I'd normally have got one for release, but seeing it more than double what its replacing is wild - happy to pay if I actually understood other than market will bear it.
Because people are still buying things at these prices and there’s demand. I have this and the old 3s. I’m starting to get used to it, find it a little more comfortable. I’m using it for work so will just add it to tax I guess

It's about what the MX Master 3 cost not long after launch. Since then there's been inflation and rising component costs too.
yeah i mean we got use to $100 'premium' mice pre covid so I think $143 is not out of bounds post covid

Hmm, where did you get that price range from? The deals start at $154, are mostly in the $160 range (OW price beat), with only one that's $175, also an OW price beat.

Don't forget that this mouse is relatively new. When the 3S was released, it was in the $160 range. The later deals were in the $125-$135 range. Since then there has been inflation and component shortages so all things considered $143 now is decent IMHO.
Yeh I used to get the older models for around $80 for family that asked for good productivity mice, inflation I guess.

I'd say it's targeted and every business got their individual discount if any. I had "BusinessPromo discount" and that's including "UBANK10" promo.

Had bought so many Logitech mouses and all ended "double click" issues after years…… I will not buy any mouse over $100 any more.
FWIW my two MX Master 3 mice are 7 years old this year and have no double click issue. They're both used every day.
You're lucky. I had MX Anywhere, Anywhere 3, Master, Master 2, LIft, all had such issues except the newer Anywhere 3. Can't understand why they don't just use better microswitch for such expensive mouses.
Simple answer. They don't want it to last 7 years! Logitech would go out of business.
Had an MX Master 3S for 2 years. No "double click" issue but the soft rubbery grip where the thumb goes has worn down. It feels horrible as the material falls off and I can now see the plastic underneath. Hope the Master 4 doesn't use this soft material.
Yeah I have 3 MX 2's, 2 wore out the right-click mech. But it's easy to replace. I ordered 100 on digikey (they were end of line parts), genuine Omron micro switches. I was actually able to order the better ones (they come in 1 or 7 million click ratings) and after swapping to the 7M ones it's been fine since.
I've also worn out the thumb click button on one and it's also easy to replace.

these are great mice but pricey. i have a mx master 3 , 3s, 3s anywhere which all still work fine after ~ 6 years or so. Can't justify getting anymore ha

Not that I've noticed… Simple to swap between business and personal accounts and often handy discounts to be found.

Wanted the Pale Grey for the Master 4 to match with MX Keys S Keyboard, which I read no longer get bad discoloration as Master 3s, 3 and Anywhere 3s.

I had an MX Vertical just die after about 6 years. Would the Master feel similar to me, or not really? I basically can't use anything other than vertical mice now since I'm that used to it.
I am waiting for MX Master 5 for $199 on special.

Still think the 3S deal that was a couple weeks ago for $99 is better (I say this because I bought it and don't want fomo over the newer model)

I have a MX Master 3S and Razer Pro Click V2, 500hz with 2900dpi is nice with Razer but still has mechanical clicky buttons which I dont mind

It's not a gaming mouse so 125Hz really isn't a big deal.
Optical switches would be nice, although if they pick the right mechanical switch it would be fine since it's meant for productivity applications and not gaming with a million clicks a day.

"Best" depends on what the device is meant to be used for. Adding a feature that isn't very useful for its intended application doesn't make it better, it could even make it worse if it drains the battery quicker.
It's like how Eizo's professional series of monitors just run at 60Hz. They're not gaming monitors so high refresh isn't an important feature, but they are considered the best monitors for their application.
Not sure if anyone else has received theirs yet, but I just got mine in a mx master 4 box but it was a repackaged 3s..?

Sounds like someone scammed amazon by buying, swapping with their 3S, and returning? A replacement piece of tape wouldn't be hard to get.
