    Check out the full weight of the Dell XPS 1730 M I think it was.

    Carry it anywhere routinely or for a significant time period like walking to work, even with lighter models, you might change your mind.

    I didn't, the issue was the dodgy graphics cards that could not be swapped out due to proprietary connections and shitty Dell support.

    From someoone who has one, trust me you don't !!! What I wouldn't give for a 12" rig, something that was easy to handle, that I could just throw around.

  I've seen this around. Can definitely say that this is the ozbargainers choice of backpack because no one else would freely choose this if we're being honest.

  I've stopped using this bag as a daily due to the top flap's zipper design. You can't zip it closed or open without using 2 hands. Then when you open the flap, the centre of gravity shifts and the bag just tips over. It is quite spacious otherwise.

  I've gone with a Dell Ecoloop 15 Pro backpack. It can just squeeze in my Dell G7 17 gaming laptop. Not ideal but at a pinch, it's ok. However, as my daily it fits a Dell 16" Precision.

    You can't zip it closed or open without using 2 hands. Then when you open the flap, the centre of gravity shifts and the bag just tips over.

  Nice bag when it went on sale for $27, but I wouldn't recommend it for $50.

  • Padding on the back is really comfy and feels snug
  • Sternum straps are detachable
  • nice moulded slim profile that won't bump into everyone on public transport
  • Centre of gravity is out of whack and unable to stand upright by itself
  • adequately padded laptop compartment, including the floor thanks to the rain cover being placed in the bottom pocket
  • not actually waterproof unless you use the rain cover
  • giant dell branding + rainbow reflective panel is obnoxious
  • It's a bit heavy, biggest downside personally. It's already a kilo when empty.

  After 2 years of ownership the inner lining started ripping open with the stitching coming apart. However warranty process was pretty straightforward once you finally get connected to a real person. Apart from the invoice you also need to find the service tag, which is a tiny tiny stitched label hiding on the top left of the main compartment.
