Looks to be the cheapest I've seen so far. Comes in black or white. I've heard battery life is pretty average but should be good enough for most. I'm thinking about picking one up for flight simulator so I can use the back paddles for extra functions.

Yes and price beat gets it to $79 at TGG & possibly at OW as well. Now need to figure out any gift cards that could sweeten it further
I’ve got some that I’ve barely used if you wanted a second hand one - I have one that I put the paddle kits on too (just the plug and play kit so can’t bind L3/R3).
Not the cheapest so far, I picked it up for $229.00 at JB a few months back, but still pretty close!

Be aware that the rubber grips on the edge controller will bubble up and peel, happened to me after 3 months of use and returned it for a refund
That's insane, between sony and xbox you'd think they could make a high quality pro controller. Went through 6 I believe xbox elite s2 controller due to a myriad of issues. Ended up buying a vader 4 pro for less than $100 almost 2 years ago no issues at all. If only it worked on the ps5
I’ve had this issue on mine and I’ve been trawling Ali Express trying to find a 30th Anniversary set of shells and buttons to rectify it. Also had one of the paddles being very loose but still works fine.
1 year for me. No peeling.
Replaced a stick module though.

Well…yeah.
Though at least you can easily change Sony's rather weak stick modules on this one when they die. The paddles are good though…I get a bit of pain in the hand using the regular DualSense and this largely eliminates that.
This is a "pro" controller. Your comment is like looking at the price of a Ferrari and saying "wow, I can't believe cars cost so much now!"
Steam controller is better and cheaper.
Hell, even the $60 8bitdo controllers come with TMR sticks and back paddles.
This is just sony gouging you and I'm not sure why you're ok with it.

Was wondering the same thing, I've never once thought to myself that the controller should be better and more expensive, its perfectly fine but I suppose this is targeted at hardcore enthusiast gamers and not filthy casuals.

This has a tiny battery. A much smaller battery than the standard controller.
This Edge controller is worth $120-130 max — it's frankly unnecessary and 'bloated' for what it is.
The DualSense at $80 max is acceptable.

Yep. Took me under a year to kill the left stick module on my DualSense.
I replaced it of course, and I'm glad it's an option to do so on the Edge. Disgusted that Sony didn't at least offer hall effect or something better in stick modules though. You can do third party mods of course, but that involves calibration and stuffing about…meh.
Lmk when I can get a new Edge for $120-130
Get a steam controller or if you need ps5 compat, get an 8bitdo controller with TMR sticks and back paddles for $60.
Provided the analogue sticks are lined up PlayStation style.. I hate the Xbox layout
Bought one thinking I will use the back buttons for combos but I should have done the research earlier. The back buttons basically can only be mapped to one of the regular buttons and nothing else. There’s no customisation.
On top of that the battery won’t last more than 2-3 hours if you have vibration on.
I think it’s way overpriced for what you get.
Better off getting an eXtremeRate back paddle kit for your regular Dualsense, they are cheap and you don't get stuck with 3 hour battery life.
Yeah…not so good for that. Nothing particularly special about this controller other than it's the best Sony original controller available for PS5.
It works better for games where you'll be hitting multiple buttons simultaneously…or even just to take away some of the stress on your thumbs with all the constant stick-to-button movements.
Sounds like you want something a bit more programmable.

from memory they were $380-400 and you needed to win a ballot to have an opportunity to purchase one.
to get one you may get lucky on something a bit more but generally they're extortionate e.g. ebay $600-1000
Ended up picking this up and got a Big W gift card at 4% off with my NIB insurance.
Sold my Xbox Elite Series 2 controller as I had a lot of issues with that. Hoping the Dualsense Edge is half decent for my PS5 and PC. Way too expensive at MSRP.
this controller is a ripoff p.o.s. that should never have been priced at more than ~$150 and the battery life is a joke.
worst of all the sticks will go just like the regular dual senses. had both go within a relatively short time frame, super pissed. oh at least they're replaceable you say? well at $40-50 or more per replacement stick, where you'll have to keep replacing them, whats the point? i didn't ask for a breakdown subscription service for my console controller….
just buy a regular dualsense and paysomeone $70-80 to replace the default sticks with some Gulikit TMR ones that are drift-proof (or diy for around half that once you buy a few tools) .. and add in any other mods you're keen on, clicky buttons/triggers or extra paddle kits etc. and it'll still be far cheaper in the long run.
