Can anyone chime in if this device would be a good fit to install Linux Mint on? Looking to get a second hand cheap laptop to use as a hobby project.
Just wondering what performance would be like with an i5 but running Linux.
Mint will run on anything with x86 processor. So yes, it'll run on this.
@Wonderstache this is way higher spec laptop than what Mint needs so you will find it will be very responsive and fast. If Mint will find all the required drivers on first go is a pot luck but you should be able to install those missing drivers once you are in Mint.
A nurse dropped my dynabook a few weeks ago and now the back light on the screen is dead.
So… Excuse to buy this thing? Idk. I don't see an easy way to fix the thing given there's no spare screen assembly without chancing it from AliExpress.
