First time poster, long time Apple sucker.
I've been keeping an eye out for EOFY deals on the iPad 13 inch range (either current or previous models) and came across this.
Not sure why it's only for the blue colour, but looks like JB HI-FI is clearing out the M3 stock of iPad Airs and have made the blue 256GB version $201 cheaper than the rest. They may say this is a pricing error and fix soon, but for now this is what is advertised.
The equivalent of the M4 version on Apple EDU store is A$1,459.00, which is about $260 more.
There may be further clearance coming up.
Not a great deal. The equivalent M4 iPad Air 13 inch, in any colour, albeit with 128GB, can be had at JB Hi-Fi for $1259, matching Apple Education pricing. This is an older chip, with better storage, for an otherwise fairly unremarkable price.

Apple' biggest cardinal sin: stuffing powerful chip into an iPad and forcing it to run iPadOS. Really handicap the chipset capacity.
