Got this in July 2024 for $319 (thanks to $30 perks deal with JB HiFi). This has been running beautifully for me ever since and I highly recommend this. I never bothered using the solar panel bit as the USB cable that came with it was long enough to snake into my garage to my old iPhone charger plugged into mains inside.
Just noting that this has been sold for a lot cheaper in the past though. IE. $218@Bunnings
Mine has been running for 547 days with 17.5k detected events and 4.5k recorded events. Currently sitting on 97% battery using the solar. The panel does a great job.
What is the difference between a detected and recorded event and is that all on a memory card or nvr.
I was looking at the altus ultra pt but maybe this is better…
I think detected is where the light comes on but it's not substantial enough to actually record (eg someone walking past in the distance)
Recorded is when it actually saves it. I just the internal 8gb storage, haven't had an issue with that so far

No. It doesn't need a homebase to operate, it works as a standalone.
Apparently it can link to a homebase 3 however I don't have one and haven't researched what the advantages are of linking it. I have a homebase 2 and it doesn't link, although all my Eufy cameras are in the same app regardless of homebase connection.
No need to buy. I just have this and it is great when I am away from home to be able to see alerts that the camera has detected movement in my driveway which (if I can be stuffed), I can quickly click on the iPhone notification to load up a live stream of what the camera sees and can also use the speaker and mic to talk to whoever is there.
