  • Just be aware the g410 includes a zigbee hub in the chime, whereas these don’t.

  • Not sure about the doorbell, however other Aqara kit plays nicely with Home Assistant (via Zigbee2MQTT).

  • Good price, I found it easier to pair this directly with homekit bypassing home assistant, note there is no notification of a flat/low battery and it's thirsty. I have a calendar set for 60 days to check the batteries and sure enough it's often dead by 60 days on eneloops. I've had mine installed for around 2 years now and it's showing the effects of direct sunlight with the top of the casing getting ashy. Also annoying that the doorbell notificaiton on iOS can't get set as high priority to bypass silent/dnd modes. I've seen other door bells that emulate a phone call which would be much nicer.

  • Can these be hardwired?

  • Although its vision aspect is not the best but the functionality is truly the best and very reliable. I used it with batteries but got sick of replacing them often and since hard wiring it, haven’t looked back. Solid bell for this price but consider hardwiring it so would need purchase the adapter separately.

    • This doorbell is really senstive to batteries.

I switched to some special lithium rechargeable batteries from good AA brands and battery life went from weeks to six months+. I can't remember the last time I charged it and its still going strong.

      • What brand are you using?

        • XTAR 1.5V 4150mWh Rechargable Li-ion batteries.

  • Does this have much of a marked advantage over a dedicated wired HomeKit camera around your door entrance paired with an analogue kinetic door bell?

  • is this the model with the nerfed aspect ratio so you can't see faces?

  • Been running mine for ~6 months (bought on OW deal) - no major complaints from my end. Have it connected via HomeKit and has always been reliable. On track to get maybe 4 months from a set of Ikea "eneloop pro's".

Did get one overheating warning in the middle of summer (WA) though.

  • Managed to pair mine in Home Assistant using the HomeKit Device integration.

  • Decent doorbell. I considered buying this but went for the G410 instead, as the camera on the G410 has a better field of vision (G4 orientation is 16 x 9, and the G410 is 4 x 3). G410 currently $189.

  • Had one of these but replaced with Reolink wifi hard wired one pretty quick. There was too long a delay in notifications with the Aqara. Would be alright if people walk to your door from front on so it has time to register them; but I have a small landing in front of the door, with stairs running out of sight of the door. A postie could walk up the stairs, stand there and do what was needed on their computers, leave the package and be back down stairs and driving away before I got any hint that someone was at the door.

  • Does this actually stream to google nest device

  • This vs Reolink?
