discuss our futures.
It's really not that out there when it's openly discussed for you to read and listen to?
No worries mate. We're all just trying to live our short life, in peace. There isn't some grand conspiracy to disable everyone's cars except on your cooker pages on Facebook.
Don't try to explain that on here, people just want cheap rubbish :) Same as me, but I don't buy CCP spyware
Me too. I can’t let (profanity) have a platform without a right of reply. Democracy at work work. Until this post gets deleted of course.
I don't completely disagree with you. I certainly believe that there is spy tech in their cars. What I don't think they have mobile kill switch bombs.
Surveillance is valuable enough for them to make assessments and react.
I myself just got an EV but avoided Chinese manufacturing for this reason.
I don't have anything to hide but I don't want to contribute to their mobile intelligence.
keep that tinfoil hat on tight
Would rather Chinese drones now over Peter Thiel and the Glorious USA’s bullshit.
Why is the monster radiator grille so cringe-inducing?
1.5l engines need lots of cooling.
Following BMW apparently. But…you can buy alternate / custom grills from Temu…
What a world!
it's the price you're paying. A rip off Range Rover, but it's $25k.
1.5L turbo 108kw
The product specs dont quote a 0-100 time.
if the EV is 7.7 secs
this thing is probably 15 seconds.
slower than a holden astra from 2001.
people should always test drive these things on a motorway at 110 and see HOWWWWWWWW LONNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG it would take to overtake a truck doing 100kmh
The Tiggo 4 with the same drivetrain has a 0-100 of 9-10 seconds so this thing is probably 10 seconds, not 15.
1.5L turbo 108kw (76kW/t) is normal for this class
this is 16KG heavier
about the same as a 2003 corolla
they all perform the same
they're all about 1.4 tons and really people see only 108kW and 210Nm and panic
OK its shit to me but the torque curve means its does 0-100 in 8-9 secs
i see those chery gwm shitter 1.5 turbos everywhere even as taxis and the owners look like they're suffered under china fingernail torture
ie, the same drive experience as every cheapo fwd box
they just want to get to work and shops on time
funny that
good advice. I have heard their CVT arent as good as toyotas and honda but i could be wrong. Must test drive if spending all that money
Is this available for viewing and/or test drives yet?
Nice a car that actually has green as an option.
Seems like a pretty nice shade of it too which is rare for green
Or you could buy a car that doesnt have servicing.
like?
Tesla. Bit more expensive then this deal though..
The word "but" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence.
The sheer determination of users on Ozbargain saying whatever they can make up to make a Chinese car deal look bad is a spectacle to see
yeah you can parallel it to the rise of certain renegade politicians… tbf this is a bad deal though
turbo 1.5s are kinda a big compromise but hell… not everyone had GR Corolla money
Some guy genuinely believes china will turn this car into a bomb in your garage.
Lmfao
Why not?
Nice colour. Wonder how many make it 10 years without any major issues.
At this price selling it for $5000 after 8 years isn’t a bad option.
i feel people are planning their cars out even better than their education or mortgage…
i would look at selling this shit like at the 4yr mark and moving onto something better and letting the next poor slob get 4yrs warranty on it
that brings us up to 2030… ask yourself what kind of world it is then
i'd probably be looking at spending more money on a better car from a better company if you truly want to sit in this shit for 10 goddamn years
Jaecoo LOL
Growing Facebook group with tips, experiences, issues, etc:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/jaecooj5australianowners/
Considering this, the upcoming hybrid spec and Honda HR-V. The latter feels around $7000-8000 too expensive in comparison though it comes with Honda reliability.
So tempting as nothing comes close in value at this price bracket and this deal is crazy good.
For the popcorn folks looking for the china bad comments I have them summarised here:
- "CPC has a kill switch built into this car ready to turn on when WW3 rolls around"
- "Straight into the scrap yard!"
- "The 0-100 is terrible"
- "Rather buy a used (GR) corolla, it's got the same power"
Some extras I'd like to add:
- "Enjoy the bad resale value vs. the toyota I paid 10k more for"
- "These are being subsidised by the CPC (like most car companies around the world)"
these dipshits like Chery cant even get a local OTA server working which is a requirement of OTA updates
and in reality its main character syndrome… president Xi doesnt care about the deadbeats who buy $26k chineee cars
does XI want to stop them from going to centerlink ndis colesworth and the TAB pokies???
That's a whole lot of car for 26k drive away.
