I'm not great with this but it seems that the RRP matches the Sony 65-Inch Bravia 9 Mk II on say JBHifi and the Sony 65" BRAVIA 8 II 4K HDR OLED Google TV 2025 is listed at $3995
So version 8 vs 9… like I said unless I'm missing something
Also OEM stuff isn't relevant yet because I thought that just happened this current stock is still "Sony"

That said i think the models might have got mixed up here (Harvey Norman is by no means a yardstick but that's just my prejudice)….

Sony TV now is owned by TCL.
I mean you're not entirely wrong. Tcl is taking a majority stake, will build the TV's, and only possibly use Sony's image processing (maybe?) and I believe Sony will still handle marketing etc?
Tcl will have better tech. Sony is exiting. Sony is losing its position in the market and falling behind its competitors.
Buy a real TCL.
I did, but the picture on my 2020 Panasonic is better than my TCL.
Excellent TV which arguably still has the best picture quality on the market.
However this is an ok price. I've been tracking as I've been looking to get one. Deal territory would be sub $3500.

I had a 65a8f that couldn't be fixed. Sony offering the m2 in 65" for 3300 as trade in. If you have a dead Sony lying around, maybe approach them and see what they offer?

Got my 65a8h for $1800 through a mate who worked for sony a few years ago. Picture quality is still amazing although starting to get some dead pixels along the edges. The lack of 4 hdmi 2.1 ports on this makes it a tough sell even at this proce. Sony are falling behind their competitors
