  • From browsing, do I understand correctly that the UK is not covered in any Europe (e-)sims?

    • Hi. The UK is covered on all our eSIM / SIM Cards

      • Yes, I realise that now after further checking. The separate 'Europe&UK' sims threw me off. Why do you have those?

        • Honestly, it’s more of a legacy product title that has stayed the same for the last 10 years. The main difference with the Europe & UK SIM is that it includes a UK-based phone number, which can be useful for travellers spending extra time in the UK who want a local number.

  • japan esims cheaper than travelkon

    • Hi. Yes, TravelKon does have competitive Japan eSIM pricing. If you haven’t used SimCorner before, we’d love for you to give us a try. We back our products with 24/7 customer support and a 100% money-back guarantee if the product doesn’t live up to your standards.

      • Im looking at the 30days 10gb japan esim option
is it the same type of service as travelkon?

        • It looks very similar, but I can’t say for certain. With data eSIM plans, there can be many differences behind the scenes, such as how many local networks the eSIM can connect to. For example, our Japan Flexi eSIM connects to both KDDI and SoftBank, whereas their information only appears to mention one network. Also, generically speaking, even when providers advertise 4G/5G, the actual experience can differ. Some eSIM providers may apply speed throttling or have different network priority settings. So while the plans may look similar, they may not be the same in network access, speed, or overall performance.

  • @OP how is your support? I've used Travelkon before and when there was an issue they were quick to respond, which is what I need.

    • Totally understand; reliable support is critical when you’re travelling. SimCorner has been around since 2012, and customer service is something we’ve always prioritised. We offer 24/7 customer support, so if you have any questions before, during or after your trip, our team is always available to help.

      • Thanks, bought a 22-day global eSIM.

  • Does the Japan SIM offer a Japanese IP address? Some of the cheaper eSIMS that I've purchased are usually 3HK (Hong Kong) or Singtel (SG)

  • "Your days of service will start when the eSIM is connected to a network. This will be the day that your service commences."

Does this mean if we buy for example a Japan Unlimited Esim and set it up before we go if it connects to a network it could start the days of service countdown?

    • For the Japan Unlimited eSIM, the service only starts once the eSIM connects to a local network in Japan.

So yes, you can install and set it up before you depart. The plan days will only begin once you arrive in Japan and the eSIM connects to the Japanese network (Apologies for the unclear information).

  • I have a trip in November. If I buy today will it last for me to activate it in November ?

    • Post says 'must be activated before 30 December 2026', so I would say yes.

    • Hi, as End3vour noted, the esim / simcards must be activated prior to 31 December - if you are travelling in November, then that will be fine for you to buy today and use later in the year.

  • Does the South Korea SIM offer a local IP address?

    • Hi. Unfortunately our current South Korea eSIM / SIM offerings do not have local IP addresses. However, by next Monday, we anticipate having local South Korea eSIMs that will provide a local IP address.

  • reading the reviews from website. reviews from March 2025… and some of them are 5* with a negative comment… Has anyone actually bought from them?

    • Hi Trammmie. SimCorner has been around since 2012 and we’ve served thousands of travellers over the years. You can also click our OzBargain business name and see our first OzBargain post was back in 2014. We have genuine customer reviews across multiple platforms, including Google, Trustpilot and ProductReview. Like any long-running business, not every review will be perfect, but we always try to resolve issues quickly and fairly.

If you haven’t used us before and are travelling soon, we’d love for you to give us a try. We also offer a 100% money-back guarantee if the product doesn’t work as expected.

    • Yes I'm quite interested in knowing why other sim deals have reached 50+ votes but this one has not

who is the carrier for this one?
is it local or does the data get routed through other country?

    • Hi

This eSIM is from Orange but will run on the local networks in Japan as noted on the product page. The data is routed through another country, so unfortunately there is no local IP address.

      • is it written on the product page?
I've scanned it multiple times but it doesn't seem clear with these things

        • sorry I might have worded it poorly. When I said "noted on the product page" I was referring to the local networks that the eSIM can connect to.

        • I agree. No where on that page does it say anything about routing through another country and why that would be the case. It screams dodgy.

  • Does the Asia eSim have inbuilt VPN for usage of usual social media apps in China? Also are there any restrictions on Tiktok/Chat GPT etc on this esim?

    • Hi. Yes the Asia eSIM has an inbuilt VPN for usage of social media apps in China. There are no restrictions on TikTok or ChatGPT on this eSIM.

  • Perfect timing

  • Hello! it would be nice to specify who the provider of your sim card is wether its local or another provider
What's the provider for NZ sim?

    • Hi twang. The provider of the sim card / esim ( https://simcorner.com/products/new-zealand-travel-esim ) that comes with data, calls and text is OneNZ. (OneNZ is the largest carrier in NZ). This is a local NZ eSIM / Simcard which will come with a local NZ phone number.
The flexi Data Only SIM / eSIM option - is a roaming sim and will connect to either OneNZ or Spark networks in NZ but is not a local sim.

  • Love the true unlimited Japan Sim cards. Works great everytime and none of this daily cap throttle crap. Got one for my Oct trip, what a bargain!

    • Hi circusmonkii, great to hear you had a positive experience with our Unlimited Japan SIM Card. Thanks for confirming the truly unlimited nature of the plan - no daily cap or throttling surprises. Hope it serves you well again on your October trip!

  • Hi SimCorner!

I'm hoping to buy the 30 day 10gb physical SIM for Japan (https://simcorner.com/products/japan-data-sim-card?variant=4…).

However, I'm unable to input the activation date either on mobile or PC. So therefore, I can't purchase.

Do you know what the issue is and whether it can be resolved?

    Thanks!

    • I’m having the same problem, trying to get an Asia eSIM but not letting me choose the date

So is this routing through another country or not? I don't see it on the page at all
