  • Awful reviews in the previous deal.

    • I noticed those comments as well and I did a bit more research before I bit the bullet myself. It seems to me that overall it gets pretty good reviews but I also noticed some negative ones, but then I read that Anker is pretty good on warranty and Amazon provides easy refund/replacements so.. ask me again in a couple of years!

      • Fair. But Amazon have really good refunds/replacements for anything, so you can just get something better to begin with!

      • Problem I found with Ankler was that they seem to not sell the best versions of their products into Australia?

    • I have one of these. Only downside is that it’s heavy

      • Heavy by design - so it doesn't slide off your desk when you're plugging/unplugging.

    • I have one of these and it works perfectly - no issues over the year I've had it, so YMMV.

    • I have one at our household "charging stations" - 4x USB-C and 2xUSB-A to lightning; to charge powerbanks, phones and iPads. No issues so far.

    • Keep negativity bias in mind

I have this and think it's great, got it previously for $89, pros for it

      More USB-C ports than USB-A
Meets my needs of more distributed high load rather than high power for a single device
IEC C7 removable cord - useful for packing and changing cord length. Personally wouldn't take it OS but would be useful to match with OS cables

It's also worth making sure that quality USB-C cables are used, the more resistance the worse charging speed on the device - and a charger won't fix that

I personally have had more reliability issues from Ugreen chargers, however it's all been purchased through Amazon so the returns have been flawless

  • 100W max per port, so it won't fast charge a Mac over MagSafe which needs 140W.

    • Unless you're maxing out your CPU power draw 24/7, or frequently need to charge fast, 100w is fine. I run mine off my monitor which only supplies 90w and it's always charged.

      • That's a different use case than fast charge requirements

      • Running something stationary is not the same as forgetting to charge your laptop, it's dead and needing as much charge as fast as possible before heading off in 20 mins.

  • Looks like a good deal

    • 250W? Did you mean 200W?

    • I came across that one too actually, the specs are over my head but it looked like it may be a good option too (you're talking about the 200w?). For me it simply has more ports than I was after though and it looks like it takes up more space, and I don't have many high power drawing devices.

A plus I noticed as well I think it has a ground pin in the powercord which the Anker doesn't, but again the exact importance of that I'm not sure on. I believe the Anker has the 2-pin setup which may be better for international travel when you want to plug in a different plug? Details..

    • Link to ugreen one you're talking about please.

      • Guessing it's the 300W one: https://www.amazon.com.au/UGREEN-Charger-Charging-Station-Ma…

Cheaper and more power than the Anker ;)

        • $169’for ugreen vs $94 for anker at present?

          • @LoftyAu: Given he said more ports it is likely he was referring to this one

            https://amzn.asia/d/00gXVfsQ

Which is current similar price to the Anker but with more ports.

            • @joshk: Thank you. Just wanted to see options of what people recommend. I've got a couple of 3 port plugs, but would like a larger one for a specific area of the house. This one may be good for my needs.

    • Thanks so much for the effort you put into making that video! I just bought myself the Aohi desk charger because of your recommendation. I found them discounted on AliExpress with the EOFY sales! :)

      • Time for bed now

      • Thanks man :) I have the AOHI right next to me now on my desk, it's an awesome unit!

      • How's the desk charger going?

        • I looooove it! It doubles as a permanent clock on my desk. :)

          • @vengefulkoala: Do the lights power down? I sleep near my desk and don't want the light in my room…

            • @ifreddo: You can just turn it off by long-pressing the button on the side. Turning it back on is a simple press of the same button. :)

    • Helpful video mate. Thanks.

  • Gift your uncle an anker

    • Ahhhh anker anker anker

    • Anker Roger

      • Sorry children

  • I bought this many moons ago and use it daily, no issues and love it

    • Sames, love it because it has enough headroom between laptop, phone, radios and tablet

  • Anker are alot better than ugreen and these in particular are great. The power cable is called a c7 fig 7 plug, and i have a euro, US and UK version which i take abroad with me with this charger

  • What’s the OzBargain multiple port GaN charger for travel?

    • Whatever hand me down you get from friends and family

  • I've also had one for over a year, and it's great! That's an excellent price btw

  • Does the port cut off power as part of the power negotiation process when a new device is plugged in?

    • not normally but i think if you’re sucking over 150ish watts it will sometimes

      • The ugreen one does. So when you are running something like a travel router, it disconnects when a new USB device is plugged in.

  • $93.19 Delivered via AliExpress

    • Only one dollar difference, I would buy from Amazon delivered and get the warranty.

  • err this is 3x the price of this:

am I missing something? how is this a deal?

    • Nothing much … Anker vs Xyz to trust your devices

    • You're comparing a non-name brand product to a brand name product.

    • pretty insane - k sure brand name.. but anker.. meh probably just as inefficient and likely to burn down ur house.
      30 to 50% more, maybe.
      300% more - no chance

    • Sure. Comparing Lada Niva with Toyota Rav4. Both has 4-wheels and A/C. Lada Niva is much cheaper, surely that's the logical choice amirite? :)
