This deal is a little odd and may be kind of situational, but if you plan on buying anything from Japan ecommerce sites (physical items, ebooks, trading cards, toys etc) or you're planning to book hotels in Japan (not via Booking.com, but from Japanese equivalents like Tripla where Amazon Pay is accepted, you'll be able to net a little bit of cashback into your Amazon Japan account. The maximum cashback you'll get is 2000 JPY.
The cashback will be paid in the form of Amazon Gift Card (AKA. Amazon store credit). This gift card balance can only be spent on Amazon JP products, not external sites (same restriction as Amazon Australia Gift card)
Please note that your Amazon Australia, USA, and Japan accounts all have different account ID's. There is no Single sign-on (SSO) authentication
You need to create an account for Amazon JP specifically if you haven't already.
To use Amazon Pay, you just need to link a payment card to your Amazon JP account, the same way you do it for Amazon Au. That's it — you are ready to use Amazon Pay.
If you just signed up, your account needs to be at least 30 days old to get cashback.

The cashback amount depends on your Amazon Pay history:

Key Conditions & Exclusions

Has anyone actually brought something from amazon japan successfully?
I ordered a newborn rocker over 4 months ago and they just keep pushing the delivery date or cancelling our order then reordering it for us when we ask why.
Contacting amazon japan directly just yields no response.
Anyone had similar issues before or am i just lucky?
At this rate the baby will be 2 years old by the time we get it…
