  • The billionaires at CCA and Amazon don't need that much. I think everyone should start nicking slabs of Coke until they drop back to a reasonable price. A dollar a can should be the full price when buying in bulk. Of all the price rises in the last few years, I think soda may actually be the most egregious.

    • Some stores have a problem with people breaking bulk packs open to steal individual items like soft drink cans. (Underwear appears to be another favourite …)

If you're lucky you can buy box damaged packs at a steep discount, although you always have to check how many individual units are missing.

Agree full prices are ridiculous for what the product is but I feel many groceries have inflated by similar margins.

    • Yep that's my observation too - soda prices, particularly coke brands, have gone through the roof more than anything else in the supermarket other than certain items based on higher commodity prices (like chocolate).

  • Get more than one! Your amazon driver will love getting paid for working out!

    • Always fun watching them come to my front door with the boxes of 12x1.5L bottles, which are already crumbling apart before they start..

  • Don’t forget $3.60 off with can recycling too (SA/NT)

    • Victoria too mate

    • $3.60 off - sure! You've been drinking the koolaid.

You do know they're charging at least $5 more upfront to fund that $3.60 "off".

      Biggest scam ever.

      • Well that’s sort of the idea. They add $4 as collateral so ppl return the aluminum to recycle and refund it. It’s like a shopping trolley scheme

        • Unlike a shopping trolley scheme - with cans they charge you more than you get back.

IMO it's actually worse for the environment.

Previously most cans would've been recycled via council recycle bin collection - one truck per area. Now we have to collect them and return them ourselves - with hundreds of car trips per area using fuel and creating pollution.

          • @AdrianW: It's a tax on people who did the responsible thing, as usual.

    • We pay $3.60 extra in tax (10c per can) . The businesses also get taxed $7.20 per slab (20c per can).

It's 30c tax per container, which means the cans are only 61c each before tax.

It's actually an outrageous amount of tax percentage

  • FML they didn’t make a zero sugar caffeine free version in this size……

    • If u that cautious just drink water 😊

      • Lol… You'll just end up paying for bottled water which costs 100x the cost of tap water. Not to mention more plastic pollution because people don't recycle 🤔

        • I didn’t say buy bottled water. Tap water exists.

  • sports collabing with unhealthy diet choices to keep you sitting on the couch and watch their game

  • Why is Coca-Cola so much more expensive than Pepsi?

    • Because people keep paying more for it.

    • Why is Pepsi more expensive than the super duper generic brand of cola? Why would you choose Pepsi over that?

    • It’s better product (arguably) and better brand. Like why is Apple more expensive than Samsung. Pepsi wants to position itself as being cheaper alternative but just as good if not “better”. Coke happy to be considered the superior option and offer heftier price tag. End of the day it’s all Marketing 101. If Coke is more expensive it’s then perceived (if not all together true) as being superior product. Same like Apple. But then pepsi and Samsung can still claim decent market share to those that think they are smarter than the rest and getting a better deal for same or maybe a better product to them. And still we still ask.. what’s better. Coke or Pepsi. Apple or Samsung. The answer itself is not important if not irrelevant in the scheme of it all. What is importance is the fact people keep asking it.. that’s wot keep sales up for everyone.

    • Coca-Cola is usually more expensive than Pepsi because Coke commands stronger brand loyalty and holds a larger global market share. Because consumers are willing to pay a premium for the Coke name, Coca-Cola acts as an "industry price setter," while Pepsi prices its products lower to actively compete for market share.

Plus I prefer Coke more than Pepsi, hence I'm willing to pay extra. Or I been brain wash.

      • Thanks. Pretty much what I said but made it sounding like GPT bot

        • Ozb dont like GPT 😂😂😂

  • Pepsi Max >> Coca Cola

I used to drink drink Coke for breakfest.
Then i developed massive stomach cramps.
Since then i have taken it ezy, but very little issues with pepsi max.

    • I used to drink drink Coke for breakfest.
Then i developed massive stomach cramps.

So you reduce your cola intake now you feel better?

    • if you're drinking Coke and Pepsi for breakfast, the Coke would be the least of your worries.
