Just an fyi for anyone struggling to set it up. It keeps looping in a cycle to log into Samsung account on your watch and then your phone, repeat cycle. This is due to the Samsung Account app being out of date.
To bypass this loop, you'll need to start the software upgrade to One UI6 in the settings on the watch, followed by a minor update. Takes a while but that'll get you past that loop. I recommend continue updating to oneui 8 and then personalise.
And again, the gold is in the comments. I was stuck in this loop earlier and gave up.
That's the one issue I haven't had with seeing up a GW7.
Got it for a tween instead of a phone. Had to buy a new band because this comes with a Large, but even the Small band is big for a kid's wrist.
Then getting it to work with its own esim is a PIA. I haven't actually managed to do it yet.
Set it up with an old phone (no Sim). But despite turning on the secret menu / esim test setting the watch app (on the paired phone) would not allow me to add a network until I put Sim in the phone.
Activated esim on the watch seemingly successfully, removed the Sim and put it back in my phone, and the watch decided to reject the esim because the paired phone didn't have a sim.
Putting my Sim back in the spare phone didn't help as it just kept turning me it needs to be the original Sim (it is!).
Months later I haven't got it working yet.
I wanted to pair it with a phone so that child could get push notifications for Gmail and google classroom etc when the phone is on wifi and for the friendlier interface for setting up calendar and timetable stuff.
I don't want to put that on my own phone.
I'm not sure where to go from here.
Yeah gemini was completely unable to help with this last night. I did exactly what you suggested out of habit (update everything everywhere all the time!) and it came good. Now up to UI8 and no more dramas. The next prompt to "Sign in to your Samsung account on your phone." just worked properly instead of looping.
