Spotted what seems like a solid price on a phone with some pretty strong specs:
144Hz AMOLED display
7000mAh battery
80W SuperVOOC charging
50MP + 200MP cameras
Snapdragon 7 Gen 4
LPDDR5X RAM
IP69 rating

Price looks lower (or at least on par) with current AliExpress listings, which caught my attention.
I’ve been holding out for a price drop on the OnePlus 15R, but that hasn’t happened yet — this might be a decent alternative at this price point.

A few concerns / questions:

Seller is listed as “realme Global Direct” but only has ~3 ratings — not much history there.
No clear info on supported bands, ROM, or specific variant — I’d want it to work across US / EU / AU, so coverage matters.
Listing mentions 30‑day change-of-mind returns, so I’m tempted to take a chance.

What do you guys reckon? Worth the punt or too risky?

  • OP, Gray is also available for the same price and delivered locally by Amazon AU. Showing free delivery today on my Prime membership.

    • Both colours are Sold by Realme Global and Fulfilled by Amazon AU.

    • You're saying it's not a good deal because you spent 2.5x the asking price 2 years ago?

  • Any chance of OnePlus 15R getting a price drop in the next 3 weeks :( ??

    • Now tells us your rant about the grey one in the deal

      • It’s grey and just as uninspiring.

    • agree, same with almost any chinese product, great specs sheet, but usability, support and overall experience is lacking, I had few ,but now I stick with Pixels, Samsungs and Motorolas…

  • Esim capable?

    • Yes

      • Did U buy one to confirm so?

        • See my feedback below and waiting for Amazon review to be published. Let me know if any questions. Awesome phone.

  • Gsmarena spec sheet and there is also a review there https://www.gsmarena.com/realme_16_pro+_5g-14363.php

Had a Realme X3 superzoom, bought it in JB, was decent phone for the money and would probably have bought
another Realme phone to replace it except they stopped being sold locally.

  • No clear info on supported bands, ROM, or specific variant — I’d want it to work across US / EU / AU, so coverage matters.

Supports all the traditional bands; U2, AC/DC, Nirvana, the Beatles, etc.

4G + 5G fully supported in Australia, not blocked by Optus or Telstra. EU uses Australian bands plus some, which are also covered. US would be more mixed.

As you said, 30 day returns.

  • Go buy one OP and report here for us =)

  • ticks all of the boxes except wireless charging

    • oh and no custom roms by the looks of it :(

      • Thank god, I've had fun with customs for the past 15 years and mostly with Xiaomi, but the constant chase to stay in front recently to keep google wallet working, I didn't consider customs.

Realme UI comes with 5 major updates and with Google locking down this year, the 16 Pro+ hit the spot.

    • it seems like a good phone, i am still a bit hesitant due to
      - unclear how long OS support is GSMArena says up to 5 (EU) / 3 (IN) major Android upgrades. Don't know about AUS
      - unclear on eSIM (market-dependent)

There's also support for eSIM, but it depends on the market. For instance, the Indian variant misses out on the eSIM support

      Also
      - this looks like grey import. not sold anywhere else in AUS
      - realme could not be bothered updating their website, currently showing realme 7 pro and UI 6.0 (!!!). not expecting them to look after our phone updates
      - no user review on Amazon, sellers has 3 lifetime feedback!
      - great first post by OP, but only joined 02/06/2026

      • Just don't move the Sim/eSIM to Vodafone and you'll be ok.

        Works perfect with Telstra eSIM

    • That was one thing I didn't need.
Supervooc 80w charging is a beast on this.

  • DON'T FORGET LATITUDE $50 DISCOUNT.

It has 3 positive and 2 negative reviews. Somehow those 2 negative reviews croosed.
In WA it's showing me 18 june delivery. I m not sure it's coming from overseas or from Eastern States.
Also no info about ROM. Something doesn't look right. But u can take risk as it is 30 days COM..

Please let us know if you buy it.

  • Looks like the "Trump" phone…

    • You're right 🤑

  • Is this real?

  • I grabbed one.. zero regrets.. as per my Amazon review (pending approval), for the performance, AMOLED display size & quality, battery, camera quality, handset size and weight with the realme UI (not quite as good as Color/OxygenOS), nothing else comes close at this discounted price point.

I put a number of models on the table, lots of comparisons and reviews versus the OnePlus 15/15R, realme GT 8 Pro, Honour Magic 8 Pro, Redmagic 11 Pro/Air and OnePlus Nord 6…

No Xiaomi models compared, I wouldn't live with HyperOS - ever, from a former Xiaomi fan, those days are gone. For a 12 or 16gb and 512gb phone, the 16 Pro+ came out on top at $620, crazy.

If you're after all out processor performance and CPU numbers, you'll miss this phone and won't consider.. but this thing is a beast, perfect slim size, the camera images and optical zoom superb, sound quality not one of its highlighted points is very good, monster battery life, this thing is fast and stays cool. Confirmed it has eSIM and NFC.

    Absolute bargain.

    • Ah…feeling sore after my Honor Magic 8 Pro, 1tb got cancelled due to seller realising it's too cheap. $789! Bollocks.. :(

      • Yeah that would have been a steal but I'll help you get over it.. last Xmas, I dropped $900 on the newly released OnePlus Ace6T 1TB, amazing phone, ColorOS as good as the current best customs I had been using. Everything worked and I was happy with the CN ROM, Android auto and NFC no probs, lining up to be unbeatable.

Only problem, just couldn't get 5G on Optus or Telstra at all, didn't matter what I did or where I went, moved to Vodafone, perfect 5G and fast, perfect until I got the dreaded blocked Sim message.

Sold on eBay and a lesson learnt.

The realme has helped me move on with everything working well and realme UI is impressive.

    • Btw, do U get a gst-included invoice ? Thanks.

      • Just tried to download the invoice but got the message to contact the seller. I'll request and let you know how I go.

  • this has reduced to $519 it seems

    • No they've run out of 12/512 models.. the $519 is for an 8/256 which is borderline average IMO
