  • If you don't need a transaction account or Osko then Judo Bank offers the same 5.35% rate up to 250k with a lower $300 monthly deposit requirement.

      • Apples vs. Oranges…

It seems people don't know how to compare welcome/introductory rates vs. on-going rate.

    • No osko on judo. That $300 will be in their coffers for longer. With me can just transfer $2k in and out instantly to meet the minimum.

      • I transferred $200k from Judo to Credit Union SA and it was all done the same day.

        Much easier than BankWest/CBA trash.

        • How did you manage to do this - is some call/manual form filling required?

          • @AlphaC: A phone call but they answered very quickly and processed it fast (the guy sounded local too).

I had to wait months and get AFCA involved to get my money out of BankWest/CBA but Judo were extremely easy to deal with.

            • @arcticmonkey: Thanks for sharing! Was hoping no manual intervention required (eg call/branch/forms) but looks like that's unavoidable. Good to hear it was painless tho.

Yes, I have issues with the majors hanging making withdrawals difficult.
On the same note - I also detest the fact that they dont credit your funds on the same day you sent it even if you sent it at 6am in morning.
Feels like they deliberately hold the credit for 1 day to avoid having to pay out interest on that 1 day.

      • I have to agree with your assessment. Strictly speaking the 2k and 300 are similar but you can instantly transfer the 2k out where the 300 take a couples of hour either way.

Will be interesting if Judo increases the rate or not.

    • Welcome Bonus Rate for up to 4 months then 5.10%

    • 4 month intro rate only before it drops to 5.10%.

If we are comparing welcome rates then Rabo Bank at 5.90% is the best.

    • That's only a Honeymoon, four months bonus, then reverts back to 5.10%. Ubank has that stupid have to increase balance requirement, which I hate as you will have a month were say you have more bills, so will be net negative. Probably wise to have multiple accounts with different banks.

    • Yes, couple small hurdles as others have mentioned.. still 0.50% is no small sum on certain balances.. ozbargainers have gone to greater lengths for credit card offers yielding a few hundred dollars worth of points

  • I'll always repeat how ME Bank and their customer service/managers insisted that Tiimley (formally tic:toc) aren't a real company and couldn't possibly have a lower rate than them when I refinanced. Never again.

Though I do believe for new loans, ME Bank will be lower. Thankfully my current rate is lower :)

  • AMP Go has no requirements / hoops. And 5.10% rate constantly for up to $500k

  • Wish I had 1 mil. even in Zimbabwian dollars :(

  • Be good if ME could just match Credit Union SA at 5.5%

  • BOQ also increasing in 2 days to 5.40%. - $1k deposit + 5 transactions, up to $250k.

  • I just moved money out from Me to Up bank. Gonna move it back since there’s no growing requirement on Me
