        No, it's hardwired for power, but it can not control external lights.. In fact I don't want their leds, I want my build in lights be smarter…

          Ah … you just want to replace a motion sensor … got it. Just get a camera with good detection and then get smarts on the lights (example: Shelly). (Depending on your lights: I put Hue GU10 in my outdoorlights and just trigger them with the wireless sensors - I can have the sensors in very different spots and all lights turn on when triggered))

      I use one of their camera to detect, then trigger the light controlled by Shelly via Home Assistant.

          Not gonna lie, it can be, depends if you want to save time or money.
          I think you can shortcut the home assistant built by buying one of those HA green, then next is to add reolink to HA and your light, then build the automation.
          There are plenty of Youtube guide for this

      I use frigate with the open model called ONVIF where any camera with those standards can be setup. its rather complex but can do some pretty cool self management stuff

      The Reolink cameras handle a lot of their detection classification internally. This camera only does basic categorisation though (car/person/pet/non-event).

      The newest ones have a whole LLM on board & will do things like write text descriptions of what happened & let you scrub footage via a text search. Not sure if those newest features work when entirely off-line though, I have only seen the promos for them.

    Aside from brightness, my biggest complaint about Reolink cameras / floodlights is that the light does not stay on for long. There are no settings to set the duration. Secondly the re-activation, re-triggering the lights back on, can sometimes take 10-30 seconds. I found this to be true for 810/820, and duo cameras.

        Yep, they're the limits for the solr battery cams, but via Timer or other settings, I can set lights on all my other cams to run 24/7, if required….

      Are you sure you're talking about the 810 and 820?

      The 810A and 820A don't have LED lights - only IR.

      If you're talking the CX810 or the CX820, they have a range of configurable options using the NVR interface, namely via Timer, Auto (comes on when ambient light drops below a threshold) and Smart (triggers additional lighting via sportlight to supplement ambient light whenever event detected).

      Of the 20 different Reolink models I've got, the only ones which suffer from the light and recording limitations are the solar battery cams, which frustratingly are capped at 30 seconds, albeit for understanable reasons to preserve battery life. Battery cams by design are compromise persofied. I don't have the iussue with Duo 2, 2V or 3 but then I also don't have any Duos with the seperate floodlights, so could it be a "feature" unique to the floodlight cams, rather than those with standard LED's?

    Anyone have this in home assistant? Want to see what entities are exposed

    My Tapo C410 wouldn't turn on the light during the day so could only run automations at night as there was a entity for light turned on/off

    Hoping there was a detection status (or better yet motion/person/vehicle detected) so could take a snapshot or three and then have AI write what's happening and put it in a notification and then send it to my phone

      Got reolink in HA. Can control floodlights on my 811A. Don't have this model in post.
      In ha can see the 3 (4) entities. Movement, person, animal, vehicle. Can see in logs when detected. Haven't done the ai part and snapshot. Just through the nvr or on camera itself. Cannot see why not just to write automation if sensor activate to do snapshot of that camera….total 51 entities on that model 811a exposed in ha.

          Home hub nvr and individual cameras. Shouldn't need both, but anyways. The nvr in there got 253 entities. I got 4 cameras.

        I've got the Reolink integration but doesnt find the camera?

        The App works fine to add the camera

    Anyone know if the solar panel can be tilted in another direction?
    I want to put this in my front yard but the house is south facing so need to tilt the panel back to the north.

    If not I’ll just have to wait for another model with a solar panel to go on sale.

      Afaik its fixed but it also has a USBC port you can plug in an external accessory panel into. I have seen people say the cheap USBC panels from bunnings work for the reolink cams too.

        I have this camera, solar panel fixed. Even on rainy days, battery always returns to 100%. Rarely dips below 85%. I have floodlight set to operate after motion detection, for 30 seconds. Not sure why that other user had battery issues.

    Any decent versions of these with the solar panel seperate?

    Makes zero sense having the main body and battery in full sun (Short life).

    Bought Kogan solar floodlights in 2019( with the solar panel seperate). Battery capacity is still perfect (they have never ran out yet).

    The floodlight in the sun however, didn't last a year. Trash.

    Ali Express have multi cameras with one solar panel…but I assume the AI detection etc is awful? Got one of those light bulb socket cameras… picks up moving tree shadows…every time.. as humans…
