Cheap label maker on clearance at Big W, a fair amount of stock around. Delivery should be around $8 for metro if your local doesn't have stock. It's better going in store than c&c and risking cancellation, but then you might waste a trip if the stock isn't there.

Portable Label Maker: Compact and lightweight for portability, making it easy to label just about anything, anywhere
Prints Custom Labels: Choose from 5 font sizes, 7 print styles and 8 box styles
Preview Text Effects: See font effects on screen before you print with a graphical display
Save Power: Auto-off functionality when not in use
Use with Authentic Dymo Labels: For best performance, use 12 mm LetraTag® LT Labels in a variety of materials and colours

No Amazon price match as yet, currently $29 there.

Thanks to Bargain Radar where I spotted it.

  • Note razor/blade or printer/ink model. Refills are exy; I haven't tried compatibles (lucky to pick up a bunch of genuine ones for free).

If you can qwerty keyboard better.

  • This is the very old model. Picked one up for the kids stuff. Hope it works well…

  • Consider the smaller niimbot printers as they are just so much better. Refils are also super cheap from Aliexpress (but so are Dymo from there too).

    • I have to strongly disagree with niimbot, it seemed great at first but after one year all of my labels were sun faded so much that it looked like a blank label, and a lot of them were peeling. Perhaps for light use niimbot is fine but for long term labelling dymo is far superior

      • Strange, I have to strongly disagree with you as I have the opposite effect here. I just took this photo of a Dymo label which faded after a few months sitting on a shelf with no sunlight in the office: http://imgur.com/a/SkzcjvD

That was a real Dymo label purchased from Officeworks too and was about the most favorable conditions for a thermal label.

The Niimbot ones I have printed from years ago haven't faded at all and stuck on fine.

EDIT: I found more faded Dymo labels: http://imgur.com/a/Ea996Cm

        • Hmm, that is strange, anecdotally my experiences are definitely the exact opposite. I guess no labelmaker is safe!

          • @ploptoilet: Labelmakers are thermal printers. None of them can survive heat.

If you want them to survive, print ink onto sticker pages.

            • @ATangk: My dymos in my outdoor workshop have survived sunlight for a long time and have not faded at all

          • @ploptoilet: Same here I have quite a few at home in the kitchen where some sunlight comes through, and on many other items in other rooms for years, not a single one ever got faded.

  • I had one with this keyboard layout, but moving to a QWERTY layout on a new one, and it is a lot easier.

  • (some) Refill tapes are half price at Amazon currently (2 packs for $10)

    • Are they all the same?

  • Office works pb

    • You might get lucky but their policy excludes clearance items.

Stock liquidations (i.e. competitor clearance products or goods sold by a business placed into receivership)

      • I just cleared out officeworks airportwest.

  • Recently got given a similar model. They are very handy things to have. As others have mentioned, the keyboard layout is more of a struggle than you might think, but I'm not printing labels enough for it to really bother me. Haven't had to buy replacement tape yet, but hoping it's the sort of thing you can get cheaply off AE.

  • Yes for all the people asking I've had no problems with aftermarket LT refill tape from Aliexpress

    • Do you have a link that you used? Thanks.

  • I have purchased refills from Ali express.
They are as good as genuine.

  • Thank you OP! Managed to get a price beat done through the Officeworks hotline for $11.40, including free delivery, because I have a OnePass membership.

    • Do you have to call OW for pricebeat?

  • Thanks @hamza23

  • Thanks OP.

OW did not price beat because it's a clearance item, so just bought from Big W.

    • Same experience they opened Terms and Conditions page to show exclusion list (Clearance or Liquidation Items are excluded).
