  • Also check out Kogan Mobile Extra Large 4G Prepaid Plan: 365 Days Expiry, 900GB Data - $199 Delivered @ Kogan if you need a plan for 900GB. Otherwise, these offers are suitable and more cheaper if you don't require that much data.

    • You could also say the Extra Large Plan is good for Anyone who wants more than the 250GB plan, up to 900GB lol.

      • Wow that's crazy that plan used to be 500GB. Although even that plan is stuck on 4G. I suppose it's alright if all you've got is a 4G smartphone.

        • And you will also need to be in a good area to receive fast Vodafone 4G speeds to be able

to efficiently use the large amount of data.

          • @ozhunter68: Well that counts out most regional locations then. Some times you get a strong signal in a regional city when closer to the tower but slower download speeds. I think there's a lack of backhaul bandwidth to the tower no matter how strong the signal may be on your smartphone it doesn't make a difference. The mobile tower just doesn't have enough backhaul bandwidth.

            • @hollykryten: Yes, often that is the case, but happens a lot when I travel around with Optus and Telstra too.

  • No 5g..only 4g with these plans

    • Should be in description, thanks!

    • Yes that's right the 365 day plans only has access to 4G. And the 4G is also pretty ordinary in regional areas and probably some metro areas too. I know because up to a few months ago i used to be on the Kogan Mobile 365 days 500GB plan on the 4G here in Rockhampton, QLD. As far as i'm aware only the monthly plans have access to Vodafone 5G.

Since then i switched to amaysim and it's been great because it gets access too Optus 5G (howbeit amaysim is officially speed capped at 200Mbps but some times goes slightly higher). Today i got 213Mbps (in Ookla Speedtest) down at the nearby park on amaysim 5G. Not too bad. I could never get that on Kogan Mobile 4G.

      • Entirely horses for courses, no one mobile provider network is a silver bullet for everyone.

I moved from Boost (Telstra prepaid network) which people generally rave about, because of congestion/slow speeds over to Optus (unrestricted 4g & 5g with Moose), then because I was happier with the Optus network I switched over to Coles (Optus 4g/5g limited to 100Mbps download speed).

I've just spent the last month trialing Lebara in my second sim slot (Vodafone 4g and 5g speed limited to 150Mbps) and for the places I go I'm just as happy with the Vodafone network for an overall much cheaper price.

Instead of just listening to other people's experiences with different telco's they really should be grabbing a cheap sim and checking them out themselves firsthand as they could be missing out on a better experience.

        • Yep,…..so true. I have been banging on about this in comments for many years. Remeber, YMMV.

  • If I am already with Kogan, can I still buy this sim and recharge? How does that work? Or do I need to port out and port back in? Thanks

    • Yes, you can. My plan expires on the day of 31st of July. So I will probably purchase the plan and use the voucher on the 31st.

      • it says "Voucher does not apply to subsequent recharges." Are you sure ?

        • Yes, I am sure. I have been doing it for the past 5 years.

  • I think this will be my 4th year with this plan. I miss the $120 deals, tho. I've used only 67gb from last year's. At least this is quite affordable

    • Yeah, $120 was great for not having to worry about how many calls/texts I have left, and sufficient data. $149 is OK but wish it was the normal price rather than the discounted price.

I've only used 38Gb myself with 2.5 months left.

  • Could anyone share how to apply the ‘APPLOVE’ code in the app for the discount?

Installed the app to purchase a new sim and throughout the checkout process can’t see a field for a promo or discount code. Thank

    • The discount code box should be on the payment screen. The final checkout screen.

This is what the Google AI just spat this info out for me:

"The Kogan.com discount code box on the Kogan App appears during the final checkout stage on your smartphone. It is hidden if your cart contains no eligible items, or if your cart value doesn't meet the minimum requirement.

How to Find and Redeem Your Code in the App

Download: Get the Kogan iOS App or Kogan Android App from your respective store.

Shop: Add eligible products to your cart and tap Checkout.

Locate the Box: Look for the Discount Code or Promo Code field on the payment screen.

Enter the Code: Paste the exact promo code without trailing spaces and tap Add Discount or Apply.

Verify: Confirm that your total updates before completing the order."

      • Thank you for the response. Have tried a few options of the above plans all the way up to the point of submitting credit card payment and no discount field unfortunately.

Also, the app is so horrible that I’ve decided to go with another provider. It’s slow, error prone and freezes in what looks like a simple portal to a mobile website. Doesn’t inspire confidence in any tech setup or support. Even though I’ve used Kogan mobile in the past, will give this a miss.

Thank you again @hollykryten for the time and effort or the reply

        • Try ordering through a web browser through the web site. That's my only other alternative suggestion.

          • @hollykryten: discount code is for app only. there is no discount code option I tried to check it too.

      • Hi @hollykryten, sorry for the late response. I always sign up Kogan using a new email when using the $5 off code.

You may need to uninstall and reinstall the app, sign up through the app, and then add the eligible product (over $100), in this case - meets requirements, and the code discount section should show up prior to payment checkout. You should be able to apply the code at the cart summary section to score the $5 off promotion.

  • Hmmm, my current plan expires 31/08. According to the T&Cs for the current deal, we need to activate by 31/07/2026:

The unique Kogan Mobile voucher included as part of this product cannot be redeemed for cash. Voucher must be purchased by 11:59PM AEST on 28/06/2026. Voucher expires at 11:59PM AEST on 31/07/2026. Activation must be made before the voucher expiry date. Voucher does not apply to subsequent recharges. Voucher cannot be used in conjunction with any other vouchers or promotional offers.

Now I wonder if I should chance waiting till July/August to see if the deal is repeated?

Last year I managed to get the small plan at $150 towards the end of August.

    • Hmmm, my Amex card has a spend $50 at Kogan, get $10 back offer… that extra month is worth $12.50 so I'm effectively forgoing $2.50 to get this current deal. Small price to pay to ensure I get the small recharge at a decent price… plus shift my recharge closer to the EOFY sweet spot when deals are guaranteed.

    • Hey @Mugsy, as a person who posts these Kogan deals regularly, I don't think there will be a similar offer during July/August - tends to be the case most of the time. However, if there is an offer it won't be as low priced as the current deal.

      • Yeah, I won't be chancing it especially since my Amex card will give me a $10 cashback from Kogan purchases before end of the month.
