  • Lots of T&C that reduces the likelihood to be eligible for cashback, than ensuring you qualify.

    • There's no way this tracks and too bad, can't return it

      • thats not completely correct , you can decline the optus delivery and call on 1300 929 949 and provide your order number , they will refund once the courier has been returned . If it doesn't track in 3 hours then it's unlikely to get tracked . I have literally done this in the previous deal . You just need to have the hustle of calling optus.

        • Not true. It said tracked, monitor for next 30, or 60 days, however, later the status became no purchase found. So there was no opportunity to decline delivery. I also contacted Optus to raise my concern, and they said cashback is not what they could control, so no avenue available.

          • @carimakan: thats sounds really dodgy. But if it tracked and you received an email from shopback with the amount etc , then I don't think they can decline unless you haven't activated it within 28 days time frame. As I said if it doesn't track in few hours , first thing is call Optus on that number and if they attemo delivery then decline and you will get a refund to the same card. I have literally done this last time as I knew Shopback won't honour if it doesn't track and there's no point in claiming a missing cashback.

            • @saminn: Perhaps I used the wrong phrase. Trying explain in plain human language, I’m not expert in the cashback.
I think it was like pending confirm, or something like that, not track. Can’t remember mate. All I’m saying was the info given in Cashback/Optus was there’s a chance for cashback, they are just monitoring, then at the end it’s not eligible. Trying to share my real purchase experience to be more informative. All the best for future buyers to take note. Ta.

        • My order from yesterday did not track and it has been 20 hours now.so I called the above number and spoke to Optus and explained the cashback not tracking situation..she asked me to wait for the delivery..accept it and than call them back with the sim sireal number ..so she would be able to cancel the sim/order and process the full refund of $220 with no deduction
She also said I had the option of declining the delivery..but in that case the sim has to go back to the warehouse which will take extra (5-7) business days….so it is much quicker to accept the delivery and than call them for the refund

Since this deal ends today..wondering I should ask my Mrs to try it on her account

          • @kureshi: Optus won’t be bothered about your cashback or shopback, a simple rule for me is if it doesn’t track in 3 hours then it’s unlikely . Use another account and card to order a new sim to be safe and turn off ad blockers and antivirus . Hopefully if its tracks this time then you can decline the delivery.

            • @saminn: I will order another one now…but you recon it is better to recieve the delivery and than call to cancel the order as the optus customer service suggested to do to save 5-7 days…or decline the delivery and than wait for the sim to go back to the warehouse and than call to refund?
Personally I think be better to recieve it and than call them to cancel the order to save me some time..but I do not have much experience in returning/cancelling orders

              • @kureshi: Sorry didn’t get you what you mean by receiving the delivery as after receiving delivery it’s very hard to get refund. If it hasn’t tracked then note the corresponding order number and tracking number and decline the delivery. Only Accept the delivery which has tracked for you. Hence asked you to use a different email id and card for the new order.

                • @saminn: My Mrs ordered another one using her shopback account , different email, but same card and it tracked within 15 mins this time..
The optus customer service said it is ok to recieve the sim..provide them the sim serial number… and than call them for a refund and they will do it..and it will be quicker that way ..rather than declining the delivery and than waiting extra 5 - 7days for it to go back to the warehouse…I don't know if i should take them on their word..and they screw me over by not refunding

                  • @kureshi: I've refused a delivery from Optus before. Had to write a note and stuck it on my letterbox just in case the deliverer actually delivered it and I wasn't there to refuse it. Ended up getting a refund automatically. Can't remember how long it took.

        • As been warned above, it’s hit and miss for different people. And not everyone have the know how, proper monitor, when to or if to call Optus, or how to check its track or not. Just confusing. That’s why it’s been warned from the beginning.

Thus correct or not correct, we may go through the long winding experiences below.

Cash back is genuine, however it doesn’t simply just work for everyone, especially those who are not familiar. Good luck.

    • How is it different to the previous deal that got +yourback handled very well ddspite a system glitch?

    • Bought 2, both tracked.

  • is this mean $220-$130 cashback = $90 for a 365 day sim plan?

    • Yes.

  • Still waiting for my precious $120 cb to track…

    • Same. Doesn’t inspire confidence unfortunately.

    • Narrator: It won't

    • Mine was rectified. Reach out to the rep.

      • What’s the rep’s @

      • how?

        • Either DM SB Rep @gotyourback or click on Account tab in SB app > Support > View Support Requests.

    • I bought 2x and both tracked instantly

      • Did you order eSIM or a physical one? Thanks.

        • 2 physical sims in 2 different orders. Both tracked within 30min

    • says 25 days to track, 120 days to cashback

    • Same, still waiting for mine to track from Wednesday

    • I bought 2x on the $120 cb. First one tracked at $30 first, and got adjusted + $90 a few days later. The second one tracked at $120.

    • ShopBack has been quite unreliable recently. Yesterday, I purchased this offer with hope it will get track and as expected it’s not yet tracked. Now I have to waste my time chatting to a bot or find a way to contact support and raise an issue 🫠

  • Ffs why they do this. I got the $120 deal just 2 days ago.

There's also a bonus $5 challenge for spending $200 on Optus too that you can opt-in for.

    • Just to pi$$ you off..

      • I'm already pissed off since my pizza hut Westpac bank bonus didn't track even though my bws Westpac bank bonus did and there's no way to submit a missing cashback claim for bank bonuses so I had to do it on the standard cashback of which they took more than a week only to ignore my actual message and Westpac screenshot questioning the bank bonus and replied stating that the standard cashback was correct. I went off at them in my reply to which they then said to wait 14 business days for it to track 🤦🏻‍♂️

  • I would not expect cashback on this deal.

    You won't get Cashback on:
    - Purchases using any type of discount which lowers price advertised on the Merchant site
    - Store promotions, discounts or special deals unless otherwise stated

    • How's this different to the recent $220 deal? So long as you're paying $220 to Optus which is their standard price at the moment without using any codes etc. for further discount, you're fine.
For what its worth, I've had every single SIM cashback approved with Shopback and with the Cashrewards who unfortunately are no longer around.

    • You forgot to copy the next part of the text, which lowers discounts via student discount, employee etc. normal price drop should be elibigle for cashback.

    • Bought 2, both tracked instantly

    • Neither of those things are applicable here

For the first one, there is no discount which lowers the price advertised on the merchant site. The merchant site shows $220, and it stays that way - there isn’t a code that lowers it

For the second one - it says “ unless otherwise stated”. Since this deal is specifically stated within the app, that cancels out that term as being a disqualifier

  • Pair it with joining the $5 bonus cashback for $200 optus spend challenge in the Earn More section

  • If I have an account with Optus, but no active service, am I considered new customer for cashback purpose?

    • New customer.

  • Bad network at very good price.

    • Floptus vs Vodafail vs Helstra
They all suck honestly. Sub par quality networks does Australia have.

      • Just do it like me and have all 3!

    • Not everyone lives in your dumpster.

  • This a scam

  • Wish they support apple watch lte on prepaid

  • Optus & ShopBack are like glass and bubblegum. You can chew if you’d like, but you’re gonna get cut.

See past offers & comments - the bigger the cash back, the bigger the “oopsie daisy, guess we didn’t track you, sowwy.”

If you take this offer, document everything, screenshot and film it and be prepared to go to the T.I.O.

  • Shopback did honour the $120 cash back from the previous deal, it did take about a week for SB to provide the adjustment.

  • Thanks OP I am giving this a go. Fingers crossed.

  • Last November I got it when it was $150 cashback. Money tracked and received no issues! Cracking deal now to, if it tracks you are spending $90 for 1 year. So cheap.

  • Is there a date by which you would need to activate the sim? Asking as my current sim expires only in September.

    • Last few deals were:

Activate within 28 days to qualify for cashback

    • From the t&c

Prepaid cashback is eligible on new activations only. Requires activation within 28 days of purchase. Service must maintain an active recharge state for 90 days post activation.

  • Does anyone know how long this upsized cashback is going to last? Was planning on switching from Vodafone to Optus on Monday but might do it this afternoon instead.
Also has anyone had issues with the $5 global roaming not working properly? Going overseas in a week and don’t want to risk it.

    • Under the tags it says end 19 June (7 days left)

  • Really hit or miss whether these types of cashback transactions end up tracking. Have had a ton of bad experiences recently with utilities cashback offers.

  • I am with Optus, so I need to port out and in for the cashback?

    • I'm in the same situation, and I am going to do this then,
ie. port out and then port back into this deal.

  • Are we still allowed to buy this if we already brought the previous deal for one hundred and twenty dollars cash back?

  • donot buy if you donot have time to contact support team.

Last deal $120 tracked as $24.50 still wait after 5 emails.

And $20 missing from the last 4% super swap deal too. Was told by suppor tto wait for 14 days!

  • Shopback is very unreliable. I wouldn't bank on getting any cashback

  • Its a nightmare to cancel the sim if shopback doesn't track. I am still waiting for my cashback to be confirmed from the previous deal ( cashback did not track)

    • Dd you get it cancelled?

      • yes i did eventually after speaking to 4 teams over 3 days.

        • How did you manage that? With the benefit of hindsight, do you have any tips how to get it done quicker?

          • @tenpercent: most of their support staff are offshore so the time difference makes it extremely difficult to follow up. I had to reject the sim delivery from aus post so that they could return it back and process a refund. in hindsight , there is no quicker way around - I should not have ordered it. The deal is only good if cashback is honoured otherwise you are stuck with one expensive sim.

    • Mine tracked, but I foolishly had my preferred name on the delivery, and Australia Post would not release the package because of the name mismatch (the delivery had my middle and surname, but not my legal first name). Trying to get it cancelled now, but Optus support is not great!

      • You can get a my post card from auspost, and you can have whatever name you want on it. That’s all you need for identity purposes. Also helps if you have a fairly rare last name, I’ve never had any issues at 4 post offices I’d used in the past in different states when the first name mismatched. Might just change my name legally one day, but the downstream manual changes involved everywhere makes it not worthwhile.

    • Not a helpful comment.

  • They are scammers legit so u will need to follow up. I had nbn recently with them and was told I’d keep the modem they sent me if I stayed on for 6 months. Probably stayed on about a year being lazy to swap to a cheaper deal. They honestly sent me a bill to pay for the modem of like $200-300 and told me I had to pay despite what I told them. My instant response was “fix it or I’m off to the ombudsman” they fixed it instantly lol.
Also originally signing up was a huge headache fighting to get the cashback.

End of story - if u have time to contest their bs, go for it!

I’ll definitely be getting 1-2 of these though

  • Amazing deal. If you include the $5 bonus cashback from the Optus challenge then this will work out to $94 for the 1 year mobile service. Pity I bought it yesterday (the $120 tracked without issue).

    • 220-130-5= 85 tho?

      • Yes, $85 after $135 cashback. I edited this to include $5 cashback.

      • Arh yes, you are correct. That's what you get for not thinking correctly. Even better than I thought.

    • Where can I find the link/site for the Optus bonus $5 cashback ?

      • Under More challenges heading on the Earn More tab. About 3 screens down from top of the tab.

        • Thanks, found it.

  • Mine tracked in about 1h, 130+5

    • Mine tracked about same. Ordered with Windows PC in chrome browser.

  • My current pre-paid expires on 16/07

Can I buy this now and activate then?

    • No. You have to port out of Optus first. This sim is for new customers only.

      • Sorry..I should've clarified - my current pre-paid is with a different Telco

    • You must activate sim within 28 days of purchase (play it safe and do it no longer than the 27th day to be safe),

in order to have a chance to get cashback. So on or before the 9th of July (8th to be safe lol).

If you can get the $130 + $5 cashback, then losing around a week is well worth it porting out then.

  • Tempted to get this as cheap extra data to use with my current phone plan. I guess it is doable with an iPhone Air that supports two Esims?

    • Yes, esim is eligible for $135 cashback.

      $350 Prepaid SIM (including eSIM)

      • thanks. just bought and tracked

  • So if I'm currently with Optus can I port out and immediately port back in and be eligible for the cashback?

    • Yes, you have 28 days to do this switch

  • Super deal thanks op! Bought last week during the 120 cash back, need another one but think I'll wait to see if the other mvno's come closer minus cashback

  • Can i Buy a esim from Shopback accout but under my partner name? All details and email will be of her.. will Shopback still track under my account?

Also another question, she's with Optus so first port out today and then order this deal via Shopback? Am i correct?

  • Anyone know if you can receive sms whilst overseas on this service? Currently with Amaysim which allows this.

    • Yep - just got back from overseas and it received SMS no issues at all in every country I was in.

      • Just regular Auto roam without any paid roaming pack right?

  • Mine tracked in 10 mins. Used mobile app. Thanks OP

  • @Think ,
    what does this mean?

with 300GB on the first 3 recharges, then 220GB; and for new services only.

If this is a 365-day prepaid plan, then is the data allowance going to be 300GB
for the next "3 years" of recharges (at whatever price in the future) ?

    • During activation, make sure you turn on 'AutoRecharge' to receive your bonus data. Turn it off after you receive the bonus data as ongoing recharges revert to $350. We should see new deals in 12 months.

I think most of us are doing this SIM slutting. Some do it more frequently.

      • Thanks for replying.

      • @Think…..is port in eligible for this deal ( I am with amaysim for the number I want to port in)…..also I got another number under my name with optus….does it make me eligible for this cashback deal or not????
